So let me start off by saying I never posted here before but after yesterdays horrible experience I didn't know anywhere else to go. So yesterday I went to sephora on 34th st herald square. This store is known for its bad customer service and rude employees, its like that every time I go. No one can ever help you because the employees are always talking to each other and if you dare ask for help they always have an attitude as if you're bothering them. I went to the store to buy a tria laser which Ive been wanting to buy for a while. As Im browsing for 30 minutes looking for it (no one has offered help nor can I even find someone to help me) I eventually make my way upstairs and finally I find it. As soon as I get near the tria laser I get this nasty look from an employee with glasses ( too bad I didn't get her name). So Im looking at the tester model and grab a box and she tells me with a nasty tone "you can't open that". I choose to ignore her since I wasn't opening the box and she knows that and nor were those my intentions. As Im holding the box and looking at the information on the box she rudely tells me in a horrible tone "its the same as the model except white" and then she rudely yells at me with a condescending tone "don't open that" once again, at this point I'm shocked at the way she's speaking to me that all I can say is "I know that". I was with mother and she too was shocked at how we were treated and spoken too. The entire time she was staring us down as if we were gonna steal something or do something illegal. It was unbelievable. She was spying us on. She even followed us to the cash register. Even though at that point I felt like leaving and not buying anything or ever returning back the whole point we even went to sephora was so I could buy the tria laser. I did buy it but I felt really bad afterwards. Even when we were at the register she kept giving us dirty looks. I will say the cashier evangeline was nice to us. Ive had bad experiences before but nothing like this. This tops the cake. Im not even excited to use my tria anymore since I can't help but think of the horrible way we were treated talked down to and looked at. I felt horrible walking out of that store. Im a paying customer so why am I being treated this way. I have been a customer of sephora for years and spent so much money, but never again. It really saddens me to say but I'll just take my business else where, where Im not treated like a criminal just because of the way I look. I really hope sephora fixes this so It doesn't happen to anyone else.
Well, it's that time of the year again - the time when we get to buy special products for ourselves (and others) and possibly feel a little less guilty about spending, knowing that a portion of the money we spend goes to a worthy cause. Breast Cancer is not just something for women to worry about, it is a disease that men can be diagnosed with too. * I was hoping we could all post products that we find that support legitimate charities to raise money, Please feel free to post whatever you find.* If you search "Beauty That Gives Back" here at Sephora you'll find a few cute items, I"m hoping there are more to come. I Just bought a pink Tweezerman tweezer - looks like it may need a BCA mate. Clinique and Sephora both offer "BCA Pink With a Purpose" Lipstick in a cute little case. A Huge fave of mine is by Bobbi Brown - it's "Pretty Pink Ribbon Lip Gloss Collection" It's 4 glosses and they're gorgeous! (I'm hoping they're minty flavored - sometimes they do offer mint gloss - waiting on that info.) This one is really screaming my name! Estee Lauder usually does something as does Ford (they usually have special T-shirts.) So many decisions to make, but it's so worth it. For a pinkaholic like me, this is a dream & a nightmare! But hopefully our purchases will help make other peoples true nightmares - past, present and future - turn into a dream come true. So please feel free to add any other offers you may find. Oh, just one other thing, please feel free to leave one of everything pink for me! btw - As usual, sorry so long. I also hope the wording of this was okay, didn't want to use certain words that might upset someone or make light of this situation at all - I hope that came through.
Guys, you know the saying.. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I went to Sephora on two separate occasions. First, I went to make an exchange from the DUO Mat powder to a Stila eyeliner. Meaning from $34 to $20. So I should be getting $14+tax back on a store credit card. Cashier scans the eyeliner first then the Duo Mat, then the eyeliner. Bro tells me that I owed $7.XX for 1 eyeliner that cost less than my Duo Mat. I don't think that is how math works, I am not an accountant, but I can do basic math. This dude obviously can't. He swiped the store credit card twice, meaning he puts my amount of $14.+tax on the card and then takes it back out and tells me to pay more. Uh no. Fast forward to the afternoon of the same day, I called to check my balance. NADA. There is nothing on it, that was 9/8/2014. I called numerous times to have this solved and nothing. FINE. I will pretend that I got burglarized and lost about $16. Fast forward some more, to 10/1/2014. I went to the same Sephora to pick up some makeup removing wipes. $12 for Josie Maran and $8 for Ole Harry. $20 total. I have some gift cards to use. One had about $2.XX and the other had about $35. I gave the dude the first one, then the second one. He then tells me that the second one was just enough to cover the charge and then threw away my gift card. I asked for the cards back and he gave me the receipts. I am now home and was looking through my receipts. Well, guess what?! Bro threw away $14.13 into the thrash, if I had not ask for my cards back. AND IF I HAVE YET TO MAKE IT CLEAR, IT WAS THE SAME SA THAT CHECKED ME OUT. So here is my wonderful Sephora service story. Even if they are as nice as angels, I cannot tolerate the SA's being so incompetent. I almost lost $30 just from this one guy. Bottom line, lesson learned. If possible avoid Stonestown Galleria Sephora.
