Hi! I"m 13 years old and am for looking some good skincare products. I have normal/dry skin with some acne here or there. I'm currently looking for a moisturizer and possibly eye cream? I currently use Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation moisturizer which I found out had anti aging properties in there which I feel I'm too young for... I use to use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer which I felt worked good for me but when I went to Sephora planning to buy it again the skincare woman there said it was for more mature skin than mine and recommended me Ole Henriksen? Anyways, I'm just trying to find a good moisturizer for normal - dry skin and possibly a good eye cream for dark circles? Thanks in advance!
So my brother and I were talking today and I managed to convince him to stop taking skin care advice from our father and tentatively consider using products actually meant for skin on his skin (so no, shampoo is not meant to be a body and face wash too for example). The catch is that he has never had any kind of skin care routine and doesn't really have an interest in anything that would take a lot of time or require leaning much and his description of his skin type is "I don't know, I think it must be kind of oily sometimes because I get bumps, but not much....". He's in is mid 30s. So I was thinking of starting him with something relatively simple like: 1) a cheapish exfoliating body wash (if anyone has any suggestions that don't smell to "girly" or "like that Axe crap", I'm all ears) and 2) a face wash that would be simple and kind of moisturizing. I was thinking maybe a bar would seem more familiar but am totally open to suggestions..... I saw there was now a trial size of the two Drunk Elephant cleanser bars at sephora and wondered about that, but wasn't sure if a bar was the way to go given that he has a beard and I've never tried them either, but I heard really good things and have been wondering about them myself so I'm torn..... Thoughts/Suggestions??????
I have tried so many. I'm struggling to find a moisturizer I love and that does not cause breakouts. I break out mainly on my cheeks, chin, and jaw/jawline. 1. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: This doesn't feel like enough hydration. I love the texture, I love the feel. This used to be my HG moisturizer but as I've gotten older it's just not enough. 2. Clinique Moisture Surge: Feels too silicone-y/plastic-y. May have caused breakouts. Belif Aqua Bomb: This is not oil-free and I think was causing me breakouts. 3. Boscia Black Hydration Gel: It was okay...but a skin rep at Sephora told me that using charcoal daily is not good for my skin because it pulls out impurities??? 4. Boscia Sake Balm: Soooo sticky. Weird/goopy texture. Returned. 5. Sunday Riley Tidal cream: Latest one I purchased. Has a lot of fragrance in it and I am afraid that is causing me breakouts/small bumps. It's $65 dollars and honestly has not wowed me in the last few days I have been using.
Hello, I have been watching alot of youtube videos on skincare routines and I recently jumped on the bandwagon. I have oily to combination skin. My t-zone is oily, but there are times that I get dryness on my forehead or chin. I have never dealt with dryness on my cheeks and I have dealt with acne from the 4th grade all the way to high school. I am currently 26 and I am the type of girl that really does not wear makeup at all except on special occasions. I do get facials on rare occasions at massage envy and they use the Murad skincare line. I love the murad products and they have worked really well with my skin. I also use drugstore brands and I have also invested in high end brands along with my Clarisonic Mia2. I want opinions on my skincare regimen if it is too much or is it good for me. This is my regimen: AM routine Murad Enviromental Shield started kit because my aesthetician recommended me that line since I have dryness around my eyes. The kit comes with: -Essential C cleanser -Intensive-C radiance peel (use 2x a week Monday & Friday) -Rapid age spot & pigment lightening serum -Essential-C day moisture -Essential-C eye cream I also use Murad acne spot fast fix as a spot treatment PM routine Monday, Wednesday & Friday -Biore baking soda pore cleanser -Biore baking soda cleansing scrub -Freemans cucumber facial peel (Monday & Friday) -Freemans avacado oatmeal clay mask (Wednesday) -Neutrogena acne stress control toner -Garnier moisture rescue refreshing gel cream (green bottle) -Garnier clearly brigther anti-puff eye roller Tuesday & Thursday -Biore deep pore charcoal cleanser -Clarasonic mia2 -Boscia charcoal pore pudding -Neutrogena acne stress control toner -Garnier moisture rescue refreshing gel cream -Garnier clearly brigther anti-puff eye roller Saturday -Biore charcoal cleanser -Clarisonic mia2 -Biore one minute self heating mask -Biore pore strip -Neutrogena acne stress control toner -Garnier gel cream -Garnier eye roller Sunday I use my glamglow products. I have Supercleanse, Youthcleanse, Thirstycleanse, Supermud and Thirstymud. I try to alternate each cleanser with with the mask every week (ex. Supercleanse with supermud one week, then super cleanse with thirstymud the other, then youthcleanse with supermud, youthcleanse with thirstymud, etc) Let me know what yall thik about it. I really need advice. Thanks!!
