The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

Have there been any new arrivals, brands, or products that have sparked your interest? They do not necessarily have to be brand spanking new but items that have drawn some attention and appeal to at least try.  Or are there items that you find interesting but would not necessarily purchase?  Below are my current curiosities:

Ever since I tried a sheet mask and loved it, I have been curious to try other varieties (at a more reasonable price).  Lo and behold, Sephora is adding a new brand to their catalog:  http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?brandId=Masque*ology  I hope to see these in stores within the next few months.

And thanks to a post I saw these facial mists from Josie Maran:  Rosey Mist - Refreshing Rose Water ; Lavender Mist - Calming Lavender Water .  There is also a brow pen similar in design to the REM pen that might be interesting.  It most likely wouldn't match for me but others may either love it or hate it.

Cake Beauty milk made - Never got the chance to try it at all.  Actually, anything similar to a milk body cleanser.

Brands that I am currently curious about (and are not close by to check out):  Edward Bess, Tom Ford (the contouring set), Burberry.  I'll probably post again when I find more interesting beauty goodies.

I'm very interested in the Dior Garden Party Collection, a Lancome blush and the new Josie Maran kits. I would also like to try something from Hourglass or Illamasqua.

Long time no see thread.

Sephora decided to bring out these lovelies to tempt my wallet with:

Rest of the lineup so far here:  http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?brandId=SEPHORA+%2B+PANTONE

As for the lipstick, it is gorgeous.  Merci beaucoup.

On the fence about cream foundations since there are signs of spring weather and creatures about.

I've refallen in love with a fragrance for spring.  I just have to decide what dispenser version I want.

------

@Sephoramusthave:  That Dior 5 Colors is awesome (works well with the "color of the year" eye shades as well.  Blush was nice but since I have other brands in mind, I resisted.

YSL Lip Stain is very nice.  Although the Sephora + Panetone manages to have a stain finish after a few hours of wear (either that or I am the desert) for additional warmth.  ;s

More new items.

Love the Tangerine and Corals I have been seeing lately.  Probably not the best color for a furniture piece but it does look nice on a Clarisonic Mia:

Fresh decided to bring out a coral tinted Sugar Lip Treatment.  It is very tempting.

Another trendy palette from Smashbox.  Has plenty of neutral shades and some colors that are trendy but will not scare too many (they can all be blended into the neturals for more subtle pops of color).  Great for all ages: Smashbox Shades of Fame Eye Palette & Brush

I love the orange Mia! What a fun color...if I didn't have a yellow one, I think this would be my choice. :smileyhappy: I love the Pantone lipstick, too -- its traffic cone orange hue put me off at first, but I really like it a lot! It's surprisingly very wearable :smileyhappy:

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I'm very curious about the new Pantone lipstick! I don't own any orange clothing, but I'd definitely consider sporting orange lipstick. I love that coral and mint are also very big for spring. There's just something about all three colors that screams summer time. I love all of the different colors that the Mia comes in, I love pink...but it's such a common color in the cosmetics world, so it's nice to have a good range of options.

I'm really excited to try Illamasqua's Skin Base foundation, which has a matte HD finish. It also hydrates, primes, controls shine, and is hydrating...so it's like a BB cream with more coverage. I'm also very curious about Too Faced's Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System, which allows you to control just how dramatic you want your lashes.

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I'm still fascinated with the LORAC Unzipped palette, I am a sucker for neutrals so that one is going in my collection. I got a cute little Too Faced Glamour to Go palette yesterday that I am looking forward to trying. After the last vacation toting my suitcase through the airport, I decided that I need something smaller than my NAKED palette when I'm going on an extended trip that isn't going to involve a lot of days when I need eye makeup. Travelling for work involves a smaller bag since I'm not gone so long, so a bigger palette isn't going to kill my back!

I want to try the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Hair kit, but that will have to wait until I've saved up some money. My hair will just have to be satisfied with what's in the beauty closet.:smileyvery-happy:

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

For those of you wondering about Edward Bess.. I absolutely am in LOVE with the glosses and lipsticks! VERY creamy and the colors are rich in pigment but not TOO crazy or drying either. :smileyhappy:

It's not on the site yet but we will be getting the new Versace Yellow Diamond Perfume which I canNOT wait for! I had a sample that smelled DIVINE and I love it.

I'd also like to purchase the Too Faced BB Cream (like Janine, tried it and loved it, the finish is light but it feels like velvet on the face!)

Like Keely the new Nars Hanamichi Palette

Peter Thomas Roth Un Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum

And the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil Free

And (this is interesting..) Sephora Collection Wave Hair Clamp

I already have wavy hair but this looks so intriguing to me I just don't understand it haha

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I am really intrigued by Edward Bess and I'm just now learning about the hourglass lipsticks which I guess have been out for awhile and raved about. I was also interested in the Laura Mercier lingerie palette but changed my mind after reading a few reviews about the staying power not being great. I recently ordered an eyeshadow and lipliner from Bess and the new NARS gaity blush. I can foresee a lot of EB purchases in my future (I think).

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I always have something out there that I'm curious about! I really want to get the Unzipped palette, I've heard really wonderful things from everyone about it! Those rose and lavender sprays by Josie Maran are also really intriguing, I love refreshing face mists...especially as the weather gets warmer. I also really want to purchase Too Faced's BB cream. I got a sample during my most recent Sephora trip and I LOVE it, the formula is so lightweight and soft!