With my last few shipments I noticed that Sephora started using OnTrac for rouge free three day shipping. I don't like the OnTrac online tracking system because it doesn't list an estimated delivery date. So how am I supposed to know if my package is.... on track? If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, I would love to hear it.
Yeah I bough a brush totaling $35 and it ended up being awful it sheds like crazy and is no where near as nice as my Real Techniques brushes. I will NOT settle for store credit. I'm a kid so this is a LOOOT of money for me, I absolutely need my cash back. I requested an email receipt because that's most convenient for me. I never got one. What do I do?
I wish that there was a way to view your points history online - something that would show points accrued from purchases, points used or subtracted due to returns, bonus points for the specials where double points can be earned. I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm a little OCD when it comes to things like tracking my points and I have to know that my balance is accurate
Hi everyone. I did a bit of a search and didn't see any recent posts addressing this so I thought I'd check and see if anyone had any new information or solutions. I love the veil mineral primer, but my present 1oz. bottle and several small samples I've used have had an issue of getting watery and separated. When I take the pump off of the 1oz bottle there is thick, almost clumpy, primer that clings to the walls of the glass, and then thin liquid sits in the bottom and gets dispensed when you push the pump. I've tried shaking it (LOTS of shaking) and that hasn't seemed to help. There's a significant difference in the performance of the product when I get use just the liquidy part, vs. if I actually scoop out some of the most solid/thick part from inside the bottle. It's a great product, but it's almost becoming more work that it's worth. Has anyone that's had this issue in the past get any response from Hourglass or find a solution elsewhere? Thanks so much!

Tried to do a search on Sephora but my keywords didn't really turn up many results. I'm looking for a makeup remover that isn't a liquid or oil but instead a cream. I know the Benefit They're Real Remover is a cream, but it's pretty pricey for the amount you get.
I've seen several different video's, here on Sephora and other places and, well, I'm confused! They all seem to be applying face primer differently! Some show it applied allover the face, some just in "trouble" spots....Can anyone help a gal out? Also, I'm new to face primers and just trying them out...I wear Nars sheer glow (?) foundation and really don't know which primer to go with. Any ideas are welcomed! Ideally, I'd like it to even out my skin tone..it's a tad red in areas. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, medium skin tone that is combination, but is prone an occasional break out....I do have to touch up my face with powder as it will become shiny in my t-zone by the end of the day..but I wouldn't call my skin oily. Tx so much!
I went in store to check out glam glow. I am interested in the Super Clearing Mud(white jar) and PowerMud (green jar). My skin is breakout prone (particularly once a month!) and I have been getting more clogged pores with the hot weather, but since fall/winter are around the corner, I want to keep that in mind for my purchase, since it is expensive. In winter my skin becomes very dry and dehydrated. In winter, I use NUDE cellular renewal cream, to give you an idea. I cleanse with Kate Somerville Detox Cleanser (summer) or REN Clear Calm Clay Cleanser (winter) and follow up with FAB Radiance Pads and PTR Camu Camu Serum. I use the clarisonic about every three days, and PTR Peeling Gel or Kate Somerville Clearing Mask in between. For moisturizer, if I am not using NUDE (like right now), I am using Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation or Kate Somerville Goat Milk cream. Which mask would be better for me? What is the difference between the two? My understanding is that they are both deep cleansing. Would appreciate input from those who have used both, and are breakout-prone! Thank you!

What did you think? I was tossing a few samples into my sample stash bag, and realized a) I have a sample hoarding problem and b) I have no clue what I've got in there. So Going along with blackwhiskey's makeup challenge, I'm proposing the September Sample Challenge. For the last 10 days of September, use at least 5 samples from your stash, then give us your mini review. Did you like it? Would you purchase it? Etc. so.....who's up for another challenge?
