I know exfoliating is important, and I was wondering which you'd recommend between the Philosophy Microdelivery peel (2-step) and Exfolikate... or are they not even the same thing?

I know this might be tangentially related, but how do these products compare to Dr. Brandt's microdermabrasion? I luuuuurve it, and it seems to exfoliate well, but I have a lot of hyperpigmentation to get rid of, so maybe one of these others would work faster?

I have never tried Exfloikate and I am glad to read the advise about this product on this thread. Now I will stick with the Philosophy product. BTW I have oily skin and this product works great for me!

Hi forkyfork.
Both of these products are great for exfoliating the skin and clearing buildups of debris that may be clogging your pores and preventing your skin from looking its finest.
The Philosophy Microdelivery Peel is a 2 step process where you gently massage your skin for 1-3 minutes and then apply a thin layer of the activator gel. The gel then turns foamy and warms to your skin. You will want to leave this foamy layer on for a minute and then gently rinse off. Philosophy is a great line if you have slightly more sensitive skin and this set is great for all skin types except active-acne skin.
I'm a huge fan of the Kate Somerville Exfolikate because it is a quick 30 second exfoliator that needs to be applied to wet skin, massaged on and then instantly rinsed off in 20 to 30 seconds. The Exfolikate warms to the skin after being massaged on, and is excellent for leaving a glowing complexion without dead skin cells, clogged pores, or a film of residue. If you need a quick product that won't take too much time and you do not have sensitive skin, I would suggest this as your best option. ![]()

I have used both of these products. If your skin is the least bit sensitive, please be careful if you use the "Exfolikate". I made the mistake of trying it and had red, blotchy, burning, torn up and irritated skin for two days. IMO it is exceedingly harsh, and I don't believe it can possible be good for your skin given the damage and redness. The Philosophy product on the other hand gives a great result and is not damaging at all. I am so glad that I, 1. did not buy the Exfolikate product, it was a sample, and 2. didn't have to go anywhere on the day I tried it. It was awful. Thank goodness Sephora offers samples.

Thanks for your help. Would I use both these products or is just one good enough?
