My face is DRY! DRY! I use masks and moisturize, but during the day, its just dry in places where acne has been or Ive been wiping my nose non-stop and I need a moisturizer I can apply over makeup. I was using Clinique's Moisture surge but ran out, and its pricey. I use it bc a Clinique SA once told me it can be put over top of makeup as needed. It seems to work...any other suggestions?
I need some recommendations for some exfoliators please! My skin is becoming dry and flaky and no matter how much moisturizer I put on my face, my makeup still seems to separate by the end of the day even with setting powder and a setting spray. My skin is very sensitive, and acne prone, so I'm guessing I need a very gentle exfoliator. I don't want one for acne skin because I already am using products to clear up my acne. Thanks!!
My skin is very dry year round, especially in the winter. To hydrate my skin, I currently use: - Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ - Clinique All About Eyes Rich - Lush Oatifix Face Mask All of these products I love but I find are not enough to keep my skin constantly hydrated. I am looking for suggestions of the best cleansers for dry skin, along with any other products that will be effective in combating my dry skin?
The cold weather has weird effects on me. My under eye skin is so dry and itchy! I have been going to bed with Aquaphor under my eyes for the past few days but it didn't help. Now I'm using FAB Ultra Repair Cream today, reapplying every hour. Luckily for me, I work from home and I don't have to get out of the house all day, except for a teacher/parents meeting tonight. Do you have any miracle product to suggest? Is is ok to use a cream that is not targeted for under eyes? Should I try coconut oil tonight? Aloes? Anything? Thanks!
I’ve heard a lot about using honey on your face for its moisturizing benefits. It’s antimicrobial and has antioxidants properties to help with acne, which I don’t have a problem with, and ultra-humectant for dryer skin. I’ve heard/read about home recopies of honey face masks and have tried my own concoctions at home but I’m contemplating the idea of mixing it in with my morning moisturizer for everyday use. Have you have tried honey on your face? When and how often? And do you use it straight from container or mixed in with something (what??)
Hi everyone, I recently turned 44 and I am still struggling to figure out how best to care for my dry/combination skin. At the recent VIB sale I have purchased all new skincare for my crazy skin that does not like fragrance (cause sneezing and plugs up my nose) or most skincare products (make my face turn red). So my current routine is : Morning - wash with philosophy cleanser in shower then use Origins Dr Weil mega mushroom serum followed by Algenist oil (at this point I notice some redness/irritation already). After oil is absorbed I use the Origins Dr Weil mega mushroom cream (very fragrant but takes care of some of the redness). I then follow with Algenist sunscreen then foundation. The only foundation I found that does not cause any reaction on my skin is Naked by Urban Decay (Lancôme BB cream causes sneezing and Dior forever flawless is great for 4-5 hours but then it melts away). Evening: Boscia makeup breakup and Lancome eye makeup remover, follow with Origins mega mushroom cleanser. Use FAB radiance pads (but it causes redness) then use the Origins mega mushroom serum followed by Fresh seaberry oil. Last I use the Origins mega mushroom moisturizer. At the end my skin still shows some redness/irritation. About every other day I use masks and about 2-3 times a week I exfoliate either with Lancôme gentle exfoliator, PTR peeling gel exfoliant, Glam Glow or Ole Hendriksen blue/black enzyme mask. Other concerns that I would like to address with my skin are uneven skin tone and blemishes on chin and forehead (mostly around that time of the month). Thank you so much to anyone who is taking the time to read this lengthy post. I would sure appreciate some suggestions and advice. I feel like I own so much stuff and yet nothing seems to work just right :-(
I have always had dry skin. In the winter however living in a cold, and non-humidified climate.. my skin gets SO dry. I moisturize daily, and have tried literally hundreds of lotions from prescription, to Nivea, you name it. My skin gets super dry, and flakes, EVERYWHERE! Any suggestions?
So I've been looking into improving my skincare and it's not as simple as I thought it would be. One product lead to another and it seems like something's always missing. Started off with a moisturizer and now I'm getting a skin peel. What type of products do you think are essential for dry skin and for a 17 year old?
My skin is just dry and flaky and I don't think it will get any better until I get rid of all this dead skin. I looked at the "Facial Peel" section on here and I truly don't even know what to think. Can anyone help me? I'm mostly just looking for a way to remove all of this dead skin without it being extremely expensive. I was hoping to not go much higher than $50 unless I need to (truly don't know how much these things should cost).
I recently was told to buy Murad as a daily cleanser but I believe it's drying my skin out even more. Sadly, I was told it would;t do so but I understand every skin type is different. Any suggestions on a cleanser to use every day that will not dry out (already dry) skin and will also remove makeup?
