a place to post about all things Sephora Favorites sets: past, present and future. Have a question, please ask. Have a review, please post. Have pics, please show us. These sets are one of my favorite things about shopping at Sephora. I get to try a bunch of products for a lower price and always end up finding some HG items.
Today, I got the Sephora Favorites: Beauty on the Fly. It was $42 plus ebates was at 8%. For me, I've either been wanting to try all of these items, or have tried and really like them.
More pics and thoughts in the first post.
omg, if only they included a Drybar Mai Tai Spritzer! But I think I might give in anyway, lol.
Didn't see @whitepolkydots's post until just now, but since I've already done the math and my numbers are different I'm still gonna share. My calculations came out a bit differently because I based the values on the full sizes and not the travel sizes (because imo the travel size pricing is inflated/misleading).
Edit: re-ordered, from "best" to "worst" value. Of course retail value isn't the same as value to you personally. My recommendation is to pick the products that you are the most interested in and will actually use. A high value item that's useless for you isn't much of a value, yanno?
$16.47 - 3 oz/ 88 mL DevaCurl SuperCream
$13.00 - 3 oz/ 88 mL Madam CJ Walker Defining Butter Crème
$10.34 - 1.67 oz/ 49 mL Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1
$ 9.90 - 1.8 oz/ 53 mL Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
$ 9.50 - 0.85 oz/ 25 mL Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Oil
$ 9.06 - 1.3 oz/ 38 mL Drybar Detox Dry Conditioner
$ 8.84 - 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Ouai Wave Spray
$ 8.43 - 1.35 oz/ 39 mL Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt
$ 7.75 - 1 oz/ 29 mL Bumble & bumble. Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry
$ 7.64 - 1 oz/ 29 mL Alterna Caviar CC Cream
$ 6.59 - 2 oz/ 59 mL Bumble & bumble. Pre-Style/Re-Style Primer
$ 6.25 - 1 oz/ 29 mL Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
$ 5.33 - 2.4 oz/ 70 mL Verb Sea Spray
$ 4.63 - 1 oz/ 29 mL Earth's Nectar Mint Leaves Scalp Oil
$ 4.50 - 1 oz/ 29 mL Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Mask
Ah! It's very interesting comparing our lists to see which brands have steep markups on travel sizes... I don't style my hair very often and get tired of scents/products quickly, so my repurchase(s) would definitely be travel size. Hopefully we cover both kinds of BT'ers! 🙂
thank you!! As a hair-product-newbie, I'm really excited to expand my collection at a reasonable price. I like the living proof dry shampoo so I added one of those as a "safe pick"
if anyone is interested, i jotted down the values when reading up on each item (high-low below). Most items with a whole price value (no cents) is sold separately as a travel size.

@whitepolkydots Thank you so much! What items did you chose if you don't mind me asking? 🙂
Of course! 🙂 @Lateesi Besides the LP dry shampoo, I grabbed:
- B&B Primer (interested in seeing how this will "refresh" my hair on day 2)
- Drybar Triple Sec (honestly just intrigued by the packaging/name, but I've heard about it on YT so .. it's time!)
- Alterna Caviar CC Cream (hoping this adds some easy shine/structure on lazy days .. aka everyday ...while conditioning my hair)
- B&B Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry (mixed reviews, but I want to try a beach spray that's not in the usual spray form)
I also have my eyes on:
- Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub (I like the smell + sounds interesting)
- Drybar Dry Conditioner (again, another "interesting" sounding product, but its ratings are low)
Just realized that its the Drybar Dry Conditioner and not the Dry Shampoo, I got too excited. LOL.
@wheeeee Look
And, what happens when you have all these products and WANT different ones??? ahhahahahahahah!
Need some Reverie!
Well, I don't have the DB DRY conditioner but it is on my list for another order.
Same thing here. Once I post something, there's some negative comments on my post. We here to join conversation and share our thoughts not making war. I posted comments asking the values of each product in the SF sets. Ok, nobody comments for week till I put on whatever I calculated. Then many people tried to correct every single things that I don't care. I'm not beauty adviser nor beauty blogger. If you love it then fine, don't need to point out with mean comments. At least, there's someone tried to calculate almost everything for everyone. Even so, sorry for don't know all of the brands or every little detail of products inside SF sets, My story is an example and I feel like wasting time to comment on stuffs that peoples denying most of it anyway. G9, everyone!
Does anyone know if there is a value breakdown for the Scouted by Sephora set? The $44 one. Been wanting to try the Drunk Elephant and love the idea of the Herbivore lip balm, but would never pay full price for it.
@dd0214 Just gonna throw in my two cents on the Herbivore lip balm... I've been using it nearly every night since April and I still have about 1/3rd of the jar. A little goes a long way! I really like it 🙂 I think the kit's definitely worth it!
@dd0214 I calculated it when trying to decide if it was worth buying but didn't save the calculation. The Herbivore lip balm is full size a $22 value. That's already half of he price of the box. That to me made it worth it plus I had an ebates GC and the LashFood also made it seem worth the price
I just swatched my Glow for it set, and now I can't stop looking at my wrist b/c its so glowy 😄
I've always wanted to try the Cover fx Radiance drops (I have the calming drops) & the mini version is soooooo cute! It smells super good too. The mini milk oil also smells good, but idk how hygienic the rollerball is.
The Lancome cream highlighter is really silky and pigmented, but I'm not much of cream blush/bronzer/highlight person. I prefer powders, but this one is so pretty I can't wait to use it. When would be the best time to apply it during my makeup routine?
The Hourglass Ambient strobe lighting powder reminds me of Becca Rose Quartz. It is a bit cooler and more pigmented, but I think I could work with it 😄
Watts up and the Becca shimmering skin perfecter liquid are just extras cause I already have them.
Swatches:
Becca Rose Quartz, Hourglass Incandescent Strobe Light, Lancome Glowing Lights, Watts Up
I think this set was totally worth it 😄
I think the glow for it kit is sold out? It's not online anymore.
Im bummed because I bought it, but the milk oil leaked...
im tired of calling the rouge hotline and just getting points, but I'm really upset!
My Milk Oil arrived fine, however it was my Lancome that was broken inside. 😞
I would hold off using the whole set until stores carry them, and exchange it in stores. I received my glow for it kit on friday, but haven't opened the package yet. I better check it!
I just checked mine, my milk oil could have been closed tighter but it didn't leak. I think b/c the bottle is plastic, they are afraid to tighten it too much just in case the cap cracks (happened to me before with other bottles). I would still return it in stores though.
Oh thank goodness yours didn't leak! Mine made a mess of everything and ruined the box, which sucks since I was planning on using the box for storage.
Oh weird. Still available in Canada! For now...
Yeah, it was on my favorites list and is now out of stock without an option to request an email when back in stock.
