What is your night/day time skincare routine?

I would just like to know what everyone does and maybe adapt some of those ideas into my routine as well!

Im really simple and at night

- I exfoliate face with Korress Wild Rose

- Exfoliate lips with LUSH lip scrub

- put the Korress wild rose sleeping facial

- and some EOS lipbalm

And for the day i just wear

- Korress wild rose 24 hr moisturuzer

However, I feel like I'm missing some things to do! what do you do?

I use toner because most cleansers dont do a good job of removing 100% of my makeup. I dont use makeup removers, I would rather use a wipe, cleanse and tone than buy yet another item for my face. Very few cleansers (especially the natural ones, which is what I use) remove everything off my face, so I use a toner (a natural moisturizing/purifying one, I'm very loyal to Thayers) for that. I dont use it with really good cleansers and most of the time, a wipe and cleanser does the job perfectly. If I'm testing a new cleanser and I see that there is no makeup on the cotton pad after using toner, then I dont use toner the next time. It really just depends.

@Jenblush- Toner just removes any traces of makeup or dirt that you might have missed when you were cleansing and prepares your skin for the next step. Hope this helps!

Re: What is your night/day time skincare routine?

First, I like to start with my Proactiv so the Cleanser, Toner, and Repairing Lotion. Proactiv has seriously done wonders to my skin. If I'm feeling lazy that is all I will do that night. But if I think my skin needs an extra boost I like to also use St. Ives Cleanser and their Apricot Scrub or I use Neutrogena foaming cleanser and scrub!!!! I absolutely love these products oh and I can't forget my Sea Breeze toner!!! All these products I  use are really great for my skin. I have oily combination skin.

After all that cleansing, I like to put on Proactiv's green tea moisturizer on my face and then aveeno's daily moisturizer on the drier places of my face and under my eyes.

For a mask once a week I just make my own with baking soda and water. It minimizes my pores and makes my skin look new.

Then apply my EOS lipbalm (I like to use the mint one)

And ya

I love this question!

Day time:

-Cleanse with Korres Milk protein cleaner, exfoliate 2-3 times a week with Ole Henrikson Walnut Scrub

-Recently started using Murad Toner

-Argan Oil

-Murad skin perfecting Lotion

Night:

-Cleanse with Korres again

-Murad toner

-Argan Oil

-Korres Wild Rose sleeping facial!!

Every other day i use a hydrating mask after cleansing then put on my night products!!

I'm looking for an extra step in my routine to help with breakouts but most things dry me out too much.

Re: What is your night/day time skincare routine?

I suggest googling Caroline Hirons' article titled "Toner - Cheat Sheet". She goes through the common myths and functions of toners (balance, exfoliate, hydrate, penetrate). In fact, she's such a toner freak that she uses not one, but TWO toners. I've heard of the double-cleanse, but her blog was the first I've ever heard of a double-tone. She makes such a convincing argument that I almost want to add another toner to my routine actually. You've got to read that article... She    is    SO    funny!
