appointment at sephora for 12 yr old
My daughter starting to like make-up and I'm not the type of wearing make up and can't teach her much. I just don't want her to put too much or wrong make up for her face also it could be a nice gift for her birthday. Is it ok to make an appointment with a beauty advisor at Sephora, she is 12.  Is is too young, too soon to make an appointment with a beauty advisor for her at sephora? What about the classes? Thanks

What are your favorite fall/winter time staples?
I'm sitting here with my soft plush blanket and warm cat on my lap feeling very happy it's getting chilly. Got me to thinking, what are some good fall/winter staples for fragrance, lotion, makeup...etc? Doesn't even have to be about beauty. Do you love peppermint mochas from Starbucks? What Holiday sets have you already purchased?
I know some of us are waiting for the big sale before we start purchasing holiday sets but I also know some of us have already purchased a few. Which holiday sets have you guys already purchased this year and what are your thoughts on them?    So far the only thing I've gotten is the Tarte Chic to Cheek blush set. I am completely obsessed with the four mini blushes and really just needed some new blush in my life. The shades in the set are exactly the types of blushes I gravitate towards and I just couldn't resist.

Can't spend points in store?
I visit my local Sephora every couple weeks and always loved that whenever I purchased something I could spend my Beauty Insider points to get a sample of something along with my purchase. But starting a couple months ago I went into Sephora and although I was told "you have xx points" at the register, I was never once asked if I wanted to spend my points or anything. I have since gone to 2 different Sephora's in different cities (moved across the country) and I now have over 1000 points but still have not been encouraged nor even asked to spend my points (when they used to always do that). I honestly see no point in shopping in the actual stores anymore if this is now the policy. I'll come in to the store to swatch shades, but I may as well order online and get a better selection of products, free samples, and actually be able to use my points.   So I'm just wondering has this happened to anyone else? Is this a new policy of not asking people to spend their points? It's not exactly encouraging people to try to new products...

Clarisonic Smart Profile - First impression Review!!
I was very lucky and blessed to win the Clarisonic giveaway last week and I received the device kit yesterday in the morning!! Let me first say, Thank you Sephora and Clarisonic for this awesome giveaway!   I didn't expect Sephora would send me the kit this fast though.  (BTW, am I the first winner who got this??)  I couldn't move any faster to open the box. The device kit was much bigger than I thought it would be, plus a congratulation memo from Sephora .   I roughly went through the manual first and learned that I have to charge the device for 24 hours prior to the first use. So I charged it and tried it today. I think I've never been excited to go home and wash my face . Who knew I would be this excited to take off my make up, lol.  As soon as I came home, I ran straight to my bathroom and used the device. And you know what? It's AMAZING!   I've been using Neutrogena Microdermabraison system over a year. And it's the only cleansing device I've ever tried. I heard a lot of good things about Clarisonic, but I never reached out for one because of its price tag. I'm more of a makeup girl and I don't spend my fortune for skincare. I was quite happy with my Neutrogena system and would've been forever happy with it only if I didn't know how good Clarisonic is!!   As I'm entering my late 20's, I've noticed that my pores are getting bigger and I spotted more blackheads on my nose. These were the reasons I bought the Neutrogena system at the first place. But holly molly! Clarisonic is so much softer and moisturizing(?) and also doesn't leave me the tingly or itchy feelings and redness on my face that Neutrogena always gave me.   I think it's the brush that makes the biggest difference. The Clarisonic brush is so soft compared to the Neutrogena pad (not brush). The pad has a bit of sand feeling on the surface (Feels like a scrub that has really big particles in it). And I don't get how it could even moisturize my face. I guess moisturizing is not really a proper term here, but I actually feel like my face is very moistened after using it without any noticeable redness on my cheeks and forehead. Every time I used Neutrogena, my face turned quite red for a few hours, but Clarisonic didn't make my cheeks that red at all! My face is very smooth and feels like baby skin now. I can't stop rubbing my cheeks (perv alert!).    I also have to mention how nice the device stand is. The stand makes easy to place the device. And the charger is magnetic. These are just little something, but very nice little something . Overall I think this device is so worth the money and deserves a good review.   I was actually ready to criticize this product before using it. I didn't want to be all so nice because I got it free. Yet I'm only telling you guys how good it is because I can't literally think of any con right now. (I used it only for once. I'm not sure if I'll find some cons in the future.)   If I knew Clarisonic is this great, I would've bought one with my own money a long time ago. I'm wondering how Smart profile is different from previous models though. Anyway I'm seriously so thankful for this giveaway to let me have this wonderful device in my life! What a beautiful night for me!!   *I didn't mean to write this long.. but I had so much to tell you guys!! lol

