So I got a facial yesterday for the first time. Lovely experience, although she was a crappy masseuse. However my skin didn't really look all that different. I struggle with large pores/blackheads (or whatever the new term for black spots on the nose is). They are the bane of my existence, and I've had them since I was 13. Pore strips work alright, but I feel they are pretty harsh and I don't like using them. I have a pretty vigorous exfoliation routine (alternate with a scrub and clay masks every day), PTR's 2% AHA 10% BHA serum, glycolic acid toner, ect. but I still have these spots. They have gotten better, but are still there, so I thought a facial where they did more intense exfoliation or extractions would help. Maybe I just need a better esthetician? The majority of the salons around me are Aveda salons, and I'm not completely sold on that brand. Anyways, the point of my ramblings are, do you get regular facials? What brands do they use? How would you suggest choosing a good spa/salon?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a drugstore moisturizer that wont clog my pores or make me more oily? I kind of want to save my money for chic week and I need a moisturizer like yesterday because I'm out! I have combo skin that leans a little more towards oily (T zone). I have a few dry patches on my chin and sometimes my cheeks. Thanks!
Hi all I am in my early 20s and am looking to begin a skincare regimen but have no idea where to start or what kind of products I need. I think I have combination skin (though I'm not sure about that either!) - my skin seems fairly normal but towards the end of the day my nose and forehead are usually quite shiny. I don't have major issues with acne or blackheads but I do get the occasional breakout of zits. I just want a regimen that is pretty easy and not too expensive, because I've been reading that at this age I need to start caring about my skin for benefits when I'm older. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Hi All! I am in need of an exfoliator. I have very sensitive, combo skin (with some acne). I know exfoliators need to not be harsh but I really want there to be enough "scrub" that I feel it is working - sometimes I don't get that with exfoliators? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
not HAG, hahaa I ment "HG" ******* just wanted to ask you gals what are some of your HG Skin care Products? I wanna add some great products to my skin are routine. i have combo skin and at the moment I only use Philosophy 3in1 to remove makeup with my Mia2 and my philosophy moisturizer. I'm looking for a good sunscreen as well. So far hope in a jar SPF25 works great with my skin no break outs but I'm looking for a little more protection. I've used Josie argon oil but my nose tens to get oily even though ppl say it won't cause oiliness +I get little break outs from it as well. any great skin care products you ladies love? And think I should add to my routine. Someone change my life hahaa
I am looking for a moisturizer for my combo/oily skin. I would like a moisturizer without spf. I would love it to help work with dullness and not make my skin more oily than it is. I live in a tropical/humid climate and in the summer my skin can get pretty oily. Although I do not suffer from acne, when it gets really hot my pores tend to get clogged up. I have previously tried: -Origins Starting Over Age Erasing Oil Free Moisturizer w/ Mimosa -Dr. Jart +Water Fuse Water-Sure Gel -Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid -Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Glow Moisture -Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Super Creme I am considering: -Algenist Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel -Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation -Boscia Black Hydration Gel -Korres Pomegranate Balancing Cream-Gel Moisturiser -Origins Make a Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment Any good experiences with the products mentioned above? Any recommendations? <3Ali
I am someone who has desert-dry skin, especially around my nose. Whenever I apply foundation it peels up and it doesn't feel smooth like skin should! I do so much to moisturize my skin but nothing has ever worked. On top of that, whenever I wear foundation (which is a daily basis), my skin gets so unbelievably oily. I would apply powder to fix that, but if I did, my skin would peel even more! I need some type of skincare products that will help the oilness without drying out my skin!
I didn't MEAN for it to be a "new year's resolution" 'cos I don't like making those, but I have started focusing on taking care of my skin better the last coupla weeks. With the amount of money I spend on makeup, getting lazy and not washing my face as night is not an option anymore! There's no sense paying for the fancy paint if you've got a jacked up canvas. Also, no wonder I get so many zits... (Oh, I did have a brief affair with Proactiv last spring, but that ish burned me in spots and made me get huge cysts too, no thnx!) Anyhooz, I started reading around here and decided wanted a Clarisonic to help with this new dedication. So I picked up the Mia 2 (in pink, of course) yesterday (2x points, yay!) and I let it charge the whole 24 hours and I'm about to go use it! So yep, here I go... thanks everyone that enabled me, whether you knew you did or not! Haha So here I am with a clean face and no hiding behind any products... eep! (PS weird lighting, I swear my forehead isn't grey lol) We'll call this my "before" pic! (jeez sorry it's huge! I hope my big ole mug doesn't frighten erryone)
When I went to Sephora they used Clarisonic to clean and prep my face for makeup. My skin felt so good and I wanted it. I never asked them any details about it because I didnt know there was more than one. I looked online and I see a MIA and MIA 2. So I turn to you as I always do and ask what's the difference or which do you recommend? Also which cleanser do you use with it? They said you can use anything you want.
I'm in my late 20s and am tired of covering up my face with makeup. I usually have trouble sleeping and my face lacks firmness, radiance and I'm plagued with whiteheads and redness. I've also got a major issue with dark circles. Is there a good line of products I can use? I recently finished using my Shiseido Ibuki moisturizer and toner. I'm also currently using Origins Dr. Weil's brightening eye cream. Please help. Thank you.
I have a few uneven skin texture spots on my face. In my lasts post I described them as "acne scars" which they may be I just figured maybe describing them as having a texture problem would be more appropriate. I noticed when I put on my foundation I don't get that air brushed effect...it just doesn't look smooth. I don't know if the problem is the skin care or the foundation. What are some good products to re texturize my face so that I have smoother skin with or without foundation?
