I think it's about time we have a place for people with dry skin to talk their dry skin, share, discuss, help each other with their skincare routines, problems, goals.... Skincare. Life style changes. Anything. As much as we can. We don't have to be experts to help each other out. Maybe our experiences combined and put together can produce something helpful and beautiful for every fellow dry skin person that might seek help, word of advice, or simply a "safe haven". Of course, you don't have to have dry skin to join us. Anyone with some wisdom willing to share is welcomed here!
Hi. I'm 43. I"ve noticed a big change in my skin. What was once oily is now dry. I have skin with eczema and rosacea which makes things worse. I feel like I've tried everything. I'm at a loss. Help. Thanks.
Lately I have been really trying to perfect my skincare/makeup routine but I have been having trouble with dryness and makeup looking patchy half way through the day, I use a cleanser with 5% salicylic acid to combat acne (this may be causing dryness?). I use this morning and night. Then I use a nivea facial cream for dry skin, morning and night. Sometimes 3 times a day. I also just starting using first aid beauty's moisturizing primer under my makeup. I use a Mac foundation and concealer. i also exfoliate every other day with a light scrub by boire. What can I do differently? what does a girl have to do to keep a nice even face of makeup from going flaky and patchy half way through the day?
Spoiler (Highlight to read) Dry Skin HELP Dry Skin HELP Hi!! Hello all! I have very dry skin, and I am at a loss when it comes to fixing the situation. I use Clinique's 7 day scrub every few days, and CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser when I am not using the scrub. I go in with Peter Thomas Roth's water drench cloud serum and for moisturizer I use Neutrogena hydro boost or First aid beauty face cream. When I am not wearing foundation, you can't see the flakes as much obviously but my face doesn't feel smooth... But when I am wearing foundation the dry patches are SO bad mostly on my forehead but pretty much every where. I really don't know how to get this under control. I use IT cosmetics your skin but better cc+ cream.. and so far it has been the least drying.. But since it is so thick and almost oily feeling I would need to set it.. Which I can not go near powder or it makes the situation 10x worse. Any suggestions for exfoliators, moisturizers, serums or even foundations?
I think I do everything I can. I moisturize twice a day, drink enough water, don't shower with hot water, use an overnight moisturizing face mask, and my skin still feels and looks dry. I don't know what else to do.
So I've been using Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer and Pixi's H2O Skin Tint and I find it looks very dry and powdery especially on the nose and between the brows. I've tried exfoliating and using masks and I use First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration for a moisturizer. I've also tried multiple primers including Too Faced Hangover Primer, Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer , First Aid Beauty Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer and Benefit's Porefessional Primer. It looks this way whether I put powder on top or not. I've also tried Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist and Vichy Thermal Water spray before and after application. I've use a beauty blender, brush and my fingers and still the same. Any other suggestions? Do you think it's my skin, the products, or something else? Would you recommend a different primer? I have normal to dry (not extremely dry or flaky) skin, not many pores, can get redness at the base of my cheeks and sometimes minor acne.
Hi y'all. I'm looking for recommendations for sunscreen. I have dry, sensitive skin that it also prone to blemishes (mostly hormonal acne). I have just started usin g Dr Brandt Skincare 2% Retinol Complex Serum and have been loving the results. However, I understand that it is very important to use an SPF with retinol product, but I have not been able to find one that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, or break me out. Note: I have mainly use drugstore sunscreen in the past. I am just now branching into higher end skin care Thanks in advance!
I have pretty dry under eyes! I moisturize a lot so I don't have dry patches after applying concealer..but it looks and feels so dry. I currently use the Nars creamy concealer. Does anyone have a concealer that doesn't dry their under eyes/accentuate the dryness? I want to try the Urban Decay one but I heard its drying.
Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for a hydrating toner that isn't a facial mist that actually hydrates like it says it will. I have dry sensitive skin and on nights that I use a retinol or an acid serum I like to balance it with a hydrating toner, but I don't even know where to start looking. Help?
I have tried everything under the sun! I just want a really strong, extremely moisturizing eye cream that contains no sulfates, parabens, or frangrances and is ok for sensitive skin! the only thing that has kind of worked on me is burts bee's honey chapstick and olive oil....imagine that every day and trying to wear makeup and not look like you were punched in the face! So my daily skin routine is very simple and I'm looking to amp it up a bit.My skin type is normal to dry (especially dry under my eyes) and I've also noticed it's uneven and dull. I've been reading posts and questions but it's extremely overwhelming. Can anyone recommend some specific products and tell me exactly what they do (toner, cleanser, serum, essence, etc) ? Also, is it too early to start some anti-aging products? Thank you so much in advanced! I am 22 btw! Here is what I am doing right now.. I usually wake up and just wash my face with water and then moisturize + spf before makeup. At night I use makeup wipes, aveeno cleanser and aveeno overnight cream.
lately the outer corners of my eyes have been getting super dry and red and the skin is peeling off. I dont think its an allergy thing because i haven't been using anything new really,i think its because of the cold weather. any product recommendations? ive seen those cooling eye sticks but I wanna know what works best
I have pretty severe keratosis pilaris on my arms, legs, and cheeks. Although i do not struggle with rosacea or acne, my cheeks are constantly red and bumpy! I've been using Amlactin which has helped a lot, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for dry, sensitive, KP skin. (I.e, serums, moisturizers, cleansers, exfoliators). My current skincare routine is primarily drugstore and i'm trying to change that. (Coconut oil to remove makeup, purity facial cleanser, St.Ives grapefruit exfoliator, any natural spray toner I have on hand, Pond's Dry Skin Cream, and Amlactin) Xx, Stella
Hello, all. I am Janet, friends call me Jo. I work for a firm in Toronto. I am an accountant by profession. The work is hectic and because of this, my face has become dull . I happened to follow a diet plan so as to control my weight and belly size and after this, I got a wonderful change in my overall size of my body. But my face got saggy and turned dull. My skin was dry, so I underwent a facelift treatment ( http://www.drkreidstein.com/our-procedures/face/facial-rejuvenation-surgery/facelift/ ) two months before at Michael Kreidstein centre and I could get a wonderful change in my saggy face. But after that, I didn't use much foundation or any kind make ups. Before I used Maybelline foundation and Makeup forever-HD product as my skin was dry. It's my sister's wedding next month, and I don't know what kind of products that I should be using. Any products you got to suggest for me? I need to hide scars too,so is there any products that would help me in this situation? Will the products that I used before help me in this situation? I want to look awesome in her marriage and I don't want anyone to see my scars. Any suggestions for me?
