Hey guys! I'm starting the medicine Accutane for my severe acne in the next few weeks and I'm looking for skin care recommendations. On this medication, the oils in your body stop it's production, which then makes your face (and whole body) extremely dry. I have combo skin right now, but I know I'm going to need a lot of moisturizing products while I'm in this medicine. So has anyone been in a similar situation and have any good dry skin lifesavers they would recommend? Thanks so much.
I think it's about time we have a place for people with dry skin to talk their dry skin, share, discuss, help each other with their skincare routines, problems, goals.... Skincare. Life style changes. Anything. As much as we can. We don't have to be experts to help each other out. Maybe our experiences combined and put together can produce something helpful and beautiful for every fellow dry skin person that might seek help, word of advice, or simply a "safe haven". Of course, you don't have to have dry skin to join us. Anyone with some wisdom willing to share is welcomed here!
I have dry skin and at night I like to use a moisturizer that is REALLY moisturizing. I have seen replies for questions like mine but those products are not moisturizing enough for me. I would be using this lotion for nighttime along with some acne medication I am using. Thank you for your suggestions!!
Hi. I'm 43. I"ve noticed a big change in my skin. What was once oily is now dry. I have skin with eczema and rosacea which makes things worse. I feel like I've tried everything. I'm at a loss. Help. Thanks.
Lately I have been really trying to perfect my skincare/makeup routine but I have been having trouble with dryness and makeup looking patchy half way through the day, I use a cleanser with 5% salicylic acid to combat acne (this may be causing dryness?). I use this morning and night. Then I use a nivea facial cream for dry skin, morning and night. Sometimes 3 times a day. I also just starting using first aid beauty's moisturizing primer under my makeup. I use a Mac foundation and concealer. i also exfoliate every other day with a light scrub by boire. What can I do differently? what does a girl have to do to keep a nice even face of makeup from going flaky and patchy half way through the day?
Spoiler (Highlight to read) Dry Skin HELP Dry Skin HELP Hi!! I've even have heat bumps on my nose because of the heat. HELP
Hello all! I have very dry skin, and I am at a loss when it comes to fixing the situation. I use Clinique's 7 day scrub every few days, and CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser when I am not using the scrub. I go in with Peter Thomas Roth's water drench cloud serum and for moisturizer I use Neutrogena hydro boost or First aid beauty face cream. When I am not wearing foundation, you can't see the flakes as much obviously but my face doesn't feel smooth... But when I am wearing foundation the dry patches are SO bad mostly on my forehead but pretty much every where. I really don't know how to get this under control. I use IT cosmetics your skin but better cc+ cream.. and so far it has been the least drying.. But since it is so thick and almost oily feeling I would need to set it.. Which I can not go near powder or it makes the situation 10x worse. Any suggestions for exfoliators, moisturizers, serums or even foundations?
I think I do everything I can. I moisturize twice a day, drink enough water, don't shower with hot water, use an overnight moisturizing face mask, and my skin still feels and looks dry. I don't know what else to do.
So I've been using Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer and Pixi's H2O Skin Tint and I find it looks very dry and powdery especially on the nose and between the brows. I've tried exfoliating and using masks and I use First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration for a moisturizer. I've also tried multiple primers including Too Faced Hangover Primer, Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer , First Aid Beauty Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer and Benefit's Porefessional Primer. It looks this way whether I put powder on top or not. I've also tried Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist and Vichy Thermal Water spray before and after application. I've use a beauty blender, brush and my fingers and still the same. Any other suggestions? Do you think it's my skin, the products, or something else? Would you recommend a different primer? I have normal to dry (not extremely dry or flaky) skin, not many pores, can get redness at the base of my cheeks and sometimes minor acne.
Hi y'all. I'm looking for recommendations for sunscreen. I have dry, sensitive skin that it also prone to blemishes (mostly hormonal acne). I have just started usin g Dr Brandt Skincare 2% Retinol Complex Serum and have been loving the results. However, I understand that it is very important to use an SPF with retinol product, but I have not been able to find one that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, or break me out. Note: I have mainly use drugstore sunscreen in the past. I am just now branching into higher end skin care Thanks in advance!
As a beauty addict, I have more than my fair share of makeup products..but I've been slacking on my skincare. a lot. At one point, I was just using wipes and cetaphil lotion ( I know, disgusting.) Anyway I've been getting back into my routine though. This is my current routine: -Shiseido Gentle Cleanser -Algenist Hydrating Toner -Clinique Moisturizing Lotion+ But I have questions! What do you use? Serums? Exfoliators? Luna? Any tips or experience is greatly appreciated and I'd love to hear all about y'all skincare routine! (P.S. I have pretty dry under eyes! I moisturize a lot so I don't have dry patches after applying concealer..but it looks and feels so dry. I currently use the Nars creamy concealer. Does anyone have a concealer that doesn't dry their under eyes/accentuate the dryness? I want to try the Urban Decay one but I heard its drying.
Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for a hydrating toner that isn't a facial mist that actually hydrates like it says it will. I have dry sensitive skin and on nights that I use a retinol or an acid serum I like to balance it with a hydrating toner, but I don't even know where to start looking. Help?
I have tried everything under the sun! I just want a really strong, extremely moisturizing eye cream that contains no sulfates, parabens, or frangrances and is ok for sensitive skin! the only thing that has kind of worked on me is burts bee's honey chapstick and olive oil....imagine that every day and trying to wear makeup and not look like you were punched in the face! I know I'm sadly not the only one suffering, please share any tips or tricks for relief and I will owe you for life! Thanks ladies Spoiler (Highlight to read)
So my daily skin routine is very simple and I'm looking to amp it up a bit.My skin type is normal to dry (especially dry under my eyes) and I've also noticed it's uneven and dull. I've been reading posts and questions but it's extremely overwhelming. Can anyone recommend some specific products and tell me exactly what they do (toner, cleanser, serum, essence, etc) ? Also, is it too early to start some anti-aging products? Thank you so much in advanced! I am 22 btw! Here is what I am doing right now.. I usually wake up and just wash my face with water and then moisturize + spf before makeup. At night I use makeup wipes, aveeno cleanser and aveeno overnight cream.
