I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.
These are the cutest face drawings for empties I have seen @sonnydee . I love the sad one, it says it all for your high hopes then disappointment.❤️
Did I completely miss your coffee hydrogel review @sonnydee? Did it have a coffee scent or was it soapy?
It was faint coffee smell, if I remember right.@eshoe I think this is the one that gave me the idea to just cut my more ill fitting masks in half. This one was a good one.
March was a good month in my quest to use up a lot of samples/foils in addition to some full size that have been hanging around for too long. Because I spent a week in a hotel room, I have a pair of photos for each group--I wasn't going to cart home my trash. It was bad enough that the hotel housekeeper must have thought I was loony with the bag of empties with a note not to throw out.
Loved and will buy again:
<br
Things I like but probably won't buy:
Whish is from a FFF box. It's more like a drugstore brand. It's OK, but there are better out there.
Ahava is also from FFF, and I LOVE the smell, but there are hand creams that are more moisturizing.
Who doesn't love Molton Brown? This was from a Nieman Marcus GWP--Loved it, but too pricey for my wallet.
I'm not sure Lancome even makes Magie Noir any longer. I found this bottle and it was near the end of it's life, so I used it for a month to finish it. I no longer really care for the scent, my husband said it reminded him of when we were first dating.
The Crabtree & Evelyn soap smells nice, I always bring a bar home to use as hand soap when I stay at a Doubletree.
CAUDALIE - Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
I've been using this as a night cream and it does work nicely as a night time moisturizer. It's not my unicorn though.
OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum®
More of the same serum reviewed earlier, it's not as good as Drunk Elephant.
amika The Kure Repair Shampoo for Damaged Hair 8 oz/ 236 mL
amika The Kure Repair Conditioner for Damaged Hair 8.45 oz/ 250 mL
They left my hair shiny but there are products I prefer.
Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Shampoo 8.5 oz/ 250 mL
Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner 6.7 oz/ 200 mL
I loved the way they left my hair feeling silky, BUT once I added styling products my hair felt pretty gross by the end of the day.
Things I didn't like:
My laptop is being a jerk trying to post this all, so just suffice to say I didn't like these things. If you have questions about a specific product, I'll answer. Thanks for playing!
@flamingolegs Thanks for sharing your empties! I'm seeing lots of products I love in your stash. I love the SC Makeup Cleansing Wipes and the Laneige Lip Mask. Those are essentials for me. <33
@PenelopeBT do you know if they've disco'ed the SC brush wipes, or if they are simply out of stock. I've only recenly discovered them and they are great for travel when you don't have time to dry your brushes before packing them up.
I love your comment about squinting and smiling, made me smile @flamingolegs 😊
I used to use that Kiehl’s, it’s a nice gentle toner.
I love the Tatcha Deep Cleanse but not the $38 price tag for a full size. I wish I could find a good dupe for it.
I've been holding onto this batch longer than usual lately, so I don't remember details on everything, but I think I got 'em sorted at least pretty close to right. Maybe. 😋
Notes in the spoilers 😁
@RGbrown HATE PANNING omg that is the most perfect term and may or may not describe half the things in my 2019 panning project .... looks like you did great with these empties!! I appreciate all the detail in your reviews ☺️
Ironically I was considering purchasing the PC Azelaic Acid, @RGbrown so can I ask--what were you specifically using it for? I'm dealing with some mild acne scarring/residual redness and I'm trying to come up with some options; the PC was one of the products that I came across that was recommended for helping to remedy that particular issue. Do you feel like you've seen any noticeable results from using it? H
I use for two reasons: it can help unclog pores (I am *extremely* congestion-prone) and also to help with red marks/scars (I am so so bad about picking when I know I shouldn't). It has definitely been helpful...when I inevitably go too far picking at something, the mark disappears much faster, and I don't seem to get quite as congested as I used to. My congestion could still be better, and I'm vaguely curious to check out a prescription version one day, wondering if 20% might be even better for me, but I'm pretty content to work with an OTC version for now.
I do like that the PC version includes a little bit of BHA as well (0.5%), whereas The Ordinary version doesn't, but I use a separate BHA anyways (also PC), so I don't think I'm missing too much there by swapping brands.
@RGbrown how much of the CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover 3.8 oz/ 125 mL do you use? I have a small maybe deluxe size from a holiday kit that I will start using and don't want to waste it if a little goes a long way. Thanks!
