In a Clinique Rut

(0) Hearts

I have been using Clinique for years now and I feel like my skin has gotten used to it. I dont feel like my skin is responding the same way it used to.

I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel & All About Eyes

Any Suggestions???

Combination skin - oily T-zone & dry

you should use a different product because all the clinique products are formulated the same way so your skin gets used to it and won't respond as well> I love ddf for my skin

I second the Garnier suggestion. More and more I see them winning beauty awards and getting a lot of honourable mentions for their skincare line.

Other affordable brands to try: Avon Anew line and Olay regenerist line (also massively popular)

As for high-end I love Clarins.

if you loved the DDMG and the all about eyes from Clinique I think you may love the Clarins Hydraquench Cooling Cream gel for Normal to Combination skin or Hot Climates.

and if you loved All about eyes you may like Clarins Special Eye Contour Balm (though it lacks any SPF).

Hope this helps!

ladymb,

I recommend Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel - Cream. It's alot like Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (almost a dupe) except you can buy it at Target for $6.99 and it has a light grape scent. In my opinion, it is even better than Clinique's version! Good luck! :smileyhappy:

It might be time to change to something else.

Sometimes products get reformulated and do not work as effectively as you once remember them doing so.  Rarely have I ever been able to adapt to a reformulation while others have no issues.  Even had one of those start burning my skin with in minutes.  That one came off immediately.

Also skin changes over time.  Strange enough, once I hit 25, I started getting dry patches on my cheeks.  It was kind of baffling since I was used to always getting oil control stuff.  Had to completely rethink how to shop for my skin.

With that, I cannot give you a good suggestion on what works best for your skin.  Everyone reacts to products differently.  Currently you are using gels so you may look into a light emulsion type of product (light weight consistency, goes on easily and is non greasy in texture).  Probably not a cream though since you've said that you still have an oily t-zone.

If there's a Sephora close by, pick up a few samples.  Give it about a week or two and see what works best.  Discard if there are more negative or immediate irritations.  If your skin still feels dry or dehydrated after a few minutes, it's not working either.
