Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !

today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

I was applying sushi kiss today and put it down and lost it half way through doing my lips and somehow managed to lose it! Instead of freaking out and trying to find it, I decided it would be easier to just grab Mac Real Sexy instead cause I knew exactly where that was.  There are real benefits to owning lipstick dupes!   Yay!

I found Caroline Hirons' blog this week and have spent almost all my internet time reading the archives.  I don't know how I found it, and can barely remember a time before knowing of this trove.  I do not know why it so satisfying to me to read about skincare, especially when it does not apply to my skintype.  

Perhaps because it is so opposite my "day job".

I read Hirons blog as well and quite enjoy it.  I find her to be much more informed about skincare than many others.

I keep purchasing products that I have a very good guess that it won't work for my skin when I read so many good review. Now I almost feel like buying Good Genes from Sunday Riley, and I know...that...whenever I use any products with AHA my skin literally burns. Is there anyone who had bad reactions with AHA but ok with Good Genes by SR?..this is such a strange habit.

I didn't know Good Genes had AHA but got a sample...my skin....um...burned...

I posted on BT about another product, not even thinking that one use of GG could cause such a reaction...and not realizing it had AHAs.  Another BTer asked about other products..and knew of my issue with AHAs and diagnosed it.  Life saver.  The original product was okay...it was the one time use of GG.

So...stay away if you're sensitive to AHAs!!!

I KNOW as a fact that i get itchy, hard bumps (not a typical acne) when i use AHA,

but seeing so many people swear by it, I'm like...would there be any AHA product that works on me?

So...I am the best sister ever.

My sister is at work so she needed me to grab her some Kendrick Lamar tickets as soon as they went live. The site was being  weird so I called in to make the purchase and literally no-one else she knew was fast enough to nab them. So my crazy makeup-stalking skills came in handy today lol.

Crossing my fingers it went through and I didn't just excite her for nothing 😛

 So I'm back from the hospital and though terribly sore but a bit relieved. She doesn't find any new nerve damage and concluded the previous injury decided to act up due to scar tissues. She also told me about a new therapy and gave me hope that I can still expect some recovery for one more year. Thank you so much for all the well wishes dears. They meant a lot to me.
