Application technique

I recently purchased the Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15. I used the Sephora Pro Foundation brush #47 - recommended by the esthetician who assisted me. However, when applying with a light hand it leaves streak marks. Any suggestions?

Re: Application technique

That foundation applies really well with just fingers since it has that silicone-type of feel. I would recommend blending and swiping motions for an all-over coverage and then using patting motions with two fingers (forefinger and middle) for any added coverage.

I love using my beauty blender for foundation application

I just use my fingers. It seems a little thick to use a brush. I love the foundation and noticed they have a better selection of shades now.

A much cheaper option is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

I tend to stay away from flat foundation brushes because of the streak problem. I use Urban Decay's Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush to apply this foundation and it works great... Brushes like this really buff the foundation into your skin which I find is necessary for a thick foundation like this one.

I was thinking about trying this foundation. Is it good?

I'm not the OP, but I love it! It really does last all day.

I've never used that particular foundation (or the #47 brush), but I'd just like to throw out a recommendation to try it using the BeautyBlender or a Flat Top Kabuki brush (Sigma makes one, and I believe MAC made one, not sure if it was LE or not), and see if it works better for you.

I have found that either of those make my foundation apply flawlessly.
