Show us your vanity/make up set up!

I searched around and saw storage but not many vanities.

I just got my vanity in today, I'm probably going to get a chest to store everything else, because these drawers are small! They also don't open all the way.  This is my set up for now.

Whats your set up like?

Muji is the best!  I wish Sephora had some storage solutions other than the traincases.... I'd totally invest in a TON!  The idea of cutting up your boxes & displaying them under the glass is great!  I did something similar & put my LE packaging in a frame & hung them :smileyhappy:  I also really like your chair!  The detailing is perfect for a vanity!

I love what you did with the packaging from all of your palettes! It makes the glass desk look so bright and colorful!

Best,

No problem!

Re: Show us your vanity/make up set up!

This. Is. AMAZING!

Re: Show us your vanity/make up set up!

I love that vanity mirror! Did it come lighted? I'm moving and thinking of fun, ideas for my new vanity area but am having the hardest time finding a mirror that 1.) will fit the space and 2.) is not super expensive.

Re: Show us your vanity/make up set up!

No, the lights are separate but the mirror itself is only $9.99 (Ikea Kolja) and the lights were $14.99 (Ikea Ledberg). They are actually three separate pieces, but I only used two of them. They also have ones that come in four pieces for $29.99 :smileyhappy:

Re: Show us your vanity/make up set up!

So…I went to IKEA and picked up the mirror and lights tonight! It will be awhile before everything gets set up but I cannot wait!! Thanks again for the idea :smileyhappy:

Spice racks... that's genius!!  I get so worried about hanging things in our place.  I feel like I'd do something wrong & the second I fill it up, everything will come crashing down :smileysad:

The nail polish racks lured me in.  Where did you get these and how many polishes can one hold?  I like it as long as they come preassembled.  I hate putting things together.  Thanks!

Re: Show us your vanity/make up set up!

They're from Ikea! They're actually spice racks. They don't come preassembled but it takes about 2 minutes to assemble each one! It's very basic and very easy :smileyhappy: Promise! They hold about 20-24 nail polishes a piece. Keep in mind it comes in a birch color; I painted them.

You did a great job.  I keep hoping I will find something easy, but it looks like I am going to have to do some work if I want a rack that is not plastic.  I currently have 114 nail polishes, and that number will keep growing, so I would need at least 5-6.  Add painting, and that is too much work for me.  My SIL swears by IKEA, but I dread the place as I hear nothing there comes assembled.  Her dream is my nightmare.

It reminds me of when we ordered the furniture for my son's nursery.  For some reason, they refuse to assemble cribs.  We waited until we knew the gender to order the furniture.  I wanted white for a girl and natural for a boy.  It was supposed to take 12 weeks, but took almost 5 months.  They called me to tell me the furniture was ready the day before I ended up delivering him.  It was delivered five days after he was born.  My husband did not put the crib together until he was over four months old.  He had no crib for four months!  He only slept in play pens and the co sleeper.  We do not put things together here.  If I buy something unassembled, it will sit in a box forever.  I have a toy shelf in a box I bought over a year ago.

I would also say it depends on the size of the polish. I have a lot of OPI and Essie, which are on the larger end but if you have a lot of Julep or Sally Hansen (the cylinder looking ones), you can fit way more!

I have all of the ones you mentioned plus a lot more, including Urban Decay minis which are very small and Deborah Lippmann's, which are quite bulky.  I completely forgot that I had a Sally Hansen until I read your comment.  It is Dry Kwik, not an actual polish, but it looks like a polish.  I must have counted it in my total since it is somewhere inside my bins.  I am unimpressed with it, so I have not used it in a long time.
