Exercise Log
I know we have a thread where we' talk about being healthier and such, and much like the challenges for makeup, this will be a challenge for exercise. Today I finally decided "Enough of this slugging around."        I just finished one mile  at a 3 mile speed and switching to 2.5 once in a while.    If you're starting this journey with me, please check out (I hope Malday doesn't mind me calling the thread this) - the sister thread. Here you will find healthy recipes, AND delicious as well. I'll be including some vegan/vegetarian recipes mainly.   http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/The-Reci pe-Thread/m-p/1845978/highlight/true#M101081   So I won't title this 30 day challenge, but I will aim for 30 days and keep going from there, hopefully.   Here's an image of some stretches provided by the lovely ShannonAlexis:

Felt bullied and hurt by sephora SA today.. A New return procedure?
Sorry for the long rant but I need to get this out, it's eating me up inside..maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm not. But I feel upset nonetheless.    I went to sephora to return a couple of items today..I brought up to cash 1 item to price check on and took out my returns. She told me the price and I said no thanks since it was $4 less online at sephora's site so she put it away. I took out my items and told her only 1 didn't have a reciept (I mention its in my purchase history I'm sure) and rest I do have receipts and yes products have been tried. She proceeded to scan then inspect while asking reason for return which I know is fine and normal..So the first non receipt item I say I bought it in dec I think and the liquid lipstick set seems separated as with initial use it squirted oil out instead of actual color and she gives me a smug look and proceeds to squeeze each tube in the set and show me like I'm wrong..then the second item she scans I had the receipt but realised it was the wrong one (brought the survey portion in error..my bad I was in a hurry) so I say I'll bring the item back with proper receipt so she says its scanned already so she will just process with that other item, I say fine and think to myself I'll use the store credit anyway then  she scans the final item that was an online purchase that thankfully I had the invoice for and reason was that the item arrived defective and she looks at me like I damaged it. I say I got it yesterday and that's how it was..another smug look with a very sarcastic "ahuh". Then when all is done, she refunds just my online purchase to my cc then she says ok so what are you buying and suddenly in a high pitched voice, where's the other item you just had it was just here ( price check item that she put away)..she acted like I slipped it in my purse, so I mention I didn't want it remember you put it away and that I'm ok with merchandise credit today coz I don't have time to look around, my kids crying but she says "no you can't and go get something for exchange only" . I feel so humiliated and speechless and in my panic I grab whatever coz I need to tend to my kid at that point it had already taken so long. I felt like she bullied me into buying and I would have appreciated if she mentioned a new policy change or whatever when I told her i didn't have a receipt..so she then hands over the new receipt with my new products and it has red stamps all across with "exchange only".    Thank you sephora for making me feel like a criminal today. I know I dont matter to you.

