I was in Sephora today and my cashier let me know that they will be updating their return policy. I don't know whether this is Canada-only and when it will take effect. Whenever the new policy takes effect, when you return items without a receipt you will have to do it as an exchange only. No more store credit. I asked her what happens if the sum of the items you are exchanging for does not match the original price of the item you are exchanging, and she said that it pretty much has to be a perfect straight exchange, otherwise its going to be our loss. So, either exchange for the same sum, or for something more expensive. I really don't understand Sephora's beef with their own gift cards (/store credit). If I'm getting store credit, of course I'm going to be spending that money on Sephora, whether it's going to be at that same moment, or in a week or two.
I did all my Christmas shopping for my friends and family during the 4x the points event. I was also on a low buy for the last two months ( 6 orders only in 2 months!) so needless to say I ended up wanting more and more things as the week long Surge promotion was on. And I kept seeing more things I could buy my friends and family as gifts. Needless to say I went from about 5400 points to 11398. Psince I am from Canada, the points were not updated correctly to reflect the difference in US and CAN prices.so I had made a spreadsheet that I tracked all my purchases to know what I was buying for whom so I could just gift wrap the box it's shipped in and to keep track of the points that would need to be added to my account. So I sent in emails with the spreadsheet on 3 days to show the missing points for purchases made Augb4,5,6. It took a long time to get a response back and when I finally got a response back about purchases made on Aug 4, they did not multiply by 4 since I was Rouge. This was quickly rectified when I called the Rouge line. Then I still had not received a response about my email about purchases made on aug 5. I did get an email about purchases made on Aug 6 but it was again wrong. When I called the Rouge line again, she wasn't as helpful and questioned why I had made soo many orders. I told her they were mostly Christmas gifts and she asked if they were going to different addresses. I said no, I'm going to mail them myself..it's August, I'm NOT going to be sending out Christmas gifts right now. also, the whole point of customer appreciation week or month and the 4x the points promotion was to encourage spending! On top of all of the things that went in and out of the sale section that made us have to stalk the sale page. Anyways, I told her I had all the order numbers and the price difference and would gladly walk through each one with her but she said she would look it up herself and email me back no later than last night. Well, that call was made at noonish yesterday and by noon today I still did not get a reply back. In total, I needed 591 points updated for purchases made Aug 4,5,6,7,10. When I called the Rouge line today, the representative told me he'd be happy to apply my points but when he went to apply them he said he couldn't because I had too many points. He said I would need to spend points before he would add the 591 points. I said that I was saving for a high point perk for next year and he just kept telling me to use 500 pts on the Hourglass point perk even though I said the only Hourglass product I use was the powders and the blush. So he said he would make a note that once I spend points, then the missing points would be added. Ii have never heard of there being a limit as to how many points we can have in our account... And it seems counter intuitive since sephora encourages us to save points for the 10k and 5 k perks. My daughter was disappointed that we missed out on the 5 k rewards this time since we didn't get an email until 11:55 am and all the good rewards were already gone. We're hoping to be luckier next year and get a trip or one of the other high point rewards. So, can a mod or someone please let me know if there is a limit. I don't like how Canadians are always having one problem after another with sephora. I took my time to email and call multiple times and get no response or the weirdest response ever. Thank you
I received an email for the Argon illuminator saying that my recent purchase was added to "My Beauty Bag" and asking if I wanted to review it. I went to review it right away and my review showed up however the illuminator isn't in recent purchases nor are the points for it showing up. Is there an amount of time we have to wait?
Don't want to post third-party links, but the Globe and Mail reports that Muji will be launching in Canada mid-December with a standalone store somewhere in the vicinity of the Eaton Centre. As someone who lives in a tiny-ish condo, I am so excited to finally be able to pick up nifty storage for all my pretties without having to rely on ebay. (The article also reports we're getting a Uniqlo soon. Which I'm just as excited about!)
