I got a card via regular (snail) mail and not the card itself, but the paper attached to it clearly states that you had to be VIB by October 1st to qualify for the discount (which I was). I qualified for Rouge in November but for $5, it wasn't something I was or am going to worry about. Happy shopping to me and all of you!
You take your logic and facts and your "reading" and get out of here! There's no place for that kind of nonsense here!
It's a curse! I have to read all of the fine print!
OMG I got a .gif!!!! Yay!!!!
All day, friend!
Love me some Hillary but a cute wink is much better - thanks!
where is the pin # on the $15 card?
I just received my code and it was only for $20, even though I did qualify for Rouge in early November. Having read about other's experience with multiple phone calls and long wait times or being disconnected from their call, I am contemplating if it is worth my time to pursue or take the majority of my business elsewhere 😞
I think you had to qualify for each tier by October 1 to get the amount for the status you are now. Being that you were a VIB on October 1, the discount would be $20. This is just my understanding of it though.
I agree. The way I understand what it says in the FAQ is that they will check when your status (ie, when you qualified), and offer the difference if it was an error, not that they would give people the difference based on their status today. It would be better if it was stated more clearly though to avoid any confusion.
Hi ivy17, if you're planning on shopping online, please PM me and I can help you!
Just wanted to make note that I was a little frustrated with Sephora CS before today, but I feel a lot better about it now. I called to place my order since I had physical gift cards as well. I only had to wait on the line for about a minute. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and my order was placed with no problems. I already got my order confirmation number and everything is correct. I know tensions are high right now, but thank you for your help, CS!
In several threads, it was clarified that the cut off date was October 1 to qualify for each level. You received whatever amount corresponds to the status you were on October 1.
please link said threads for reference? (sorry, new to the board)
The one I'm thinking of appears to have been deleted. My posts from it are gone as well.
Scrolling through this thread, there seems to be a lot of inconsistencies and thus the resulting frustrations. But the cut off date is completely logical. As I stated in the deleted thread, they need time to process and be able to prepare promotions based on a certain list of BI levels.
I'm guessing Sephora isn't looking to create enemies over something like this, but for $5... If it's really that worth it to put up a stink, more power to you. But I'm not about to qualify myself for Rouge today then complain that I'm owed another $5.
But the fact that Sephora opts to leave things vague, giving themselves wiggle room undoubtedly only creates more drama and chaos than laying down an arbitrary date. For all I know, Sephora's lawyers might tell them they can't overtly advertise a cut off date, or put one in writing, but verbally implement one.
If you turned Rouge after October and got the $20 card, call the Rouge line (1.855.ROUGEVIB) and be firm. I told the representative about the stated policy above saying that new Rouges can get the higher amount. I had to hold for about five minutes, and then the rep told me that I could have a $5 credit to my online account.
It's not perfect, but I'll take it. I imagine that it would be a problem for them to issue new cards to new Rouges, because what would stop us from using both rewards? Now that they know they really need to find a solution to this issue for next year, but this year they are in a tough spot.
they should likely make the October cut off date more known
I'm sure this advice goes for new VIBs as well. Call customer service, be firm, and reference the above stated policy.
