For the love of all things Guerlain

There is a line that has buried itself in my heart (and my pocketbook), and it is Guerlain.  I know Im not the only one out there.  I thought I would start this thread for the discussion of all things Guerlain, skin care, makeup, perfume, places to get good gwp or good samples.  Experiences people have had, looks people have created with the products.

For me it all started with a makeover by Guerlain's own Marie Line at my local Neiman Marcus.  She spent an hour with me and I left feeling calm and happy.

As a mother of 4 year old twins and as a doctor I spend my live rushing through the day, often without enough sleep, more often without enough water, taking care of everyone else.  It shows on my face, in the fatigue in my eyes, in the puffiness and dark circles under them.  While I have been blessed with good skin it can be confused, aging (I bought my guerlain the day prior to my 40th birthday), but still with an oily t zone, and with patchy dry spots on my cheeks likely from the dry air in my medical work environment.  One of the things she said to me was- make it about a ritual for you, and dont leave it until your going to fall asleep.  I walked out with the orchidee imperiele gel cream, eye and lip cream and white/brightenining serum.  It was a birthday gift to myself.  And now every night I sit down for 15 minutes and wash my face and slowly carry through the ritual.  a ritual of energy expended and renewed.  Breathing in the soft smell of the orchids.  Im still using a cleanser and exfoliator from another line given how much I spent, but I have seen substantial change in my face in the 3 weeks since.

so thats my story, and I would love to share a discussion with other lovers of Guerlain, especially as we eagerly anticipate the 2015 holiday collection.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Would someone please swatch the LE Rouge G against 62 Georgia?  I've been reading too many mixed messages.

Thanks.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Georgia is the one close to my bracelets.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

thanks!!

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Well, since I don't have Georgia yet, I can totally get this! 😉

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Not that having Georgia stopped me. LOL

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Thanks so much for that color comparison.  They're pretty much the same color, awesome!  I love Georgia.

The pictures made the lipstick seem really pink.  Salmon pink is loads better than carnation.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

If anything the LE is a hair deeper in tone in certain light than Georgia but that's about it.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Very interesting and helpful Sprytely! Thank you 🙂

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

The blushes look very lovely on your skin tone. Seems liked the whole collection suits you very well. 🙂 Thx for the swatches.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Did anyone else find the holiday meteorites to be sparkly? These are my first meteorites and I was expecting it to be subtle very slightly shimmery powder - and used it all over my face today. It seems to have a significant amount of gold sparkles - needless to say I look all holiday like and glittery in October.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

The summer ones were sparkly too however if you want a glow I would try the regular =D

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

I think the holiday version usually has more sparkle than the other yearly releases.

I found last year's etoile ones had a lot of fine gold to them.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Yea, it is pretty, but I am shining in a very real and visible way.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Oh no...i guess ill hav to use it as a highlighter then when i get it. Coz im still getting it when it launches for us (canada)

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

It looks like a dream in the pot, so I will not take it back, but instead add it to my huge pile of highlighters. I found that Chanel's Infiniment (sp?) Powder is glowy without any shimmer - it also seems to blur out and add a soft focus effect when used as an all over finishing powder.

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

LOVE the Chanel powder. Today I used it and then put my regular Meteorites on top, and my skin looked gorgeous!

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Ooh sounds great ill check the chanel out thanks for the tip Pav! This will be my first guerlain purchase so im nervous that it doesnt turn me off from the brand but i guess mocha is right that holiday stuff is generally sparkly..

Re: For the love of all things Guerlain

Don't write off the whole brand if you don't like *these* Meteorites! 🙂

There are some really great products, if you don't like the shimmer in your meteorites. I highly recommend checking out the lipsticks, foundations, and fragrances!

I find that yes, there is some shimmer to the Meteorites. But it never looks like chunks of glitter on me. If I peer in super close to the mirror - I can see the shimmer. But in general, it's more like an overall luminous glow on me.

If you really dislike shimmer, I find the Meteorites compact to be less shimmery than the perles. And even less so - the Les Voilettes powder.