A Review: Belif True Cream Aqua and Moisturizing Bomb comparison etc
With the harsh wind and negative degree weather, I've been fighting to make sure my face doesn't shrivel up and flake off. Sephora, or rather, BeautyTalk seems to have read my mind and sent me two moisturizers from the new line Belif that Sephora now carries for me to dissect, play with and use. Spoiler (Highlight to read) While I'm familiar with most popular Korean skincare brands like Amore Pacific, Innisfree, Etude House, Nature Republic...... I have never heard of Belif until now. A google/youtube/random Korean forum search turned up mostly press-release/promotional articles with only a handful of reviews. Some poking at their brand website/social media told me their online presence started in 2010 and they started becoming popular/getting award ~2012, so it's a relatively new brand (eventho the herbal practice and fancy blah blah are based on 150yr old practice from Europe). But anyways, onto the product review!   The moisturizers come in a thick and sturdy plastic jar. The packaging have a clean and natural feel to it. I think it's cute how the cap looks like dandy black hats, but more relevantly, THANKYOU for printing the expiration date on the bottom of the jar instead of me having to go hunt for it. NOTE: Dates for most Asian products are printed as day/month/year, or in this case May 20th, 2017.   Belif The True Cream - Moisturizing Bomb Description in image above, ingredients list in image below. Upon opening up the inner lid, a pretty strong spicy scent hit my nose......ginger with a hint of radish? However, the scent lessens as you apply it onto your face and mostly goes away after 10-20 minutes. It is a white medium/heavy weight cream that feels pretty luxe on the skin. It spreads easily, but takes a while to sink in and for the greasy feeling to disappear. I applied what I thought was a normal amount but it took an hour to sink in completely, so I guess you don't need a lot. Comparison : The thickness reminds me of Ole Henriksen Truth creme but this feels creamier, slightly greasy, while OH feels a bit more silicone-y. This is lighter than Murad Hydrodynamic moisturizer and L'occitane Shea. Skin type : great for dry skin, also appropriate for combination/normal skin but apply sparingly. It didn't irritate even near lashline or on sensitive/just healed skin (due to scar/pimple) so I'd say it should be safe for sensitive skin, unless you are sensitive to alcohol, dimethicone or plant extracts.   Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb Description in back of packaging image above, ingredients list in image below. Upon opening the inner lid, there is a strong fresh, juicy scent with a hint of spicy. The scent is milder, and fresher/cleaner, than Moisturizing Bomb and goes away quite easily. It is a medium weight gel cream that spreads easily and sinks in well. There's no sensation but that of water and the skin drinking it in. It feels weightless on the skin with no residue after a few minutes but the skin stay hydrated. Comparison : It is a bit thicker than other gel moisturizers I like to use in the summer (Bliss Oxygen+C, Clinique yellow gel, Clinique Moisture surge gel cream), takes a bit longer to sink in, and feels a bit more hydrating. It reminds me of Philosophy Take a Deep Breathe, but I think this feels nicer on the skin (and Philosophy TDB's got micro shimmer in it, what?) Skin Type: best for combination/normal skin. It probably also works for dry skin in the summer or oily skin in the winter. If your skin is truly very oily, I recommend try something lighter than this.   Overall impression . I like them! You know how sometimes the moisturizer feels oil-based, water/gel-based or silicone-based? both moisturizers do contain silicone but I can't feel them. Sometimes I also have the problem where the moisturizer end up flaking/peeling off or rolling into little balls on my skin, but even when I applied these two moisturizers generously, there is no flaking. The only thing I can nitpick about these two moisturizers is that they take awhile to sink in, but they leave the skin soft and hydrated. I like them and would recommend them to everyone for winter, but I would not recommend them for summer unless you've got dry skin, or at least remember to apply sparingly.