With the temperature dropping in the East Coast, I've been regularly using sheet masks to combat my increasingly dehydrated skin. Even though my skin is oily year-round, it still gets irritated and flaky from retinoid use so sheet masks have long been a necessary staple of mine. I normally use them at night once a week before applying my retinoid and the instant glow (albeit, short-term) they provide is amazing. Also, for special events when I'm willing to spend more time dolling up, using sheet masks before makeup allows my foundation to look translucent (less cakey, longer wear time). I listed some of my favorites below but am always on the lookout for more accessible (but affordable) ones in the states. Have you used any of them before? Please share your favorites! Favorite Masks 1. Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask ($16.50 for 6 masks) This Taiwanese mask is my favorite out of all the masks I tried - it's super hydrating and does not irritate my skin even on days when it's inflamed from overzealous retinoid application. 2. HadaLabo Gokujyun Paper Mask ($10.20 for 4 sheets) HadaLabo is a Japanese brand that is very well known for it's moisturizing line. 3. My Beauty Diary Aloe Mask ($13.50 for 10 sheets) (Taiwan) My Beauty Diary offers over 40 different kinds of sheet mask and is the most affordable sheet mask I know of that moisturizes. The fact that it's sold in Wal-mart online is a plus as well. 4. Base Formula Aloe Vera & Seaweed Gel ($13.50 for 16.9 oz) (UK based brand) This isn't a sheet mask but I find the effects comparable, if not better, when applied on the skin for 40 minutes or longer. However, I get lazy and don't use this as often as I would like since it requires more time and washing off. (This mask is particularly soothing after a facial) Masks I have heard good things about but haven't had the chance to try yet: 1. Tony Moly Natural Pulp Essence Sheet Mask - Hyaluronic Acid 2. The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Mask Sheet 3. Innisfree It's Real Green Tea Mask 4. Annie's Way Jelly Mask P.S. I'm not too picky with clay mask - both drugstore and department store brands work the same for me so I just stick with my Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask.
I am 29 years old with sensitive skin, new products often case break outs on my face. My face gets dry and foundation gets flaky on my skin during the wintertime. What would you recommend as an exfoliator?
I have dry skin and i moisturize it religiously but i hate the greasiness/shininess that comes with it. I just bought a full size of Murad Oil-Control Mattifier after trying a sample and liking it but i'm rethinking it because it doesn't seem all that moisturizing. (Duh, it's for oily skin...) Does anyone know of any moisturizers heavy-duty enough to help out my dry skin, but still with a matte and shine-less finish?
Why does this say it's for DRY skiN?Pureness Line is for oily skin! http://www.sephora.com/pureness-balancing-softener -alcohol-free-P173643?skuId=622571 I want to make sure because I have oily skin I dont want to buy the wrong one!! Thanks!!
All of the evening creams I've tried recently are leaving me feeling even more dry & more flaky. If anyone has any night cream suggestions for the over 50 group with flaky, dry, old-looking skin, I'd be very grateful! Thanks!
Hey all, I'm pretty new here and I need help with finding a good winter moisturizer. My skin varies from season to season; I find it's a bit more oily in the summer and a lot drier in the winter. My skin is starting to feel very tight and it's starting to become more flaky. The current cleaners I have dry me out; I have purchased Philosophy's Purity and that broke me out. My skin really isn't sensitive but I honestly don't know what would irritate it. I would also like a good moisturizer for the day time because the moisturizers I do have are extremely heavy and are more suitable for night time. Any suggestions? Thank you!
I don't know what this is, but I just have dry, flaky skin just at the creases of my nose that are particularly visible when I wear makeup (mineral or liquid) and I don't know how to get rid of it. I've tried good moisturizers, but it doesn't seem to work and it's very isolated to just the nose crease. I do have dry skin in general, but a good moisturizer usually takes care of any dryness EXCEPT here. It's not so much "patches" of skin, it looks maybe more like pores that have flaked off or something. It's hard to describe. Maybe I will take a picture. Does anybody know what the heck I'm talking about? lol If so, what skin regiment would you recommend?
What is the difference between these two products as they can both be used as a moisturizer? I have really dry skin and .... winter is coming! My daughter has dry skin on her face, and is especially flaky around the corner of her eye and on her lid. It bothers her, which makes her scratch at it, making it worse. It's not eczema. I'm looking for something to help with her dry skin, and considering she's only 4, safe for her to use. She has sensitive skin, and even more so since it's dry. Drugstore lotions irritate her... even Aveeno and Burt's Bees. And she HATES the feeling of oils. Also, it needs to "sink in" fairly quickly OR not hurt the eyes, since she rubs her eye area, which could make them sting. Doesn't have to be something Sephora carries, just need something that'll help! So... any input would be great!
Hello Beauties, it has been forever but I need help and I know you can offer it. I have super dry skin under my eyebrow down to the lid. The skin is so dry that it flakes off. (The lid does not get flakey but right above it up to the brow gets flaky). Is there an eye cream you can recommend that will help with that? I'm currently using algenist complete renewal balm and it helps but does not fix the problem. Thoughts?
I am 61 with very dry skin. It is getting better as I have been consistently using some great skincare treatments. My problem is I want a foundation that covers everything. At my age, natural is the same as horrible! Most of them are cakey and have no luminosity to them. I also have trouble with my skin picking up the yellow undertones in most colors. Can someone guide me in the right direction?
This is a hard subject to ask for me! Lol I love Algenist and have a lot invested in the line but am very sad to say that my skin is still dry. I am using three Moisturizers from them including the firming and lifting cream and the gel as well, all at the same time and I'm still dry. I have been using the whole line for four months, is that enough time to know if I should add another brand or not? I am also using their oil and that seems to help a little. I am asking because I am getting frustrated. I keep sticking with this line but not getting the results I was hoping for. Thanks in advance. Does anyone know when Sephora will get their neck cream back? It's new but before I could get it, it was gone! Lol
21 years old, Asian skin, have a dry and thin skin, and can get sensitive(redness and acne/breakouts) when deeply moisturized. Looking for skin care products that can help with the dryness issues, but also not having breakouts. Thank you very much!
