Sound off! Need recommendations for a moisturizer for dry skin please

Re: Sound off! Need recommendations for a moisturizer for dry skin please

Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing lotion works really well for my dry skin.

Sephora sells a $5 mini, it's the perfect size to try out or keep in your purse.

Algenist Genius Cream is amazing for dry skin. I also like oils for dry skin; anything with Jojoba works great!

RE: Sound off! Need recommendations for a moisturizer for dry skin please

I was always dry especially around my nose. Since sticking with Philosophy Miracle I haven't had any issues. I recently tried a few sample moisturizers to use up samples/play box@freebies and the dry skin around my noise came back as well as texture. So I have already found my holy grail moisturizer that seems to get rid of my forehead 11's too. I don't know why i even bother with any other types. I hope you find your best moisturizer too. Definitely give Philosophy a try! It's gentle and effective.

I have super dry skin and what's worked for me is Maracuja Oil by Tarte. It has a great texture and smell, and of course, since it's only one ingredient, it's also really gentle on skin. A heavier cream moisturizer I also like, and use in conjunction with the oil when I'm feeling particularly flaky, is L'occitane's Comforting Cream; it only has three ingredients which I really like.

I use the Clarins Hydra-Essential normal to dry in the fall and dry to really dry in the winter. They're both super rich creams that keep my skin soft and supple. Also, they sit well with my super sensitive skin and don't break me out.

Re: Sound off! Need recommendations for a moisturizer for dry skin please

I have an extremely dry nose and after going through a ton of moisturizers, I found two that I really liked, though they're a little pricey.

  • Tatcha's Pore Perfecting Water Gel: I put this on before I put on anything else because it helps my makeup stick to my skin but it also moisturizes it very well! I don't use it alone however because I really just don't like the tacky feeling of it alone.
  • La Mer's Moisturizing Soft Cream: Some people say that this clogs their pores so it might not be the best for you, depending on your skin, but I have very small pores and it doesn't clog mine. I only use this at night because it leaves you looking super dewy, even the morning after (I prefer to look very dewy). However, this is like my holy grail moisturizer because it definitely works and I never have dry spots.

Hello fellow dry skin-haver!

An ingredient I tend to look for in my moisturizer is hyaluronic acid, or sodium hyaluronate. I also avoid oil-free moisturizers, as I found using these made my skin become MORE oily to overcompensate for the lack of natural oils I was skimping out on.

A few moisturizers that have worked best for are:

  • IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream
  • DIOR Hydra Life Extra Plump Mask (leave on for three minutes as instructed, then wipe off excess with a cotton pad without rinsing - whatever is left will be your moisturizer!)
  • Tata Harper Rejuvenating Moisturizer
  • Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizer (very light!)
  • First Aid Beaty Ultra Repair Cream (for winter) and Daily Face Cream
  • KORRES Rose Sleeping Facial
  • Belif True Cream
  • Olay Regenerist Micro-Scultping Cream (if you want drugstore!)

In any case, your best bet is to go into your local Sephora and ask the skincare specialist to help you out. I hope this helps!

I really like the Ultra Hydration line from First Aid Beauty!it makes my skin so soft, and especially helps with peelies. I use it at night, mostly, because it's kind of thick. The price is great, especially for the quality!

I also like IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Creme for the day time. Again, decent price point as well. Goes on kind of thick but sets in beautifully, especially under the IT cosmetics CC cream.

Hope that helps!

@Yogabeauty I adore CeraVe PM.  It's light and helped moisturize my skin during the first hellish weeks of Retin-A.

Hi Yogabeauty,

What is your current skincare routine?

I'm a huge fan of the belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. It smells fresh, isn't heavy, and adds intense hydration!

Depending on how my skin is feeling, sometimes I'll also add a few drops of oil to my nighttime skincare routine.

Hope this helps!

Bisous,

Sian
