Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !
today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

RANDOM BEAUTY FACTS ABOUT YOU THREAD !

This is along the lines of what I'm looking for! I'll pick up a tube to trial, it should be much cheaper than the Lush Body Conditioners haha.
I heard of that- moisturizing is supposed to be better within two minutes after showering. Also epilating/tweezing is easier as well.
It's so true!
Yep. I know. Why wasn't this in the manual? Between removing my makeup with oil, cleansing in the shower, Thayers lavender when I get out, and as soon as that gets tacky I layer on the oil of choice (PTR if it is morning, either Artemis or Badger Rose Oil for night) my dry skin is pretty happy.
Seriously! I'm just so happy to finally discover this! I'm going to have to look into some of those body oils. I've only tried the Loocitane one so many ppl like but, unfortunately, I don't like the scent of that one.
I'm using EO body oil since it has steam distilled lavender oil (good for my rosacea and I'm not sensitive for whatever god-sent reason). It is one of my few multitasker products. If you like French Lavender it is good, but I know you are scent sensitive. Any jojoba/almond/safflower oil blend should work.
Thanks for the info TSQ. I'll look into it. 🙂
Moisturizing right after really helps! I am paranoid about getting my skin 'dry' after washing it; i apply a layer of body lotion while i am still in the tub, and spray mist on my face if i need to do anything between cleansing my face and applying moisturizers.
It really does! I'm so amazed at how great my skin feels now.
If I ever become the ruler of the world, I'm going to make it a law that all cosmetics boxes have to have this little lip on the boxtops side for easy opening.
I also have realized I open a surprising number of makeup packages when my nails are wet. That little lip is really fresh polish's best friend.
I just stick my metal nail file under the lid when packages don't have the lip, I have saved many a nail that way haha. I really do wish they all had those, though.
Marcia Brady for President!
Omg yes!!! I hate how boxes are so hard to open. I end up ripping them all the time. I have noticed that Kevyn Aucoin is really good about having those tabs so those boxes are very user friendly. Definitely better for freshly manicured hands also.
Today was the first day in a long time that I've had the chance to putter around the house "organizing". Which means generally I pick up one item from the front of the house and carry it to the back of the house and vice versa, put on/take off another makeup item, drink tea and look at magazines, play with/update my z-palettes, etc. Oh, and take a million selfies every time I changed my makeup, (sorry in advance, lol)! It was so relaxing and desperately needed!
I was so excited when I found this little Lancôme pouch, I put a few of my Tom Ford samples in it to keep in my travel bag!
Perfect! Where did you find those samples?
Yes, what Mocha said! 🙂
Thanks!
KAt, you can usually get samples that size from a TF counter.
Those look huge compared to other fragrance samples, which are never really enough to decide whether or not I want to buy a full size...sigh. That and when the package they were shipped in sat in a hot mailbox a while...:P
Apparently, we can now choose not one, but two, Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDT perfume samples right now from the samples selection. I know samples are free, and it's such a trivial thing to fuss about -- but I'm still judging you, Sephora. 😛
On the other hand, I did try the Lancome Teint Idole Stick sample just for fun, and I was entirely surprised at how much I liked the product -- I applied a very thin layer, and it gave solidly medium-level coverage, didn't look cakey at all, and felt weightless on the skin.
