Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !

today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

Oo, that's a thought. I only have e.l.f. and 3 Sephora brushes. I would definitely like much softer eye brushes.

I just received my Ulta order and I came to BT to rejoice! I ordered the Lorac Alter Ego lipstick in the color Goddess. I'm absolutely in loooveeeeee with it. This is my first Lorac lipstick and I'm SO impressed! It applied super creamy and it feels hydrating on my lips. It smells amazing and the packaging is super cute. I'm just in love with the color! I feel like I have been living under a rock or something.... where has this lipstick been my whole life?

Its the best feeling ever being satisfied with an online purchase 🙂

Pretty! I was debating on ordering goddess but wasn't sure if I should since I had the girl next door color and the color/formula wasn't very flattering on me. I'm wondering if I should give the alter ego lipsticks another try with a different color.

^^^^^^^ EXAMPLE OF WHY PEOPLE NEED TO STOP OVER CONTOURING. 

Victims of the "instagram trends". They end up looking doll/drag more than contouring. Instagram is just infested with girls who contour the life out of their skin and then bake till they look like Marie Antoinette. Kim Kardashian uses a TON of makeup but it doesn't look like oompaloompa with baking powder. It's like they slathered their entire face with orange-y bronzer and then added too much powder on top to highlight.

Everyone looks like this nowadays!  Everything is white underneath the yes and then the face edges are bronzed! Lol!

But, these chicks are hot on the show.  I like how they don't give a F**** around the other girls.

i do think a lot of the reigning makeup trends these days are entirely the effect of prioritizing a single good insta/selfie shot with complete disregard to how it looks in real life or wears through the day.......

It's like they're putting so much product it becomes a mask and it just looks fake to me. Also, with that much makeup not blended/placed properly it can go from glam to drag in one swipe. Unless drag makeup is what they're going for...
