Ahhhhhh! I have just been going nuts with the makeup purchases since January! I have literally been buying up stuff as I see and want it! I read a suggest that to cut back a bit I should go through a No-buy period unless it's a necessity. How long should a no-buy be? I was thinking a month but am scared a palette will come out I really want, lol. I'm a bit weak. i think I need a little support with this one! This isn't going to include the palettes I have coming in the mail. I just am not allowed to make anymore purchases starting today for ??????.
Does anybody else look at makeup not only as a hobby, but as a distraction? I find it as an escape sometimes. I'm in a long distance relationship, go to school, and work full time. Makeup is a way for me to numb and distract myself. Anyone else feel this way about makeup?
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Today I managed to drop my brannnd spankin new MUFE Flash palette Help me feel better by telling me I'm not alone - what have you accidentally dropped/messed up lately? *tries not to get tears on the newly cracked case* And to make matters worse, Hourglass cancelled my order for ONE ambient lighting palette because they thought I was a third party seller??! Today is just not my makeup day.
Horray for calamityjane85!!!!!!!! Not only is she an awesome person, but she applies eyeshadow way better than me! Congrats to her and for setting up the rouge system too! Heres to many more hearts calamity!
Have you been buying way too many beauty products lately? Is your vanity overflowing with way too much clutter? If you haven't heard of the Project 10 Pan (which I believe started on Youtube, that's where I heard about it!), let me briefly describe what it is. You select 10 (or however many you'd like) products, whether it's makeup, skincare, hair products or all. You must finish these 10 products in its entirely (or "hit pan", where you have used so much of the product that you see the bottom of the "pan") before you are allowed to buy new makeup products. This really helps with appreciating what you have rather than buying more and more things, leaving older products you have to sit in the dust! *There are also exceptions, for example, if you run out of concealer... you can allow yourself to purchase another concealer even if you haven't completed the Project 10 Pan. Is anyone else doing a Project 10 Pan?! I definitely needed to control myself after IMATS LA and tons of Sephora gift cards for my birthday and the recent UD sale! So, I started up my Project 10 Pan again two weeks ago! I'm determined not to be good and stick with it! Here are my items that I've chosen for my Project 10 Pan: 1. Sephora Mineral Foundation Powder in Medium 25 - I've had this since March and I'm barely half way!! I use this daily. 2. Sephora Lip Gloss in Pink Ballerina - about half way through. 3. Clinique Lip Gloss in Bamboo Pink - about half way through. 4. NYX Lip Gloss in Beige - still have more than 3/4 of the product left! 5. Stila Liquid Eye Liner in Black - I'll finish this in about a month or so. 6. BADgal Lash - I have about half a month left til I need to throw it out. 7. L'oreal Voluminous Mascara - still have about 2 months til I need to throw it out. 8. Maybelline One by One Mascara - will be throwing this out in a couple weeks. 9. UD Primer Potion - I have two small samples, but I really don't know how long they will last! 10. ELF Blush in Tickled Pink - I haven't even hit pan with this! and any of my UD eye shadows in my Naked palette, which I haven't even hit pan with! This will definitely take a long time to complete, but I'm okay with that because I really need to save my money and just enjoy what I have! Let me know what your list looks like!
I want to give a big shout out to my friend Lylysa for her 9400+ hearts! She writes the most amazing posts that are always chock full of information that is so relevant and helpful. Always kind and a fabulous friend to all us here on BT! Hugs!
What product do you feel like you will you never in a million years be able to use up? For me it's the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. The bottle is huge for something I use a tiny drop of a few times a week. Anyone else wish everything came in travel sizes so you could change products every two weeks without feeling guilty about things going bad or going to waste?
Exactly what the title says I know we've chatted about this before, but I thought I'd revive the topic with a new thread. With Chic Week coming up and new collections/products/lines dropping what feels like every day, what brands (collections, too, since Sephora's offering can be limited at the brand's discretion) do you wish you saw on shelves? For me, it would be Chanel, Tom Ford, and YSL's Spring collection. Chanel's Illusion d'Ombres (cream shadows) and Glossimers (lip glosses) are calling to me with their siren song, as are Tom Ford's lippies, quads and contour palettes (however exorbitantly priced!!!). I love YSL lippies, so I wish the new colors got some love here at Sephora. Oh, and while we're on the subject, ByTerry and Chantecaille wouldn't hurt, either! I adore both, and don't own nearly enough of either!

I know some ladies bought all their heart desired but what didn't you buy during the sale. Feel free to state why you passed on things on your list. I didn't get Marc Jacobs Gel foundation: sold out Versace Bright Crystal Absolu id want to purchase the larger size Bite Beauty Lip Gloss/Lipstick: I have ton of lippies that need love Anastasia Brow Gel: sold out MUFE Mat Velvet foundation:sold out Sephora brushes:wasn't sure even with the discount they were a good deal Hourglass Lip Gloss:see about about lippies LOL NARS tinted moisturizer: Trying 3 new foundation right now...this will have to wait.
This is going to sound funny, but I finally broke down and bought a beautyblender sponge after reading reviews and hearing raves from a lot of others on here. Now the question is...how do I use it? I'm used to just using my fingers with my tinted moisturizers or my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.
How much did you spend during the sale? I got a lot of things since it started (stocking up on favorites and trying new things) and spent just a tad over a grand. But, I'm happy with what I have! I feel like I should look like this, haha!
My man and I were shopping at Costco today and while flipping through the flyer I saw that they had Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules (my favourite skincare product) on sale for $30 for 120 capsules. They regularly sell for $160 for 180 capsules!! I ran over to look and I saw quite a lot of cosmetics and skincare products including Elizabeth Arden, EOS and Clinique! I was shocked! I've never thought to look at Costco before!! So tell me, have I been living under a rock this whole time? Have you found any sweet deals at Costco before?
So, I think most people who buy makeup like we do have some sort of very specific product that they just love . And I've noticed that it goes beyond brands, it's just a weird compulsion a lot of us have to keep buying nearly identical products because we think it's the best thing ever. For example, I freakin' love taupe eyeshadow. Every time I go makeup shopping, I always look at the taupe pressed powder eyeshadows from every brand - despite having close to 30 taupe eyeshadows sitting at home in my organizer. To a lesser degree, I also hoard purple eyeliner. It's awesome! What's your secret product that you keep buying over and over again (and will probably continue doing no matter how many times you find the "perfect" version)?
Hi ladies, I found a recipe of a home made hair mask and tried it on yesterday and the result was whaooo......So I urged to share it with my fellow beauty talkers. It is so simple and left my hair super soft and shiny and without usual fly away tips.so take the following ingredients 1 Banana 1 Egg 1 tea spoon olive or organ oil ( I used Caudalie divine oil) blend all these things in food processor and apply all over your roots and length of hair just like a hair color. Pile your hair togather and cover them with cling wrap and then wrap up a warm towel ( I used a hand towel out from tumble drier) leave on for half an hour and then wash with warm water.Use adequate water to rinse off all the mask then shampoo twice to wash out any residues, use your usual conditioner and thats it