Please read if you are new to BT!!!!
I found an older thread I actually wanted to "bump" to the first page, but it has now been marked as read only, so I decided to start my own thread. I genuinely hope no one takes any offence to this, because I mean only to help others. It was not  that  long ago that I was new to BT myself!   I have noticed there have been a lot of questions asked lately that have been asked hundreds of times before (ok that might be a  slight  exaggeration but not much of one!).   So to all the new users, welcome to BT! There is a ton of useful information and threads to be found on BT. I hope that before posting you will all take the time to do a quick search and see if your question has been asked before! Even if the thread is older, commenting on it will bump it back to the main page so others will be able to see it and comment on it. Also, there is a "Follow This Thread" button to the right side of the thread. Clicking that button will ensure you get an e-mail when someone responds to the thread. This is a good way to be notified when someone responds to your question. For fast moving threads, you may find you are receiving too many messages, but you can easily unfollow the thread by clicking the button again, which will change to "Stop Following This Thread."    We seem to be seeing so many repetitive questions such as "I have oily skin, what <insert product type here> should I use." Or "I have thinning hair, what products should I use." There are some incredibly educated and intelligent contributors with what seems like an endless amount of knowledge, so I encourage you (and I'm sure I'm not the only who does) to search before posting a thread if it's been asked a lot. I hope you understand my intent of this comment is not to discourage anyone from posting. By all means, that is not the case at all! Just keep in mind your question may already have been asked and answered! And if you don't find the answer to your question, then of course ask so we all can help. Just because a thread is older doesn't mean it's still not full of useful, legitimate information!   When I first started using BT, several helpful people pointed out that I could search and find answers to questions that had already been asked. When I was a noob, I also found it very useful to read the posts on the Welcome/Getting Started pages. There is very helpful information here, such as community standards and how-to type posts. Please read up on these; they will be very helpful for you! If you're like me, you don't want to violate community standards or not know to do work the boards.    http://community.sephora.com/t5/Welcome-Getting-St arted/bd-p/Welcome   Here is the read-only thread I was referring to:  http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/An-ode-t o-the-search-feature/m-p/1210177#M85303   Here is something very useful for all of us to remember from the BT Guidelines:   Best and worst practices   WE LOVE WE DON’T LOVE Using a descriptive title for your posts. Using vague subject titles like “HELP!” Reading other responses before posting. Repeating information already provided. Asking for clarification when necessary. Making assumptions. Contributing to the discussion. Excessively quoting previous messages. Focusing on your areas of beauty expertise. Offering advice on unfamiliar topics. Being as concise as possible. Overwhelming readers with information. Trying to use correct spelling and grammar. Worrying if your spelling isn’t perfect. Staying on topic. Getting off topic. Remaining positive. Disparaging (insult) products or people. Trying to understand opposing viewpoints. Arguing with other posters. Being friendly! Using foul language or off-color humor. I'll climb down from my soapbox now. Enjoy your day and, again, welcome to BT! We're excited to have you!!   Mods, if this is not posted in the right area, please move it to the appropriate place. I just hope it can be somewhere that it shows up on the main page, so many can see it!

Looks like PinkTober is upon us. This means new items For Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Well, it's that time of the year again - the time when we get to buy special products for ourselves (and others) and possibly feel a little less guilty about spending, knowing that a portion of the money we spend goes to a worthy cause.    Breast Cancer is not just something for women to worry about, it is a disease that men can be diagnosed with too.   * I was hoping we could all post products that we find that support legitimate charities to raise money, Please feel free to post whatever you find.*  If you search "Beauty That Gives Back" here at Sephora you'll find a few cute items, I"m hoping there are more to come. I Just bought a pink Tweezerman tweezer - looks like it may need a BCA mate. Clinique and Sephora both offer "BCA Pink With a Purpose" Lipstick in a cute little case.   A Huge fave of mine is by Bobbi Brown - it's "Pretty Pink Ribbon Lip Gloss Collection" It's 4 glosses and they're gorgeous! (I'm hoping they're minty flavored - sometimes they do offer mint gloss - waiting on that info.) This one is really screaming my name! Estee Lauder usually does something as does Ford (they usually have special T-shirts.)   So many decisions to make, but it's so worth it. For a pinkaholic like me, this is a dream & a nightmare! But hopefully our purchases will help make other peoples true nightmares - past, present and future - turn into a dream come true.   So please feel free to add any other offers you may find.  Oh, just one other thing, please feel free to leave one of everything pink for me!   btw - As usual, sorry so long. I also hope the wording of this was okay, didn't want to use certain words that might upset someone or make light of this situation at all - I hope that came through.

Have you tried Perricone MD Chloro Plasma or white GlamGlow?
Anyone here uses Perricone MD Chloro Plasma? I think I'm really loving it, but I'm not sure if it's the hype or if it's really working. The good thing is it's available in .5oz so I can give it a good go without splurging for the full size *cough* white glamglow *cough*......   ....speaking of which, I've also heard some ppl have problem of the GlamGlow harden before they were able to finish it, eventho you supposedly can just add water to it.....anyone had that problem?