ISO/Want to Buy: Bite Beauty Luminous Creme lipstick duo in Poppy/Scarlet OR Limited #001
Hello and thanks for looking!   I'm in search of the Bite Beauty luminous creme lipstick duo of Poppy/Scarlet. If any of you have this little baby for sale, please PM me! I want to buy it so badly!!!   It came in 2 different sets:   1. Bite's "Mix n' Mingle lip mini" ornaments (Holiday 2014, Sephora)   2. Bite's "Mix N' Mingle" set (2014 Holiday set at Sephora)       I could be patient and it'll probably be available in a set or individually next holiday.... but if any of you have one that you haven't used and want to sell or trade, please PM me! Thanks!   Alternatively, if you bought Bite's Limited Release #001 from January 2015, and received a reformulated version, you probably don't know what to do with your (possibly swatched or used) original version. If you want to offload it, I'd be happy to buy it! If it's been used, I will still be willing to pay $20 for it, as I'll just sanitize it myself when I receive it.   Thanks!   P.S. Fresh Lotus Preserve Eye Cream
I am very grateful to have received the Fresh Lotus Preserve Eye Cream as a gift from Sephora. I have Rosacea and am sensitive to a lot of things. I have hope because the Fresh Cleanser has worked very well for me in the past.  I will try this product for a few weeks and post before and after pictures. Wish me luck ladies!   From the Sephora site it states: What it is: A lightweight formula that illuminates while delivering 24-hour moisture for a radiant, youthful-looking glow around the eye area. Product page Q&A rant
I have a rant. It's not about BT, but about the sephora.com product pages' Q&A section.   For some inexplicable reason, I keep opening the Q&As looking for answers to my questions, then getting sucked in by all the other questions. Then I get irrationally irritated by the answers, but keep reading instead of closing them. Then I get sucked into answering questions too. There are many things I see over and over again that irritate me to no end, and I needed to blow off some steam… So, knowing full well I'll probably get blowback, here goes nothing:   1. Does no one read the other answers before asking a question? You see page after page of people asking the same question, including the ones highlighted when you first open the section for having the most helpful answers. I understand the same questions being repeated in BT because there are so many pages and posts to sift through - but the Q&A minimizes answers and even the products with the most questions don't really have that many pages, and even fewer unique questions. There is also a search function. I also understand that questions aren’t posted instantly, so a few people could theoretically ask the same question without the answer already being there, but I’ve never had a question take more than a few hours to post (not the 72 it says), and I don’t believe for 1 second you can get 7 pages of literally the same question from different people (true story!) in that amount of time. Or that a question with 0 answers is one posted while the same question with 8 answers, each with multiple votes, was in limbo. 2. Don't ask for the ingredients when they are already listed on the product page. They aren't always, so then it makes sense to ask for them. But when the full list is right there at the top of the page, under the tab named "ingredients," it just proves you didn't bother to read the page first. This is most irritating for new products, when you know the ingredients were listed on the page right from the start. This also goes along the same lines as asking the same question over and over again, because it's usually the most commonly overasked & answered question. I understand that you didn't know about the tabs, but you can't say you didn't see the already answered question, first on the page, with multiple answers of full ingredients lists.   3. Asking "Is this x-free?" when it's in bullet point form, under the bolded heading “What it is formulated WITHOUT,” in the default description. You really didn't read this page before asking the question. Again, not all pages have this, or didn’t back when the questions section was introduced, so it's understandable that you have/had to ask... but, seriously, don't ask a new question when the answer is already there! It’s not as blatantly stupid, but asking “Is this x-free?” when there is already a complete list of very simple ingredients, and “x” is not one of them, is marginally irritating (such as asking if there is oil, parabens, bismuth or soy in a product explicitly described as 100% silica). It’s not irritating when there is a long list of fancy words, or the scientific names of ingredients are not their common names, or when “x” is actually a category so multiple ingredients apply. What is blatantly stupid is asking “I know this says it’s 100% “x,” but can anyone tell me what else is in it?” (again, true story)   4. My biggest pet peeves, really, come in the answers. The absolute single worst one is the response, "I have no idea." IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA, JUST DON'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!   5. In response to the question, "Is [this] better than [that]?": (actual quote) "100% YES it is better. I haven’t personally tried [that] but..." FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, REALLY??? Don't give answers to comparison questions when you haven't tried both products! Your opinion may matter elsewhere, but it is not relevant here.   6. The most irritating to me personally, are the ones that give wrong scientific information based on what they've "heard" or read posted online by scaremongers and not fact-checked (or even read the comments on their post where the real facts are often posted by someone calling them out). Or, worse, people who post a relevant job title to lend credence, but then post misinformation in their post. I actually have a background in Life Sciences, concentration in Pharmacology & Toxicology, so I not only have some scientific knowledge, I spent a lot of time in school learning how to find correct information that I don't know, and how to fact-check studies and advertising, which I also learned you absolutely must do. When someone says, "I'm an RN and yes, X is harmful," but X isn't actually the ingredient in the product, that's even worse than, "Yes, I've heard it's harmful so you should be worried." It's super easy to fact-check, but barely anyone does it because it's easier and less time consuming to just believe and repeat what you read. Especially if someone is posting irrelevant scientific information to back up their claim - seems legit, unless you know the MSDS they are referencing is for a different compound with a similar common name, or that the compound is perfectly safe and FDA approved, except in massive doses, and they are posting the info relating to the massive doses.   Ok, rant concluded. If you actually made it through that monster post, commence onslaught.

Another one bites the dust... Lost makeup that may or may not ever be found.
A couple of days ago I was using one of my Tarte Matte Lipsurgence's and set it down for a minute in my vehicle. Suddenly it was nowhere in sight. I checked everywhere and it's gone. Adding to my frustration it was a limited edition color that I've grown quite fond of. I wonder if it will magically pop up years later, like when the same thing happened with my Lancome juicy tube that was my favorite. Anyone else have this happen to them? It's very frustrating because I'm ocd when it comes to losing makeup products. I will basically tip over the whole house/ car until I find them. And if I don't it haunts me for a long time. lol

Prices more expensive in store?!
I just purchased an Anastasia brow pencil from Sephora in stores for $30 this morning. And than i checked online this afternoon, and noticed that it's priced at $27. Is it always more expensive to buy in store compared to online? Never noticed this since I always buy online...(also the smashbox contour kit was same price online and in store)   I just think it's kind of unfair since I could have got more samples and used a code online, guess I will be returning the pencil tomorrow and repurchasing online even though it's $3, just does not sit right with me.

