Dry, red patch under eye

I have a dry red patch under my eye and it seems like nothing will get rid of it.  Does anybody know any really sensitive but moisturizing eye creams that would be good?

Hi barabra,

I have had that happen before, its usually myself scrubbing my eye makeup off too hard, harsh makeup remover, or just an allergy to a product I'm using like an eye cream or liner.

Depending if you have an allergy to it or not, I used to dab a bit of hydrocortisone on the dry patches (NOT near the water lines at ALL) and it managed to heal in a few days. Make sure you use a VERY gentle eye cream in the meantime. I like the Origins Eye Doctor which was gentle and super hydrating for sensitive skin (aka MINE!) and I am right now using the Anthony Logistics basic eye cream which is hydrating and moisturizing without burning or causing irritation.

If it's still not going away please see a doctor or dermatologist! They will be able to determine the best way to treat it. :cathappy:

Dry, red patch.  Are you sure it isn't a rash?  If it has been there for a while, best thing to do is to go and see a dermatologist about it.

I have the same problem and have tried a million different things. I also went a few days without makeup and changed my face wash and concealer. Cucumbers make it a little better for me but nothing makes it go away so far. Have you been able to find a solution?

I personally ADORE Origins Plantscription Eye Cream and anything by Renee Rouleau (better than anything). As a nurse, though, I'd recommend having your doctor glance at it to make sure something else isn't brewing. Just be careful to read ingredient labels--stay away from fragranced products and those with retinol-type ingredients. Sounds like a sensitivity to something. Good luck!