Throughout my teenage years i had horrible pimples and acne, now that i am finally over that stage i am stuck with the annoying acne/dark spots on my face. Does anyone know a product at Sephora or somewhere else in Canada that i can use to help get rid of them? I want something that actually works not just a waste of money.
Have you seen this box on the Weekly Specials page of the website? I just noticed that it says Online AND In Stores for the 3 samples. I can't even remember the last time I got 3 foil packet samples after making a purchase in a store. Let alone getting to pick them like we can online. http://www.sephora.com/contentStore/mediaContentTe mplate.jsp?mediaId=11000020&icid2=HomePage_QuickLi ...
I don't know if anyone is as happy as me that Sephora is FINALLY opening a store at Short Pump, but I was wondering if there is any interest in meeting as a group for some coffee and then hitting the grand opening together and sharing our hauls. I'm not sure what the exact opening date is, but it has to be soon, right?!?!?!?
I have returned 3 items in the past 3 months without receipt. The amount totaled to 45 (at regular sephora) and 30 (at JCP sephora) so $75 total Do you guys know what the dollar limit on returns is? Does a return at JCP Sephora count towards returns in a regular Sephora? I just need to return two more items for which i do not have the receipt. Both were purchased before I got my BI account so there is no way for them to look it up.

I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.

I know Sephora runs different promos throughout the year for bonus points. The only 2 I'm remembering are for skincare and fragrance but I don't remember the timing. Any insights into what we MIGHT be able to look forward to based on the past? Thanks!
Just thought I would share and hopefully save you all some money. I purchased a generic konjac sponge a few months ago for 1$ off eBay after seeing reviews of an EcoTools one. I absolutely loved it - I went back and ordered 10 more because they do need to be disposed of after a while. Now I see that Sephora is now selling Boscia Konjac Sponges for 15$ and that is outrageous. I recently went in to the store and looked at it, felt it, and even asked a BA to get it wet for me. It was the EXACT same as my 1$ sponge. I attempted to post this in a review but as we all know, Sephora LOVES to remove reviews when people point out that they are being ripped off. Bosica honestly probably purchases the same sponges I did, but they put they put it in a box with there name on it and charge 15X as much. I did a little research, turns out these sponges all around cost pennies for them to make, so there is NO reason they should be charging 15$ for them. I will happily pay 100$ for a face cream that research has been put into, but I will never pay that much of a mark up for something so simple and that has been around for a while.
Please share if you got the Bite perk, the Caudalie perk, the Bumble and Bumble perk, the trip, any of the other awesome perks...or (I die now) the absolutely incredible I am so jealous Chloe perk! Excited for some good stories of amazing perks!
I redeemed a 100 point reward during a purchase, but I was disappointed with the color and decided to return it along with another item. I hadn't opened it or used it at all. My question is, will I get the reward points back? Or am I going to be gypped out of the $100 I spent to get the reward? Mind you, this is the first time in the 6 years I've been shopping with Sephora that I have had to return a reward, so I wasn't sure what the policy was on this. Thank you!
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I just found out so I thought I would share with fellow Canadians who frequently purchase from Sephora online. When you make a purchase online, even though you are paying the Canadian price (which is generally a big difference), only the USD amount will be counted towards your spend total. Which means to maintain your status, for instance VIB rouge, you are spending way more than the $1000 CAD required to become a VIB rouge. Am I the only one who thinks this is unfair? I make purchases both in store and online, but I frequently place orders online due to the free shipping perk for rouge members, so to find this out sucks. I contacted Sephora's support team and they told me "Unfortunately our system does not have a way to override the spend total for our Canadian clients, as our point system is based on the USD price" so I guess we are out of luck. Sucks to be us Canadians I love sephora, but I guess I will have to stick to purchases in store from now on (which means I have to cancel the one I am currently placing lol), if I want to ensure that I qualify for Rouge again next year.
I thought I could see EVERY purchase ever made at Sephora in my purchases list, however only some are showing. I've only ever had one BI card and online I get signed in automatically to my account....is there a limit to the number of purchases that are shown?