Hi - don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I have a major problem with fragrance samples - P.U. This part is especially to the mods/whoever else reads all of this - Is there any way you could put perfume samples in a separate baggie? Preferably a sealed one. Do you think this is doable?? ** I just started opening one of many Sephora packages and got to one where I didn't even get the box opened, but could smell the very strongly scented, perfume inside. I had to put it in another room,, in hopes of the smell wearing off. (I've already heard complaints on how it's stinking up that room too **sigh**) I don't know if it leaked or what happened, but it smells so strong and so overpowering and just plain Nasty!! Sometimes I find that if something like a lip product is packed with a smelly something or other, they can take on the scent of whatever the smelly offender might be, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Do you think there's anything that can be done about this? (Other then the obvious, 'don't order perfume samples stupid') I only get perfumes if there are no other samples that work for me. Then I pass them along to my friends, family etc. They're usually thrilled! Any thoughts on what could be done in the future? Hope others agree and that it's not just me. I will admit, I do have very heightened senses, but sometimes you know it's not just you (i.e. all the moaning/groaning I'm hearing about smelling up another whole room) Maybe you can send this to the 'higher ups' too. ***Hope others will mention if they agree with this stinky issue, strength in numbers and all. You don't have to heart this - maybe just put a 'me too' or 'same' - then it would be known it's not just one crazy woman. My eighteenth birthday is coming up and I want to learn more about what make up is right for me and how to apply it in a way that compliments my face the best. I'm not sure whether to get a custom makeover or a personal beauty consultation. I wanna learn all the tips and tricks I can as well as products that'll work best for me, but I also don't wanna break my wallet. I know the minimum amount for the makeover is $50 and the PBC is $125 but will it really only cost that much and how much more? If anyone has any advice or an experience they'd like to share that they think would help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

So I really dig the Algenist line & I got a cpl of point perk sample of the ANTI AGING SERUM-OIL. I didn't think I would get to use anymore since I got a pretty good sized pack of this awhile back... when I fell in LOVE w/ it. - I have been applying w/ the palm of my hands & tried fingertips . I feel like maybe I am wasting it ( even though I apply immediately like a mad woman pressing into my cleansed skin AFTER using the FAB Radiance Pads that were recommended ( btw, thanks SO much, my skin/nose/pores is looking better & better) . SO, Basically do any of you have some awesome advice , tip's, and tricks as to how to apply my dry-oil serums, oils, and serums? - Also, I know they say thinnest to thickest. Is this always the case ( I just don't want to waste any product and get more benefits) ? I also have the CAUDALIE VINASOURCE OVERNIGHT RECOVERY OIL & I have not tried it yet (wanted to use the new FAB pads & the Algenist oil 1st for awhile & see how my skin responded). - The directions say to apply at night AND/ OR mix w/ a tinted moisturizer . I am interested in trying BOTH but wanted your opinion on ^ the above general application questions, how many drop's to use alone & in my tinted moisturizer, and what would be the best way to use it from the vile. Along w/ the CAUDALIE ^ above, I have the POLYPHENOL [C 15] ANTI WRINKLE DEFENSE SERUM -ALL SKIN TYPES. - I have tried it once or twice but then just stopped . It say's to build ur application amount up & BEFORE the FAB PAD'S I used the normal amount w/ no problems irritation wise (so now Idk if the FAB pad's would make me more sensitive to the serum). * (However I had been trying the Josie M. Argon Milk Serum in the a.m., & I think it was causing some clogged pores and/ or under-skin non-painful bumps along my jaw line. But it could have been hormones.... either way while I used the Argon Milk more I stopped both. This has been months back ). - SO, my question(s) w/ this is of course the 1st ^ questions of application in general & should I give I another go (& how much should I apply), when to apply, and what would be best w/ what? After I am satisfied w/ how I am applying my oil's & serums I have some questions I will post about a cpl of Algenist Creams & CAUDALIE Rich that I am confused & torn with (as in when, where, how, or if at all, & how I have 2 day / anytime moisturizers & a NUDE sleeping Mask so how/ or if I should rotate them out). Just Food For Thought as I know I can easily get ahead of myself ! I would just feel better when I get this ironed out, that's all. I've been a VIB for a few years now, and my local Sephora is within walking distance of that "other" brand. I've heard rave reviews about their rewards program, most especially about their generous giving of free product with each new level reached and not samplers. Today, I headed to my Sephora store for the VIB event, got my bag loaded up, and then...went to Ulta. I was actually there to get a tube of NYX lip gloss since I've heard so much about it, but I went through the whole store out of pure curiosity. The verdict? While Ulta does carry drugstore brands and their rewards are pretty lofty in comparison...Sephora has my heart. Ulta felt too "superstore-ish". No offense, but a little...below...the standard and prestige of Sephora. So, Sephora, heed our call! Amp up our VIB rewards. Tidy up the shelves and demos in your stores (our store is a tad lacking in that dept.). And, keep up the great work! = )
I want to purchase glam glow mask, but i'm confused which one to buy? I have Dry-combination skin, with very dry cheeks, my concern is hydration in dry parts, but not making oily my t-zone, and i have some acne marks on face. So please suggest me which glam glow mask i should buy?