Wrong product!
Hi, I bought the wrong Chanel perfume by mistake in Paris. I still have the packaging and receipt, but I am now back in London. How can I return or exchange the item? Thanks.

Rant: Stop Being So Stingy With Samples Sephora Stores!
Can someone explain to me why Sephora stores are so stingy with samples? I have gotten so turned off from shopping at any Sephora location this past year. I can't be the only one who now only buys online because the SAs lie, refuse to give out samples and act as if you are personally inconveniencing them and taking money out their pocket by asking if there are any samples for the day or if you can get one for a specific product. I have been to numerous stores only to be told "We don't have any" when I can clearly see boxes full behind the counter. I have also been told that the only samples I could get are the ones redeemed for points and "They will make you any sample you want", but my apologies if I don't want to put something on my face that a million people have stuck their dirty fingers in or used (particularly the case with jars/tubs and most makeup). All the testers are breeding grounds for nasty bacteria. Despite their claims that they clean everything regularly, I have seen tons of people apply lipstick/lipgloss/mascara using the brush it comes with, then putting it back and contaminating the entire product. I don't share mascara with my friends, so I definitely don't want to with 100 strangers.    I am always tempted to just cancel my purchase and go home and buy it online when I am told there are no samples. There is no reason to waste my money there and get no samples when I can order from home and get at least 3 foils and a deluxe sample (often more) for free, along with free shipping. Does Sephora still not realize that samples encourage us to buy more products? I cant tell you how many products I have bought full sizes of only because I got a free sample, tried it and loved it. There have also been many products I thought I would love, but tried a sample of and hated, therefore not wasting Sephoras time or money by buying it, hating it and returning it. They should be throwing samples at us left and right and offering samples of products when we ask for recommendations. Especially to us Rouge members who have spent thousands. We shouldn't have to ask and receive weird looks and attitude, they should just put them in your bag at checkout. During one of the only pleasant experiences I have had at Sephora, a trainer for the company who helped me told me that anytime you go to the counter and ask for samples and they say "we have none" that they are lying. He showed me that almost all the drawers under the displays are filled with samples and back stocked product and that they have foil or deluxe samples for most products (despite them always trying to make you one from the tester). He also told me that most of these samples are given to Sephora by the companies for free, so there is no reason they should be stingy with the samples because they cost them nothing and encourage you to buy more products. You would think that Sephora would want to encourage us to shop in store where they can convince us into buying more and not lose out on money they pay for the free shipping that rouges get. I would go to my local Sephora all the time and probably buy more if they actually gave out samples. Who do we need to talk to in order to get a change?   Have any of you all had these issues with Sephora stores? Do you prefer buying in store or online and why? Interested to hear everyones experiences!

Is it okay to use two different glamglow masks in a single week?
Let me just start off by saying that I absolutely love all of the Glamglow masks!   However, my two most favourite masks are the Supermud Clearing Treatment and the Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment.   Can anyone let me know if this is a good routine for both masks: I feel it would be very beneficial to have a clearing treatment and a deep cleanse in one regime. I was thinking of using the Supermud every Wednesday and the Powermud every Sunday... is this a good regime or is using both masks once a week too much for the skin? Let me know! All input is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!   Ps, my skin type is combination oily, acne prone, and dehydrated.

I think that sounds like it would be a reasonable solution.  I think the only thing you would have be be careful of is not over drying if your skin is also dehydrated.  ... see post
L'Oreal
So maybe I have been living under a rock for my entire life, but does everyone know all of the brands that L'Oreal owns?? SOME include: Lancome, Armani, YSL, Biotherm, Kiehls, Ralph Lauren, Shu Uemura, Clarisonic, Victor & Rolf, and Urban Decay. I always knew that L'Oreal was a French company and was highly regarded and thought of to have good quality products because of that... however I did not know that they own so many of the brands that I use everyday! It makes me sort of feel ripped off... like should I just buy L'Oreal from the drugstore? On L'Oreal's websites the above brands are called L'Oreal Luxe, so I assume they have better quality ingredients...but I just don't know what to think... Thoughts??