Re: Brands:

@ran8: I *love* Burberry. The texture of the lipsticks and eyeshadow is outstanding. I can't say I was tempted to try the line; I went to the counter to get a gift for someone, because (at the time) the counter at my Nordstrom was one of five in the country. The SA was really nice (we're now on a first name basis :smileyembarrassed:), so I sat down -- and I and had the best makeover of entire life (which says a lot, since I'm no stranger to MUA chairs!). I love that it's such a minimalist line -- you won't find intensely bright colors or pigments, etc., but it's all so classic and wearable. (Rant over -- but, really, check it out if/when you get the chance!)

Currently, I'm most curious about Tom Ford -- I could go explore the line, because I have seen the counter at Neiman Marcus, but it's so expensive (and I'm so weak!) that I know I would walk out the door with at least a thing or two, and I have too much right now to justify a new obsession :smileyhappy:

In terms of skincare, I really want to try Dr. Sebagh, but the specific products I would be curious to try are so pricey that I can't justify buying them at this point.

Other miscellaneous items I want to try:

Edward Bess lipstick and gloss. The only EB item I own is a highlighting quad, which I love (but I'm still partial to my NARS Copacabana Mulitple and reach for it most often).

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic (also pricey. I have a vitamin C serum that I use and like, but it has hydroquinone in it -- and after reading that hydroquinone is banned in Europe for cosmetic use, I don't know how keen I am on continuing to use it (perhaps I am overreacting).

:smileyhappy:

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

@ry22: The Clarisonic is expensive, yes, and while it may not work for everyone, it has been the best skincare investment I have ever made (just my opinion!).

I completely forgot about this thread and decided to revisit! I tried the Edward Bess All Over Seduction in Sunlight  and love it. Although many have said that it's really small, a little goes a long way and looks stunning when applied to the apples of your cheeks.  I still have the REN Cleansing Balm on my list along with the following:

At the moment, I feel that I have quite a bit of makeup to go through before buying anything else.  However, I am curious about adding a few makeup brushes to my collection.  There are some new arrivals from Make Up Forever (eyes) and Illamasqua that I would love to try.

While I love the orange and tangerine colors this season, there are probably some who are not fans.  Instead, there is a new palette from Tarina Tarantino that would look great with or without a tangerine lipstick.

Emerald Pretty Eyeshadow Palette

Sephora Collection has some great new limited edition shades in the Prisma Chrome Eyeshadows that are gorgeous and silky.  These have been in stores but for anyone who has been curious about them, they are worth trying.  Surprised I have not seen these recommended as much.

Lo and behold more masks:  Apivita.  It might be a sign.  ;s

I am curious about Make Up Forever's foundations, particularly the HD foundation, as well as the concealers.  I had never even heard of this brand until I walked into Sephora and started checking out the site.  Admittedly, I'm a "foundation snob," who firmly believed that I would never find another foundation that would compare to my Prescriptives custom-blended foundation or the Prescriptives Virtual Skin foundation which is a very close second.  But a castmember at Sephora gave me a couple of samples to take home (#177 and #180) and now I'm hooked.  The #180 is perfect for me and practically disappears.  I love the "Is she wearing makeup?" looks I receive because my skin looks airbrushed, but natural with a glow.  As an added bonus my face is the same shade as the skin on my neck so there is no tell-tell demarcation line.  I will definitely be buying it once I have a few more shekels saved up.  Next I'll be doing some research on a concealer and some of MUFE's other products.

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I am currently saving my $$$ for a Clarisonic Clarisonic Plus Floral Print With Philosophy Set- Turquoise. I've been trying to convince myself that it's too expensive, it probably doesn't even work, ect. but I've finally caved and started to save up my money for it!

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

I have gone back and forth about the clarisonic for a few years. I finally decided I'm going to spring for the plus because it has the body attatchment too - I can somehow justify face and body easier than face alone. I really want to take good care of my skin though as I'm at a point where I would rather spend more on things to keep my skin healthy and clear than buy products to cover it up. Although, I'm a highlighter addict and that will never change no matter how good my skin comes to look.

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

After trying the 3 Clinique lip product freebies (one was a 100 point perk from a while back), I want to try more Clinique lip products, especially their Chubby Stick and Almost Lipstick.  I've also heard good things about their eye cream, too.

Re: The Anticipation and Curiosity Thread

There are some new item I really want to try but can't (because I splurged and brought similar item on sale WEEKS before, darn), and existing items that I've been waiting to try forever but never got to it.

Lorac Unzipped eyeshadow pallate: SO GORGEOUS. However, I brought Urban Decay Deluxe and True Blood for Tarte shadow box the same month, so Lorac will have to wait until I've at least made a sizable dent in one of the pallete....or when the lorac goes on sale. o.o

- Koh Gen Doh Gommage Spa Gel. Read the description and tell me you are not intrigued. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P302915

- Fresh Sake Parfum: I'm the rare kind that loves the smell of alcohol...rum, beer, amaretto, cognac, wine....but actually hate drinking them. So, naturally, I want this perfume.
