Empties

I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.

Re: Empties

Re: Empties

What's the Marvis toothpaste like? What do you like about it? c:

Re: Empties

@KaitTheKatfish I like mint taste - it is not too strong, but still fresh and not very chemical? like in some drugstore pastes. And the other thing (most important) I am a very big fan of black tea, and tea stains my teeth. Marvis doesn`t whitens my teeth, but it really keeps stains away.

Re: Empties

Awesome, thanks!

nice month of masking!  @MoniDJ

Re: Empties

I was inspired by some of the Instagram mask challenges to make a dent in my stash. I think I'm gonna keep it up for October as well.

RE: Empties

September empties - if you have any specific questions, please let me know.

10/10s

Spoiler
May Lindstrom Problem Solver - this has been repurchased many times. I don't need to use it as often as I used to, but I always like to have it around.

Odacite CaR -
a good booster serum for adding a little extra oomph to the skin.

The Ordinary BHA 2% -
this was a repurchase but I knocked it over into the sink and lost about half of it, so it was finished sooner than anticipated. It's one I will repurchase again.

Clarisonic Pedi Buffing Disc -
I go through 3-4 of these a year and find them integral in keeping my feet in good shape.

Omorovicza Copper Peel -
one of my favourite copper peels, I love how soft it makes my skin feel, while still feeling extremely gentle.

Stellar Haze Powder -
my new favourite setting powder, it softly blurs and keeps my oily t zone in check.

Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate -
a solid hydrating serum at an affordable price, I will definitely be repurchasing it. It's my only standout product from the JSS line, but I am looking forward to trying the new After Show balm cleanser.

DeMamiel samples -
I don't recall which these were, but I know I enjoyed them.

50-50s

Spoiler
Yuli Cocoon Elixir - this was an effective toning mist, but Yuli loses me with the scent of their products. All of the elixirs I've tried have been unpleasant and lingered and I think there are just too many other options out there to settle for a bad smell.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair -
this worked well but I don't think there was enough product to know how well I would like it long term.

DDG Extra Strength Peel Pads -
I've discussed these before; nice, but not my go to exfoliant.

Malin Goetz Peppermint Shampoo -
felt minty on the skin but didn't smell minty at all, rather it smelled more like bark.

Mun Aknari Serum -
Mun is another brand I've tried several products from that were all ok but nothing that blew me away. As with their other products, I wouldn't repurchase this.

Farmacy Sleep Tight balm -
I had some minis from Farmacy kits and while I don't like this for my face (too Vaseline-y) I find it nice for slathering on my heels at night.

Odacite Spring in Tokyo -
I'm a big Odacite fan but this was another thing I found meh - due to the INCI list I had to reserve my usage to when other members of my household were out of town, but I didn't feel like this made any substantial difference in my skin during any of the 3 seasons I used it during.

Mahalo Heart of Summer -
I was really excited by this based on the INCI list but kind of let down by it in practice. It smelled like wet grass clippings and I didn't find it made any noticeable improvements in my skin.

Lancome Monsieur Big - this one surprised me. It gave me lovely, fluttery lashes. I may pick up a FS tube at some point.

Too Faced BTS Waterproof - I really liked how well it held a curl but I disliked how difficult it was to remove.

Big Fat 0s

Spoiler
The Ordinary Rosehip oil - was too thick and heavy for me and smelled terrible.

MUFE HD Powder -
another pore clogger, it also gave me a terrible white cast.

Odacite Po+R -
too rich for my skin type.

Odacite Ro+Y -
too rich for my skin type.

what an awesome idea. doing this for October!!!

Re: Empties

Slightly off from the point of this board but I wanted to throw this out there: sometimes when I do several orders at once, especially around the holidays, I end up racking up a bunch of samples of a product I'm not interested in, or that I try and don't like and then I have a bunch of extras. You can donate those, especially the unused ones! Places like women's shelters usually need makeup and hygiene products, and it can be a great place to unload all those extra perfume samples.

It's fun looking through everyone's thoughts on everything they tried! Just wanted to share because for me I find I that I get overwhelmed with products sometimes and it's a good way to pair it down to things I'm actually interested in 😧

Great idea @KaitTheKatfish! I hadn't thought about this b...

Loves

Spoiler
Algenist Overnight Restorative Cream
Fresh Black Tea Eye Concentrate
Hourglass Mineral Primer
Philosophy Purity Made Simple
Korres Greek Yoghurt Cleanser
I've gone through multiples of all these over the years. I always repurchase all of them and all I can say is my dry skin loves all these products.

Likes

Spoiler
Lush D'Fluff- When I use this after a Scrubee my legs are so soft
Too Cool For School- The only reason I won't call this a love is I want to use it a few more times. I had a breakout on the lower part of one of my cheeks that just wouldn't heal for more than a week and after using this I finally saw progress. When I woke up the next day my skin was glowing.
Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish- I use this for volume at my roots and it works, I'm still looking for a favorite though.

Nopes

Spoiler
Shea Moisture Kukui Nut & Grapeseed Mask- This didn't do anything for my fine hair and I honestly didn't like the smell, too floral to me.
Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Shampoo- This wasn't bad, it was just meh. My hair has been more frizzy lately and I thought a heavier shampoo would help, but no. Overtime it made my hair gummy.
Cinema Secrets Break it Down Waterproof Makeup Remover- I couldn't wait to finish this. It just moved my mascara from my eyelashes to the skin underneath. Then it was a chore to remove it from my skin. I don't understand how this had so many great reviews. It took to much to get the job done and I always lost more eyelashes than normal.

Re: Empties

Those pumpkin masks are on my favorites list because of how plump and healthy they make my skin look!  The only downer is that they're actually too saturated in serum and sometimes drip into my eyes.  I stock up on them every time I go to Korea or Japan cause they're cheaper there. @suzyo

Re: Empties

@heartsmyface The only issue I have with them is the size of the eye hole, they're too small and cover my brows and everything! I have a habit of squeezing all sheet masks while taking them out of the package because I hate how drippy they all are. Then I use the leftover serum on as much of my body as I can cover. I typically can cover my whole body though.

Re: Empties

@suzyo This is exactly why I'm not using sheet masks - I hate the wet, dripping feeling on my face. It never occurred to me to squeeze them out🤦🏼‍♀️I have to try it to see if I like it better that way! #mindblown 😂😂

I had a pretty good month getting through partially used products.

Re: Empties

I found that philosophy French vanilla bean starts to smell like plastic after a while.  Their other scents seem to be better.  I especially love how much they foam up in a bath!  @MachynesSister

Re: Empties

It definitely smelled "off" to me @heartsmyface. It was actually hard for me to use it all, and I normally love Philosophy products! But you're right, they do make for a nice bubble bath.
