points incorrect

Hi i returned some items in store today and they asked for my beauty insider card and i handed it without thinking. When i got home later i noticed they deducted points for my return but i did not use my card for points when i purchased the items to begin with! What is this?! Why would they deduct points i never even earned? that's just crazy please help!
