Ok so I've been wanting to make this thread for a while. I've also been wanting to start a "random thoughts" thread...but I figured I'd separate the categories so that at least the "beauty" one is on the front page, rather than hidden in off topic. So, have a beauty-related thought but don't think it's worth starting a thread about ? Post it here !
today I got a facial at an extraordinarily nice spa. A real treat. And the results were immediate and truly great. But guys: she pulled out a clarisonic and a foamy cleanser for that first initial cleanse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Great for a lot of people but most of you know how I feel about those things !!!!!! Overall, as I said, it was great and my skin is happy. But sheesh.

RANDOM BEAUTY FACTS ABOUT YOU THREAD !
http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions/Random-Beauty-Facts-About-You/td-p/2409264
Here's my random thought for today. Does anyone else DREAM about makeup? I had a dream last night that a new line of liquid lipsticks was out (apparently, brands do not exist in my subconscious) and there were a couple of red shades I was dying to try, but I had to wipe off my red lipstick first.
I dreamt (more of a nightmare really) about skincare last night - the skin on my face was peeling off in sheets! It was rather horrifying. I think my brain must have been thinking about those foot peels that are so popular and transferred it to my face.
That sounds awful!! While I've never had that dream, I dream regularly about my teeth falling out and I hate it!!
I used to have that dream all the time when I had an intense dentist phobia. Now I love my new dentist and can go without crying (and don't cancel appointments), and I no longer have the dream.
I don't know why, I used to be fine with going to the dentist. But now I have to be medicated because I just bawl the whole time. It's awful and terribly embarrassing but I can't control it.
Not yet, but I will dream about playing Tetris which is the most frustrating thing. I can never escape those Tetris dreams.
I've had Tetris, Candy Crush, Number Cruncher and other puzzle dreams. They vary from I'm actually inside the games to I cannot wake up until I solve the puzzle. Seriously, I get bummed for real when I wake before the puzzle is solved. If I try to fall back to sleep though, the dream changes. My brain is even nerdy when I sleep.
I tend to dream of whatever game I've been hooked on recently. Solitaire is a crazy frustrating one.
When I used to play Bejeweled A LOT, I would have dreams about the game for sure.
Hmm. I don't think I've done that yet! I usually have nightmares about my job - something bad happens and all our research animals die or the freezer gives out and years of stocks are gone - or other nightmares. But I'm really anxiety prone, so I don't need anyone to interpret that for me.
However, the other night I dreamt about killer whales in military formation trying to climb up a beach. Feel free to attempt an interpretation. 😉
I dream about work all the time. I spent last night dreaming about a client whom I was scheduled to talk to today . . . then woke up and found out my boss had already had the discussion with the client last week and cancelled the call. Would have saved me a lot of anxiety if he had bothered to let me or the girl who does our calendar know. Men!
Your job sounds interesting! About those whales, tho, maybe the shark attacks in the news triggered your dreams?
That would make a lot of sense except that I don't read or watch the news! 😮
Ha ha, I love it! Much better to dream about make up than about walking in public naked! lol!
I have those dreams from time to time too! I also have a super weird dream occasionally about tigers on my doorstep. Paging Dr. Freud?? 🙊
Yes, only Dr. Freud could give you an answer on that one, lol!
Yes! I had a makeup dream a few nights ago. Oy.
Random thought #1- Does anybody else have the experience that I have of when you take antibiotics it reeks havoc on your skin? I don't know if I am super sensitive to antibiotics or what, but I just finished a z-pac because I was sick with pharyngitis, and every single time I have to take antibiotics, I cringe, because I know that it will break my face out, make my skin extra oily, screw with the texture of my skin (i.e. rough, not smooth texture) as well as mess with my stomach and give me really weird dreams.
Random thought #2- I get super jealous of my hubby because of his skin. He seriously has baby smooth, clear skin and I kid you not, he washes it with shampoo! WTH, if I washed my face with shampoo, I would look like....well, I don't even want to think about it! He does absolutely nothing- no moisturizer, no sunscreen, no face wash, no spending tons of money on skin care products, and his skin looks great. Good genes, I guess. His Mom has good skin, too. But, I am so jealous.
Regarding #1, I've never noticed this happening ,but at the same time I can't even remember the last time I had to take antibiotics. I'm currently taking penicillin for a strep throat infection though and will now be watching my skin lol. The only problem is I know my hormones will be kicking in soon so I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference haha
Um, hi, I could have written your thought #2. My husband is the exact same way! His face has a more even tone than mine, he gets NO sunspots while I still get them wearing SPF 50, and to add insult to injury, he's 7 years older than me and we have about the same amount of fine lines under the eyes:( What the ----?! He does have good genetics though.
Just know you're not fighting the good fight alone - I totally empathize.
Or head & shoulders has some sort of magical, anti-aging, skin smoothing elixir that has yet to be discovered;)
Yes, it's so not fair! Well, at least our husband's look good and don't have to spend much money on extra products!