I'm 19 years old. I usually breakout on my forehead and cheeks. My cheeks seem to have a lot of redness due to the red bumps I get. Anything to help control it? I also have a combo of oil and dry skin along with sensitive skin. It's frustrating because my face color is so uneven due to the redness.
I live in a place where the sun is not out regularly and vitamin D are highly recommended by doctors and needed on a daily basis because we do not get as much sun as new york. I was wondering if there is an oil, lotion, cleanser, mist, anything that can deal with combo/normal skin that has guaranteed VITAMIN D in the ingredients that truly work on my skin. Thank You!!
Hi. I'm looking for a new skin care routine and I'm torn between the Fresh Umbrian Clay collection and the Laneige line for combination to oily skin. My cheeks are usually very dry and my t zone is oily so I'm not sure what products would be best. Any suggestions?
I'm hoping you guys can help me find a new skin care routine that will work for my super sensitive skin since most of my go-tos have been discontinued. I'm in my mid-30s but am usually mistaken for someone in their late teens or early twenties when I'm not dressed for work. The biggest issue is that my skin is SUPER sensitive (as in trying to use Algenists gentle cleanser and oil at night started out OK but within a couple of hours was red enough and burning badly enough that I not only needed to wash everything off but it had to be treated with cortisone cream. I don't know if the skin sensitivities are just aging or related to my worsening RA/Fibro & meds, but either way it makes it crazy hard to find products that work. To give you an idea, here are products I've used in the past and ones that I've tried and that haven't worked. What I'd really like is a new routine that can keep my skin in great shape and help me with the early signs of aging that I am just beginning to see around my eyes. Overall my skin leans towards dry (worse in winter & middle of summer because of central heating/AC) with occasional breakouts. I've read some really good things about Drunk Elephant being exceptional for sensitive skin and so wondered about that, but also about Sunday Riley or Nude or almost anything else anyone could suggest.... Products I currently use: Acure's 100% Argan oil (at this point I use this as my main moisturizer because I haven't found anything else) Korres Milk Cleanser (loved the old formula, find the new just a bit more drying and scented) Origins Modern Friction Bosica's Black mask Things I've tried in the past and liked: Chanel's Beauty Initiale (face cream & eye cream) Caudalie Lip & Eye Serum (liked the consistency but didn't seem to do much) Various Prescriptives moisturizers (but they don't really have anything anti-aging) Prescriptive's Vibrant C eye cream (which I also liked a lot but I think is more of a camo solution then actually helping long term and since I found myself usually using it at night, didn't seem like a good fit). So I am really looking for new routine but particularly cleanser, eye cream, day and/or night anti-aging treatment (could be part of an oil or moisturizer too), and moisturizer and any help would be greatly appreciated as well as feedback from fellow super-sensitive skin who've tried Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, Nude, etc.

Hello! Please help! I'm 24 and have normal skin, I think it is a little dry, but I've been told its normal by my dermatologist. I have some flakiness around my hair line, on my earlobes, and on my cheeks. I have little to no acne, (some mild acne scars from my teenage years, but nothing serious). I have bought and tried "skin care routines" before and I think they made my skin worse. They made them more dry, and more irritated. Im looking for very healthy, hydrated, and easy to work with skin. Right now makeup looks god awful on my skin, exposes and enhances my dryness and you can see more clearly the cracks in my skins, especially on the bridge of my nose, my cheeks, and in between my eyebrows. I don't have a set "skin care routine" because of lack of knowledge, there is so much out there that Im just not sure what will ACTUALLY help, without wasting all my money. I use a mild cleanser (Cetaphil) in the morning to wash my face after I work out, and if I put on makeup that day, I use Purity to wash at night. The only "moisturizer" I use that seems to help aid my makeup wear for the next day is a simple bath and body works lotion. *cringe* I know... I have yet to try a moisturizer that I can use at night and in the morning that will actually hydrate my skin and prep it for the day, with or without makeup. I have no idea how to really treat and care for my skin, Im not sure the order of things, or what products I'm supposed to use to help my skin look its best, with or without makeup. Please help me better understand what I need to do to help my skin stay hydrated and look its best! Thank you !
Has anyone tried either of these moisturizers and can compare them? Or has even tried one of them? I've been using the Amore Pacific one (I got a sample) for a few days and it seems okay but hasn't really been doing much for my skin. Also I broke out a lot the next few days. (Not sure if because of the moisturizer or because of my hormonal acne). Also the fragrance is SO strong, which isn't supposed to be good for skin. I haven't tried the Belif one though. I want to get a sample of the Belif moisturizer but I was going to wait until the VIB sale to order. However you can't use a promo code and get a deluxe sample at the same time which sucks… and they don't sell it in store. So I'll either have to make another order or just buy the product. I have combination-oily acne prone skin, fyi.
