My OCD started kicking after meganlisa suggested the creation of the Summer thread so why not have a Fall one already just to keep ourselves organized? Here we go Burberry and Dior Fall 2015 (Found by Rhiannon1419) Spring Collections - http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /Spring-2015-Collections/td-p/1825800 Summer Collections - http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /SUMMER-2015-COLLECTIONS/td-p/1927119
Does anyone else have this problem? No matter who waxes my eye brows, my skin scabs. And I mean pretty much every time. And it's not because the wax is too hot. It's not. I've even had people try to prep my skin beforehand. Nope. Still scabs. So I have to get threaded or plucked. I thread because I really love the way it looks (painful though!). Am I the weirdo here? 'Cause I feel like I'm the weirdo.
Can't wait to see what everyone is having fun with this month!!! It's also the month of my birthday so I"m looking forward to celebrating with other Geminis as well! Here's to a joyful June jubilee..Cheers!
trying new products can be...overwhelming. do you love a product because it works ? can you tell right away if it's performing the way you want it to ? sometimes i'm so happy to finally try something and let my enthusiasm blind my actual impression of it (at least at first ) it takes time to come to proper conclusions ! particularly when it comes to skincare, but makeup too. so here's a thread where we can discuss our experiences while trying a product for a first time. it can also be a place that people can reference if they're considering a new product. right now i'm trying a sample of the REN v-cense night cream. i've only used it for 2 nights so far, but i LOVE IT. i love it so much i'm tempted to go ahead and grab it up, but i need to make sure it doesn't break me out over time (it contains shea butter which *can* be a breakout trigger for me, but not necessarily). it smells of frankincense which i adore, but i know for some people would be a turn off. i'm also checking out the VICHY aqualia thermal serum. i really love the CAUDALIE vinosource s.o.s. thirst quenching serum, and prefer the texture of it to the VICHY, but think the caudalie may break me out slightly (i also was probably overusing it...i was very enthusiastic). so i'm just trying to figure out which i prefer. how about you ? __________ post trial edit about the products above: i had to skip on the REN because the shea butter in it was too heavy for my skin. and i suppose buying something simply for the smell isn't the best use of my moola the VICHY aqualia thermal serum, however, is in my permanent arsenal. i've already repurchased once since starting this thread, and have turned a few people on to it too !

Lately I have been going over my purchases and I noticed a tiny trend - I am obsessed with some things more than others. So what are your 5 things/products that you are obsessed with lately (it could be anything - from food to clothing to makeup, etc)? Mine are: - Skin care (Algenist, face masks, and serums) - Purses (bought 4 purses in one year, and continuing to look .. smh) - Starbucks (holiday drinks) - NARS creamy concealer - Bite Beauty
Today as I am looking through the orders that are on the way to me I noticed that I ordered 2 more of the same product. One I have already (GA Brow Maestro-ordered same color, wanted to order a different one). And I placed two different orders for Glamglow Thirstycleanse! What a dumbo! Now both those orders will have to be returned...ugh! I just can't believe I did this considering I was checking and rechecking my orders. And yes...I ordered them all from Sephora! Go ahead laugh and tell me what I already know,...I am indeed an addict and a goofy one at that. I'm blaming it on the weather since I think it's causing more confusion than usual! Ok that and a serious lack of sleep...zzzzzzz (I wish!)
I started this in Greenie's thread, but, people suggested to make a new thread for this, so here we are... So, Spring is finally here. Or... sort of.... ( But, that snow the other day has nothing to do with the bright yellow and pastel green I feel like wearing, right? ) Anyway, I was thinking we could do 30+ day challenge of Spring ( and Summer ) colors, just for fun, and the heck of it. Let's have some fun! If anyone feels like joining me, please do. If you don't want to do the challenge, please feel free to stop by just because, whenever and why ever you feel like to. Let's paint the BT with Spring colors, ladies and gents! Lippie junkies united!!! P.S. It turned out I need to remove what's left of my "wisdom" asap... so.... Following a wonderful month of April deals comes MAY, one of the most colourful months of the year for me!! I love all the fun sets and gorgeous shades that pop up in May! May makes me want to clean out colours I'm not using and stock up on some gorgeous new shades! i hope everyone has an a-may-zing month!!! 😛
I love watching Empties videos on YT. Now that May is over, are there any products you are close or already finished with it? Post a mini review and let us know if you'll repurchase or not! so here's my first Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash - so this extra large bottle has been sitting in my shower for at least 4 months?? I am finally close to being done! I like it because it's a very gentle exfoliant and the scent is nice - but for me it doesn't give me the cleanest wash (meaning I have to wash my face twice in the shower to feel squeaky clean?) Will I repurchase? Probably not. I am moving on to the Glamglow Supercleanse Daily Cleanser - tried a sample of this and love the tingly feeling after it washes off!
