skincare

Hey hey 🙂 I am very new to skincare so I am not too too sure on what works best and what doesn't. For the past few months my face has looked very pale (as if it's losing its color) and I have also had a problem with the dark areas around my eyes. Any recommendations?

Re: skincare

If you think your losing color, I would see a doctor. There are internal changes that can cause loss of pigment.

For daily skincare, a cleanser, moisturizer/eye cream and spf is enough. Unless you want more steps.

Philosophy purity made simple cleanser is a good option, also removes makeup. For eye, Clinique all about eyes is popular. Eye darkness can also be heredity.

Anything your skin reacts to?

Re: skincare

@Mcakes Yes, my skin is normal. I have been wanting to go for a natural look on my lazy days but find myself applying so much concealer 😕

I am tan myself but my face is not even close to the color of my skin.

What type of eye cream do you recommend?

Re: skincare

Getting into a good routine is key! You're going to have to try out some products to see what works best with your skin. Skincare is so personal so it really is trial and error. It's worth it though! Once you get a roster of products that you like you'll notice an improvement in your skin.

You might want to consider adding vitamin D3 into your diet, it's really good for your skin! It gives you the benefits of tanning without the skin damage.

You got lucky with normal skin! I have dry to normal so just keep that in mind with the products I am going to recommend. Moisturizing is important but since you have normal skin the ones I like might be too much for you!

Here's what I do to take care of my skin:

Morning-

-Cleanse

-Astringent (especially during that TOM my skin gets a little crazy)

-Tone

-Essence

-Treat

-Moisturize

-SPF

Both my primer and foundations have SPF in it as well. I'm entering my late 20's so anti-aging is huge for me!

Night:

-Take off makeup

-Cleanse

-Exfoliate (every couple of days or as needed. same with my Clarisonic)

-Astringent

-Tone

-Essence

-Treat

-Moisturize

-Eye Cream

Since your face is lighter than the skin on the rest of your body you can match your foundation shade to that and it will look balanced.

Re: skincare

Hi @jackss1212! Can you tell us a little bit more about your skin? Is it oily, normal or dry?

As far as your skin looking pale there are plenty of things you can incorporate into your beauty routine if you want to add some color! Bronzer is my best friend in the winter. You can also tan of course!

With your dark circles I definitely recommend getting an eye cream. If you want to conceal them you can color correct with concealers.
