I stay up SUPER late all the time because I work nights, and I do it on my off days too so I don't mess with my sleep schedule. Am I the only one who has been a slacker with the product reviews?? One of my New Years resolutions was to sort through my email inbox, and I can't believe how many emails I saved from Sephora to review products that I would "get around to later." !!!
Well, I'm buckling down and getting most (if not all) of them done tonight. Do you all like to review products you get at Sephora online? Do you feel like it really helps you make a decision as to whether or not to buy something? I was just curious ![]()
For me, ratings/reviews on a product affect my buying decision about 30%. I do best if I can tinker around with a tester ...

To be honest, I don't think I have written ANY reviews on the products I by! I find that I give my advice so much on Beauty Talk that when I'm really passionate about an item it should show
Writing reviews would probably be a big help but sometimes I can't help but notice that my own review will be just the same as someone else's! 200+ reviews on items is a lot to me and what can I say that hasn't already been said? Either way, when its a unique product, or a new one that I'd like to try, I definitely love to read the reviews already there!

I do find reviews helpful, but I only do product reviews if:
1. I really really loves or hate a product.
2. there's not many reviews for that product.
If there's >100 reviews for a product, then I figure my time is better spent elsewhere (even if I occasionally am crazy enough to read >1000 reviews before buying a $30 product o.o).

I'm the same way @beautytester I'll only write a review for a product that I'm very passionate about. I feel like reviewing a product that I was indifferent about would just be a waste of time for both me and the person reading it.

I *try* to post a review on every product that I've used, but sometimes I just dont feel like it/have better things to do. I do it because I very much appreciate other peoples reviews because it helps me decide whether or not I'll purchase a product but I get discourgaged when a review of mine doesnt get posted. (I follow all the rules and just post my honest experience). There are a lot of items that I've owned/still own that have been discontinued so I cant even write a review on those. I tend to wait awhile before I review a product, I absolutely hate it when people rave about a product when they have only used it once (like a lot of the clarisonic reviews). But if you wait too long then your review might never be posted because it might be discontinued by then (I bought the Dior Holiday Eye Palette just before Christmas and its already gone). Unless a product causes a reaction within the first couple of uses, I wait until I have a good sense about the product as a whole. If I'm reviewing a kit, if its possible, I like to review the items seperately, because one of the products might be worthy of 5 stars and I dont want to bring that down to a 3 just because the other items in the kit dont measure up.

I also tend to put off writing reviews-- but I do think they are important! I, unfortunately, do not have a Sephora store near where I am-- the closest is about 1 1/2 hours away
. So I do really pay attention to the reviews and I also really appreciate makeup reviews with pictures or videos because I am often ordering products without being able to try them out first and I like to be able to see how they look on other people. I usually shop online with an idea of what I want and the reviews are very useful in making a final decision about what to purchase. Any info/pictures/videos/reviews/etc. you all can provide about products is very helpful!! It is always great to hear opinions and ideas from other beauty junkies like myself! ![]()

I'm glad that my reviews aren't going to be made in vain and that they actually help you out @blackcatmama!! And @Sarah505 I'm with you. I live within driving distance to a Sephora ... I think the only think I buy online is stuff that is either "online only" or in the case of the Naked 2 palette, too impatient to wait for! ![]()
And @katie1724 you are awesome for at least the 300+ reviews you've already done!!! I might just take your approach and review a bunch, but maybe not all ... I will be writing reviews for ages if I do every single product I have either purchased or recieved as a gift haha!

I go through phases...if I'm on a kick, I'll just start reviewing things and I'll do a ton at once. I have about a million to do in order to catch up! I think I did 300+ within the past year or two, but there are still more products I have tried and have not reviewed.

I do the same thing w/putting off the reviews. I always tell myself I'll take care of it and never do :/ I like to read reviews on a product before I buy it but I usually come to my own conclusions when I play with it in the store 8) There is a Sephora 5 minutes away from my house so I really only order anything online if something is sold out in my store but I already know it is a quality product. However, I love having them there to get an idea of what other people think of the products!