A lot of us love the Off Topic section of BeautyTalk. Most of the fun goes down there. The problem is it does not appear on the main page to accommodate the few who do not like it. Many of us get busy and forget to check off topic. Rather than sending a private message to multiple people to remind them to get over there, it would be nice to have one thread on the main page to remind people to get over there. New to Beautytalk and not quite sure how to get over there? No worries. Follow this link: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/bd-p/Off _Topic So here are the rules of this thread. If you see something in off topic you want others to see, write a quick message here. Be sure to write something beauty related in each message as well. If not, this thread can get moved, and the whole purpose will be defeated. I'll start. Guzelkiz has an awesome thread about personalities right now. Great read. Also, I got two new pretty palettes today! The NARS dual intensity palette and the Hourglass Modernist Atmosphere are mine. They're lovely!
is it too early for this ? nahhh. this month i have two lipsticks that have caught my heart: NARS audacious lipstick, dominique. my "new nude" if you will. BESAME lipstick, noir red. the color of dried blood. dream come true. i've also fallen in love with a couple of eye products: BOBBI BROWN cream eyeshadow sticks. these are my favorite eyeshadow sticks i've tried. absolute convert. BOBBI BROWN long wear eyeliner. this stuff is good. i got both of those product in the bobbi brown promo and i'm so happy i went for it because, as i said, i'm a convert !! i went into a weird shop last week and found a brand of incense i haven't seen in literally a decade. so i have managed to make my place smell as it did a decade ago, which is both lovely and an interesting trip down nostalgia lane. OH and another lip product: SMITH'S (rosebud perfume co.) rose & mandarin lip balm (i got the one in the tube, not the tin). now, usually i'm against petroleum products on my face but i do make an exception for on my lips for when i'm sleeping. just locks in the moisture which is what i need. this "flavor" is just so dang good. mandarin and rose is not necessarily a combo you'd think of being particularly enticing, but they're two of my favorite scents ! so i had to give it a go. and i'm so glad i did. def check it out !! edited to add: BUMBLE & BUMBLE hairdresser's invisible oil--the whole range of products. i really really love the shampoo and conditioner. received this as the 500 pt perk and fully intend to get full size. leaves my hair clean and light, but not over stripped (highly recommend this line for color treated hair, as well as hair that tends to frizz !!) what else ? i'll add more as i think of it. how about you guys ? anything particular pull at your heartstrings this month ?
Hello lovelies, I'm curious about this. I do change my skincare and makeup routines. I do way less face oils in the summer since my skin gets super oily when it's hot. So maybe Josie Maran Aragan Oil a few times a week in the evening instead of every night the rest of the year. I also depend way more on on BB cream (I love Maybelline Dream Finish BB Cream) and my NARS Concealer Stick for daily coverage. I also don't opt so much for a full face of makeup during the work week. I definitely still do mascara, liner, blush, but I do more lip glosses than lipsticks. But I still love my bright lip colors. If I do eye shadow, it's maybe one neutral color. Of course, if I'm going out in the evening, it's full everything! What about you?
Hi! I recently tried my first self tanner and I FELL HEAD OVER HEELS with my results. I tried the Vita Liberata that was 100pt perk. My husband really liked it too. He said it was a nice touch of color on my skin and he liked the way it looked. Now let me just say that my husband rarely ever notices let alone compliments anything i do that relates to makeup--etc. But when he complimented my tan, it just made even more obsessed. I am wondering if there are a lot of you that maintain self tanning? I want to but i keep thinking about the gamillion foundations and powders that matched my naturally light skin and the thought of having to buy darker foundations and sounds like a huge fiasco i don't want to undertake. Anybody here year long self tanners? How do you prolong a tan and keep it from fading quickly. Which products do you use?
I have Cerebral Palsy and the way I apply makeup is different than an able-bodied person due to my limited use of only one limb. I can also use only certain packaging that I can open and close myself. I am just wondering if perhaps there are other disabled people here so we could exchange helpful hints and such.
I have replied to so many threads about sensitive acne prone skin and the like. I just wish people would search these boards before starting a new thread for a concern that already exists multiple times. I love being a part of the community and helping where I can but search is your friend everyone! *steps off soapbox*
For the past seven or so years I've curled my hair using a straight iron. I had my hair cut about about two months ago and figured I should try and baby those freshly cut NON SPLIT ends along for as long as possible. I bought a schmancy curling wand for when I wanted to do wavy hair because I realized I wouldn't have to drag the ends of my hair through searing heat! Yay! I'm so smart! Look at me! Look at -- oooowwww Oh My God what have I done? So somehow while curling I laid the top of the iron against my neck and got an awful burn. That was about 1.5 weeks ago. It's still scabbing over and healing and I still have to wear scarves, hoodies pulled tight around my neck and bandages in public. The outer parts of the wound are already scarring. I've had a lot of surgery and, TBH, normally I don't care about scarring. But this looks like a giant hickey in the exact place you'd expect to find a giant hickey. So TL;DR best recommendations on how to get a scar to fade/heal? How to speed up the healing of the burn wound? (I have a prescription antibiotic similar to Neosporin I've been using - should I do anything else?) And in the worst case scenario, best makeup to hide a new, dark pink/red scar. sorry for the novel!