Hi everyone- so I need some desperate help and advice...I have combination skin that I have been trying to tackle with blemishes that I can't seem to avoid. Using cleansers with salicylic acid dries me out. But I have been using the clinique acne gel spot treatment for flare ups. I have tried the Ren clarimatte cleanser and the Ren clay cleanser and was that happy with the results. I tried the Boscia warming cleanser and that did not seem to give me the results I wanted either. I am now on to the GLAMGLOW supercleanser and I have only been using it for just about a month and I don't seem sold on it either. I don't know if I am over doing it for my skin or not. Should I try to FAB red clay cleanser or a Murad one? Should be trying something more gentle and no so focused on acne/blemishes? Also what kind of moisturizer would benefit me the most as well? I have been using the Ren clarimatte gel moisturizer and I do like that but is there something else that would help me...Please help!
I recently purchased it because it said it was good for brightening benefits. My concern is that I may be too young to be using it because of the anti-aging benefits. Is that true? And at what age should I start using products for anti-aging benefits?
Hello!! I know there are a few threads on here about Korean skincare but I was hoping to get some opinions tailored to my own skin. I have pretty normal skin, dry in the winter, and acne prone. I currently have a second cleanse that I will not part with (Yüli Halcyon) and two toners I love (Herbivore coco rose and Yüli Panacea) but I will take all kinds of recommendations! I'm most curious about essences though, I was looking between the Missha essence and the Benton snail bee essence. Can anyone give some insight into budget friendly (but still gives results) products?
Hi everyone! I'm on the hunt for a new foundation. I love my smash box foundation but i want to try something new because it's been sticking to my dry patches recently. I generally have combination skin, but I've noticed it's been really dry the last couple of months. I would love a foundation that is medium coverage and will not stick to my dry patches and make my skin look flaky, while also giving a luminous finish. I absolutely love the glow/Dewy skin look especially since my skin is so dull in the winter. Thanks for your help and suggestions!
Am looking for a moisturizer that fits my needs and preferences, but don't know where to start... I have combo skin - some normal, oily and dry patches. I really like gel textures - my current moisturizer is gel. I would be willing to try a gel-cream one though. Preferably under 75$ as I am a college student, lol. Thanks!
I am looking for a new moisturizer for my skin (mainly at night but sometimes day as well) Currently I am on a new routine from my derm to hopefully get my skin in check..... Clyndamycin lotion in the morning, adapalene gel at night, and spriolactane(?) every day I use fresh soy cleanser in the morning, and as a double cleanse if i wear makeup after using nude omega jelly or algenist genius oil cleanser Other than that- I have stopped using all other skin care products in hope that this routine will work! Let me know if you have any suggestions I can add to maintain moisture yet keep oil from the clyndamycin at bay- and generally keep my skin clear, smooth, and happy!
Hey everyone! I'm in serious need of a moisturizer and I'm having great trouble trying to look for one that actually works for my skin. My skin is oily on my t-zone but parts like the sides of my chin, my cheeks, and the sides of my eyes are very very dry and its really affecting me because everyone needs a moisturizer but i just cant find one that works. I've recently tried the Clinique Dramatically Different face gel for combination/oily skin but it just dried out my face, it was amazing for my t-zone but not for my dry areas, My skin is also very blemish prone so the gel also caused me to breakout a lot. So please someone give me recommendations because the dryness of the parts of my face that i mentioned are starting to become a problem due to the fact that i don't use any moisturizer at all. Any help will be amazing. Thank you!
Hi ! I'm 24 years old, have oily t-zone/combo/acne prone skin. I have my breakout under control, just the regular one during that time of the month. I normally use the Neutrogena morning burst face wash but it contains salicylic acid, which makes my skin dry and my face overworks, making it oilier in like 3 days. I want to change my cleanser, add a charcoal mask and use a moisturizer (which I've never used because I've always thought it would create more oil on my face). I use Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel for combination to oily skin before I apply make-up (this gel was recommended by a Sephora employee). I was thinking Origins checks and balances frothy face wash, FAB face cleanser or Glamglow Supercleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser. Another person suggested Philosophy's Purity made simple but I've never used any of their products. For charcoal mask, the white one from glamglow or the Origins one (or the set Mini Mask Marvels?). And for moisturizer, I only have in mind FAB's ultra repair cream intense hydration. I would like something sensitive, that's not too harsh on my face and doesn't make it oilier than it is. Plus, I live on the Caribbean, so if there's a moisturizer with SPF, better. I don't need something super hydrating, I would prefer something light. Please help ! If you have other recommendations besides these 3 lines, let me know all about it P.S. just found the Boscia Charcoal pore pudding intensive wash-off treatment. What do you think comparing it to Glamglow and origins? Thanks in advance!
i'm almost 45, looking for a retinol product to add to my evening regimen. I have normal/combination skin. I use Clinique and PTR right now. I have minor breakouts every now and then, when I'm stressed or overtired mostly. I've done some research but can't make sense of what I should be using.