I've never really had acne necessarily but I do get blemishes a few times a month. Ever since I stopped using drugstore make up it has gotten better but I am still looking for that PERFECT SKIN CARE REGIMINE. I know what works for some doesn't work for everyone but I've heard a lot of people rant and rave about Philosophy's skin care products. I'm thinking about trying the Purity cleanser and the microdelivery exfoliating scrub in combination. I wanted to know if anyone has tried it or if there are other skin care secrets that you'd be willing to share to help get my skin back to being clear again! I'm open to anything for combination skin!
I'm 20 years old and i have a normal skintype. I'm looking for a good facial cleanser (which removes makeup), a moisturizer, night cream, eyecream that moisturizers and is very good against dark circles and a facial scrubber. I want everything in good and famous brands. Each product should not cost more the 50 usd. Thank you!!!
I tried searching but didnt find what I was looking for. I received a sample of Tarte's Maracuja Oil. After washing my face, do I put the oil directly on my face and use moisturizer after? Or do I use moisturizer before putting on the oil? Or am I not supposed to use moisturizer at all? And maracuja oil is supposed to help with redness right? Thanks!!
I recently bought the Origins GinZing Energy-boosting Moisturizer after hearing wonderful things about it on youtube. I bought it because I wanted the even complexion, brightness, radiant skin tone.... After using it for about 3 days, my entire face developed tiny bumps all over it. I'm so sad because it smells amazing and had everything I was looking for.. I usually don't have these type of reactions to moisturizers so I was unpleasantly surprised. Anyone have suggestions of a similar moisturizer that won't wreck my skin?
Hi! I am in need of a moisturizer!!! I have oily skin on my chin, nose, sometimes near cheekbones, and forehead. But I also get dry skin on my nose, between my eyebrows, and apples of cheeks! I know my skin is crazy! So I need a moisturizer that will mousturize my face, help mattify my oiliness, and that also has atleast SPF 15!!! Also I'm 14 so no anti aging creams or anything like that! Please recommend me some moisturizers! Thanks!
I received a sample of the Josie Mara 100% Argan Oil Light and it was lovely, I have Combination Skin , usually more oily but as of late because of the cold weather it's more dry, and a combo of super oily and dry in the t-zone... The oil soaked up quite nicely, but what's the difference between the normal oil and the light one ... I read about it and couldn't find much. Any help?
Hello Beautifuls! I'm a 22 year old senior in college only starting to take care of her skin. I've been relatively lucky in the sense that I only horribly broke out when I was 13 -- my dad subsequently made my pediatrician prescribe me some acne lotion which worked wonders. Currently, I only really break out during my time of the month, and that too, is 2-3 really noticeable pimples. However, I do have blackheads. As a part of my new year's resolution to have "clear, radiant skin" by 2015, I've started to research skincare regimes. I'm not mentioning any brands -- but this is what I came across on the internet for someone of my age. Daily Facial Cleanser (twice a day, once in the morning, once at night) Exfoliating Scrub (twice a day, once in the morning, once at night) Facial Mask (2-3 times a week) Alcohol Free Skin Toner (I use this twice a day because I notice a lot of gunk gets left over -- specifically the beads from exfoliaters) Moisturizer with SPF However, I'm wondering about the following. Eye Cream, Anti-aging cream, and well as night cream. I don't really get dark circles under my eyes but several of my friends have told me it takes around 10 years for these aging products to work. However, I'm kind of hesitant because my mom has never used these products (she's in her late 40s) and always gets complimented about how young she looks. I don't see what the purpose of night cream is as well.
I know this is random and something not really talked about. Let's just say I'm a dancer. In addition to that, in high school [I'm 22 now] I was in Speech and Debate which required me to wear heels. Since I wasn't going to wear heels to school, I bought relatively cheap ($20-$30) heels that would eat into my skin after a whole day of wearing them/running around a college campus to get to my next debate round. I don't have any other problems other than they're darker than the rest of my skin. I'm a sandal girl so my feet are constantly exposed! I get pedicures very occasionally [about 1-2 a year] however my mom always tells me to just use a pumice stone while I'm showering and my feet should be fine. I was wondering if anyone had any foot scrubs/foot care routines that they would like to share with me? Since I am a student, I'm looking into saving for the Clarisonic Footcare system however I will not buy it if it is not worth the $200 price tag. I just recently bought the Clarisonic MIA 2 as a part of a skincare regime and am in love with it!
I've been thinking of switching moisturizers and I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for combination skin. I also have large pores on my nose and some redness on my cheeks. Is there a moisturizer that is good for all those things or do I need to use other stuff like toner? Thanks!
Hi! I'm a 22 year old female and have never had any significant problems with my skin, so I'm at a total loss regarding how to deal with it! I don't even know what skin type I have, so any help would be appreciated. Problems: -dry skin around nose and eyebrows (T-zone?) -BUT shiny nose -redness/blotchy colouring -tiny blackheads around the base of my nose -JUST developed first blackhead on my forehead (between my eyebrows - possibly from an eyebrow waxing?) I have never had any acne and only get pimples/zits maybe once every month or two. In terms of skin care products, I currently only use Vichy anti-imperfection moisturizer. So not sure whether my skin is sensitive or not. If anyone has any advice on dealing with my skin problems, please let me know!!
*Also considering Amore Pacific LUminous or Refreshing sheet mask... Has anyone tried Guerlain Super Aqua Sheet Mask (or these others?_... it's expensive at $118 for six masks (a bit more than Sk-II, which I was also interested to try). This would help me meet the minimum purchase requirement for a GWP at BG ... Any input? I love sheet masks, currently When are my favorite. I think those are around $10 each, these are around $20 each. Not the end of the world, but pretty pricey.