I was wondering if anyone knew another site besides ebay or craigslist, to sell new/unused makeup, nail polishes, skin & hair care products? I buy a lot of makeup sets but don't always need all the products. I also have some lightly used products I don't need anymore I'd like to sell. Thanks VIBs!
There has to be some fellow superhero/comicbook nerds here on BT. Let's see your superhero and comicbook inspired makeup looks! I've seen some great inspiration from YT's madeyewlooktwice, and I've gotta admit, it's pretty badass. Let's see what our fellow BT nerds can come up with! Post your comic book/superhero inspired looks here!
Just called around to all the SiJCP and Sephora stores to try to find the MUFE Pro Finish powder for my sister. Everyone is out of stock, including online, of 110 Pink Porcelain. Is there a particular reason why? I know not all of us are that fair skinned.
Just coming here to vent my anger/sadness to people who might understand. I could barely sleep last night for being so upset. So I basically placed a small order with Ulta so I could yank that cute gwp they had last week. I noticed that Ulta ships via UPS-SurePost which means UPS will deliver your package to your local post office, and the post office will make the final delivery. Now I usually have packages delivered to my office but I decided to have this one delivered to my home believing that the postal guy would just leave that little pink ticket in my box telling me I could pick it up at the post office (this is always the case). Unfortunately when I went to check the tracking online I got the notice that the US postal service left my package doorside at 2:14 in the afternoon...AAAHHHHH!!!!! Spoiler (Highlight to read) Are you kidding me??!! I live in a New York City apartment building which basically means I could have a mafia boss, a wealthy scam artist and a crackhead all living on the same floor!! And the US postal delivery guy decides to leave my package somewhere outside my door??!!! It was too late to call the post office (not like they'd answer the phone anyway) so I called Ulta even though none of this is their fault. I was already in tears by the time I spoke to the rep but she was as calm and collected as possible while I was practically hyperventilating. She apologized for my loss and offered to issue me a e-gift certificate in the amount that I'd spent. I asked if that mint green purse w/ goodies was still available as a gwp and it wasn't..bummer. But she did advise me that I could hold off on re-ordering until Wednesdays when they have their beauty break and another gwp will be available. I wish I could remember her name so I could go on Ulta and praise her for being such a calm, collected professional while on the phone with a crazed maniac (me). Still (*sigh*) the feeling of having your things taken when you've spent your hard-earned money to buy them and you're sitting and waiting patiently for your stuff...just unbearable!! I went into a frenzy, cursed every living soul in my building, threw my phone up against the wall (thx HTC for making indestructable phones) and yelled so loudly my husband and 2 cats went into hiding. I couldn't sleep for being so angry so now I'm at work with red puffy eyes looking like a zombie! I know in the grand scheme of things, it was a small purchase, I'm kinda getting the money back and geez nobody died! I just hate that my stuff was stolen and needed to vent. Thanks for being listening BT *hugs*
I loved the samples I got at the end of March of the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue and how it made me look like I had a full night's rest when I don't (toddler fun), so I bought the full size when it was available at Sephora at the beginning of April. I've used it maybe a handful of times (you really don't need much at ALL) and went to use it and work it's magic this morning only to find that the product SEPARATED. All that came out was watery and not cool. The consistency is usually that of Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I'll be taking it back to Sephora tomorrow and exchanging it, but if this happens again, I'll be returning it completely for a refund. Not cool, especially since I loved using it before this was discovered this morning!
I searched around and saw storage but not many vanities. I just got my vanity in today, I'm probably going to get a chest to store everything else, because these drawers are small! They also don't open all the way. This is my set up for now. Whats your set up like?
I thought I would create a series of discussion where we could all share our make-up stashes. This is just meant to be fun. How it works: Just take a picture of the stash mentioned in this post and upload to the discussion board. Feel free to tell us what you like best and included swatches. I know some people would love that Ok ladies time to share your make-up stash for your face. This includes foundations, concealers, powders, blushes, bronzers, primers, and illuminizers/highlighters. This is the 1st in a series of post I will do. There is going to be one for eyes, lips, brushes, nails, perfume, skin care, body care, and hair care. I must warn you… I’ve been a MAC addict for years and years. lol
