Can I just wash my face with just water? Is that will remove all my makeup? Because every cleanser that I have use dry my face.

Look into a more milky cleanser or cream based one.  For makeup remover, consider a cleansing oil.  To make sure it is all off, use a gentle makeup remover wipe before washing the face.  Sensitive formula (generic) or the Yes to Cucumbers wipes are great.

Cleanser product recommendations:  Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil(s) - A/I formula, Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser.

Along with dry skin, it has been dry, arid, and recent smoke blowing in from the west.  Been using those which have kept my face from feeling uncomfortable even in these conditions.

If changing up the cleanser does not work, reevaluate the rest of the skincare products.

Hope that helps.

Water is not going to remove make up. If you have dry skin, look for any gel, milk or oil cleanser. Needless to say, you should always follow up with a good moisturizer. A hydrating toner might also help to prep the skin so the moisturizer sinks in better.

Personally I wash with water in the morning, then cleanse/tone/moisturize at night. Overcleansing can dry your skin, so if you are not wearing make up, you can just wash with water occasionally. If you are wearing make up, you need a cleanser.

You should really use a cleanser you will get extra benefits and younger looking skin. For dry skin I suggest a milky cleanser like the korres milk and proteins cleaner or the Argan oil cleanser from Josie Maran. Are you using any moisturizer?

Hey! My skin is absolutely wonky. I have skin that is dry, oily, sensitive, acne-prone, hyperpigmented and last but not least I have large pores. My skin is dry everywhere except my nose, so I use the Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser, which is quite moisturizing. I would reccomend for you to use a super-oily and rich moisturizer after cleansing, because it will build up your skin's natural moisture. Make sure to use SPF because sun exposure can dry your skin out further. As well, you could try using a serum before moisturizer. Another little tip is to use Argan oil on your face. :smileyhappy: Hope I helped!

Hi Kate1993,

It's important to use a cleanser or product that is specifically designed to remove cosmetics since water isn't sufficient in removing all traces of makeup. I would suggest trying a cleansing water, which will be light on your face while gently providing your skin with nutrients while breaking down your daily makeup and hydrating the skin. Cleansing waters are very refreshing, especially during the summer time.

Follow your makeup removal routine by cleansing your face and then moisturizing to keep your skin hydrated :smileyhappy:.

I would never just rely on water to remove my makeup, but my friend only used water, and her face looks great. No breakouts...me on the other hand can't keep a clear face for longer than two weeks no matter what I do, although I've definitely cut it back some.

If your looking for a no drying cleaners I'd suggest REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser. It has helped me to make my skin a lot smoother and doesn't dry at all. This stuff is also good for sensitive skin. I'd say pick up a sample of this while your in a Sephora if you can and try it out. I'm hooked after one sample and can't wait to buy it soon.

I've read different things about people who use water to cleanse their face. While I think it's logical to use water to clean your face in the mornings, at night it's a different story. There's no way water can just get everything off your face. There were times when I just used a cleanser to wash my face and later on, I realized while using my toner that I wasn't getting everything off, so even a cleanser alone may not be sufficient, but that's just my opinion. If you have dry skin, I would suggest looking for an oil-based cleanser or try using a Dove bar. On the other hand, there are people out there who can smother mud on their faces and not even have issues with their skin, so if you feel that strongly about not using any cleanser, the choice is ultimately yours. I hope this helps and good luck!

I have been using and loving Boscia Soothing Cleansing Cream. It's a bit pricey but it lasts me a while, and I also use it with a Clarsonic. It hydrates my face well because it is an oily cleanser. I hope you find a cleanser that works well for you!

Hi Kate,

I have a great suggestion for you that is gentle, soft and natural, "Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser"$26 breaks down make up particles and cleanses skin gently and leaves a silky soft feel.  Infused with grape extract, sage and chamomile, it's also a soap-free product that wont dry out your skin.

 Caudalie - Instant Foaming Cleanser

Best,

You can wash your face with water in the morning but if youre wearing makeup, water wont clean your face well enough, especially if youre at the sink and not in the shower and especially if you are using cold water. The only cleanser that i know of that removes ALL my makeup and doesnt dry out my skin is Origins Never a Dull Moment cleaner but Sephora doesnt carry it.
