So I recently had my dress fitting and felt like a million bucks! I remeber when I first put it on and it fit fairly tight but it wasn't that bad. The woman told me that it was great to find this particular size that was perfect for me. I told her that I was planning on losing some weight so that I would fit better. She told me a lot of people say that and end up never losing the weight so it was better to just get the size I was wearing and they can bring it in if I did lose anything. This was such a bummer and for a couple of days I didn't want to work out because all I could think about was having the body I want and not being able to ever reach it cuz I'm so lazy. Finally I said screw it I'm gonna lose the weight at my own pace! I worked out and hard to where for a couple of days I ended up throwing up in the morning (thought I was pregnant there for that time). It was just because I had years of not moving around a lot that I got like that. Anyway I pushed through it and it stopped. I really thought I wasn't making a difference, then some people at my job looked at me and said are you losing weight? And I'm like I dunno I hadn't weighed myself but they told me I look smaller. Of course I didn't believe them I thought they're just trying to cheer me up. So about 3 weeks later I did weight myself and I find I lost 12 pounds! I was soo excited I got off the scale and weighed again!
When I went back for my fitting my dress no longer fit the way it did the first time. The woman pinched in the sides and it was basically about an inch on each side and I could finally see my actual figure! So happy! Now I'm still working out but I haven't weighed myself so not sure if I lost anything but my tummy is getting smaller so something is happening. Now I just gotta really work on my arms and thighs and I'll be bikini ready sometime soon! Ahh can't wait I've never been anything smaller than a size 14 and now I'm down to a 12.
So anyone else want to share any of your stories when someone told you you can't but you went and blew it out of the park?

Thats awesome sammiebaby! Im so proud of you! Now you can prove to that stupid dress fitting girl that your not like all of the others
That must feel great (: I dont have any stories like that, but I can definitely say that just your story motivates me to go workout. I always tell my self "Oh, I'm gonna work out and look AMAZING!" Then the next day I'm just not feeling it
haha. I'm one of those people who hate to do something if I dont see results right away, but the way you did it was a great idea, like, not weighing yourself everyday but every once in awhile. Thanks for sharing this! I love to hear stories like this!
Also, may I ask what your routine was? Like, how many days a week did you workout, for how long, and what kind of exercises did you do? I really want to tone my arms and stomach mainly, but the only thing I know how to do is run
lol.

That was exactly what I did at first. For about 3-4 times a day I would just walk/jog in a circle for 30 mins. Everyone has 30 mins out of a day to spend on just doing that. What I did was walk around for like 5 laps then jog for 2 laps then walk again then jog in that order for 30 mins. After that I started doing Zumba which is soo much fun! It teaches you how to dance but you burn calories while dancing and you don't even know it cuz you're having fun. It was awkward at first but I sweat soo much when I did that. You can also do squats which are really simple and add some weights to it to bring in your arms into the mix. Like do a squat with the weights pointing down then on the way up extend arms up. Also crunches and pushups are best for abs. Theres no way around it lol. I can barely do 10 in a row and still can't do more than that cuz it hurts but don't push too hard cuz you can hurt yourself. But theres a bunch of different types of crunches you can do that target different areas of the abs like bicycle crunches are good for lower abs, twister cruches are good more mid and lovehandles, and reg crunches are good for the top.
I also starting finding ways to eat better. I bought yougurt that was on sale at shoprite and made myself eat one everyday til I finished them. It took place of the 6 cookies I would eat and yogurt comes in a million flavors. I also got whole grain/wheat bread instead of white bread. I also started bringing lunch to work like a cold cut sandwhich instead of having like a Big Mac and my food is wayy tastier. Eat lots of fish too like shrimp and salmon and look at different ways to cook them to change up the flavors.
It's not a lot of work to start working out and eating better it's just a big commitement that one has to make and stick to. It is hard I'm not gonna say it was easy but I didn't see any results until 2 weeks in and then my pants just stopped fitting and I was like awesome!!! And then I took back the awesome cuz all my pants are one size lol I have to go to a tailor/seamstress to bring them in now. Also working out helps relieve a lot of stress and just made me so much more upbeat and happier.
Hope this helps!

sammiebaby, that's great! Congratulations on your weight loss!!
I went to the gym from January - May this year (had a membership for a fitness class that only lasted the semester, I got a B in it) and though I GAINED 2 lbs, I got smaller. My clothing that was too tight now fits better and I'm in better shape than before.

Thanks so much sammiebaby! Your advice is super helpful! I am seriously going to start working out tonight and I'm going to try to eat a lot healthier. I am so excited for this summer and my goal is to have the best looking body that I can have
