Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

I thought it would be interesting to see what everybody's own individual look is! Here's a challenge for you: List a max of 10 steps that include your skincare routine as well as your makeup routine to complete your everyday look. I know some of us may use more steps in the morning, but try your best to make ten. Please include the products you use and your skin type (i.e. normal, dry, oily, combo) And remember... “The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!” -Coco Chanel

Example:

Skin type - Combo

1.) Ocean Salt cleanser by LUSH

2.) Tea Tree Toner by LUSH

3.) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

4.) Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in light/medium

5.) Tarte BB Cream in light

6.) MAC Eye Shadow in espresso (brow filler)

7.) Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful

8.) Bobbi Brown Bronzer in golden light

9.) L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in carbon black

10.) YSL glossy lip stain #7

Good luck! :smileyhappy:

ooo this is a fun one! Good call Spyski! This is just weekdays. I'm a bit embarrassed how many products I use on the weekend since I normally do shadow, highlight and eyeliner as well!

Skin type: Oily :smileysad:

1. Boscia Clear Complexion Cleanser

2. Boscia Clear Complexion Tonic with Botanical Blast

3. Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15

4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation or Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation in Bamboo Beige (depends how long of a day I have ahead) both are full coverage so no concealer needed.

5. Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder with PM20

6. Blush: Either Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful or MAC Well Dressed

7. Smashbox Brow Tech: Dark Brown

8. Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Luminous Eyeshadow in either Emerveille or Illusoire

9. Mascara: Tarte on top lash and Clinique bottom lash

10. Lips.. I’ve been rotating Dior Addict Lipstick in 583 Backstage, YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm in #7 or Laura Mercier Crème Lipstick in Belize

I hear ya on the oily skin! Mine has been getting more oily now that it's warming up with the humidity sky rocketing. Blah! Oh, and I agree with Belize! Recently purchased that color has been my go-to color for work.

I love the enzyme peel to raise the impurities out to the surface! It was gross at first, then realized I had to use a gentle exfoliator to rid them once surfaced. Great product!

Ugh! I try to stay away from it when I'm stressed or hormonal. My face looks like a war zone, but I know it's helping & I rather have it at the surface than underneath.

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Today my oily skin decided not to be so oily, so I only did a water rinse before makeup.

1) La-Roche Posay Redermic +UV (anti-aging plus sunscreen)

2) LaRoche Posay Ultra-Light Sunscreen Fluid (plan to be out in sun, skip this on inside days)

3) MAC Fluidline in Rich Ground

4) Fairy Drops Scandal Queen Mascara

5) Tarte Maracuja Blush

6) Fresh Rose Lip Treatment

This is a minimal makeup day for me, I'm only going to town and the rest of the day at home, so no need for a big effort.

Great question!

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

These are the products I'm using right now, but it changes a lot...

Skin type: combo
1. Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash
2. FAB Facial Radiance Pads
3. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream
4. Dr. Brant Pores No More Primer just for my cheeks
5. Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream
6. MAC Pro-Long wear concealer
7. Laura Mercier Mineral Powder
8. Tarte Exposed Blush
9. Benefit Watt's Up
10. Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Rose

I usually don't wear eye makeup for day to day, it's more a night time/special occasions thing. I just hate dealing with eye makeup because it always always smudges on me and it's a pain to remove.

I've only been using Truth Serum for about 2 weeks but it hasn't broken me out and my skin is starting to look brighter. As for fine lines & dark spots I don't know yet but I'm hoping!

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Two weeks is about the point where I noticed results in brightening/more luminous skin too.

I have a few light post acne marks that it did help with, but I've also gotten Ole's Enlighten Me kit which has a mini size of their Enlighten Me serum which is more intensive than the Truth serum. It's more geared toward discoloration and fading dark spots rather than plumping, smoothing, and hydrating (like the Truth). I alternate with the Truth in the day and EM at night.

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Skin type - Combo, acne prone

1. PTR Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel

2. Korres Pomegranate Toner

3. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster

4. Origins Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel

5. Sephora Collection Age Defy Eye Cream

6. Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion SPF15

7. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF25 (Original-natural mint & shea butter)

I usually only wear makeup on the weekends or for special occasions.  When I do I definitely go over 10 steps with primers, BB cream, eye liner, eyeshadow, mascara, blush, setting powder, brow gel, lip gloss or stain & setting spray lol!

How is the truth serum working out for you? I haven't heard any decent reviews from someone with combo/acne prone skin which I have. I've been wanting to buy it for awhile now however I wasn't sure because it is a serum. Serums scare me I guess. haha

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

I had two .5 oz samples that I used in a row for a couple months and it lightened up some of my acne scars but not any of my sun spots that I have before I started to care about SPF. There's wasn't a noticeable enough difference for me, so I never purchased the full size.

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Skin type: combo, oily in the summer, dry in the winter.

I just wipe face with water/towel in the morning, then:

1. eye cream (winter only)

2. moisturizer SPF

3. lip balm SPF

4. primer (hydrating for winter, mattifying for summer)

5. TM/BB/Foundation/concealer as concealer on spots

6. powder (summer only)

7&8. Brown/black eyeliner on top and nude (Stila Kajal in Tropaz) on waterline for winter. Or, light/dark eyeshadow duo for summer.

9. Curl lashes

10. Perfume

That's actually the whole 9 yrs for me, except mascara/facial spray on rare special occasions. Normally it's just 1/2/3 then out the door.

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Simple is best with SPF! I totally forgot perfume. AHH haha

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

I've only incorporated perfume into my routine recently, cuz I realized I have 10+ perfumes, and I need to use them up before my interest wanes and my wallet wanders over to some new scent (florabotanica, I'm lookin' at you!).

8. UD 24/7 liner in Demolotion (line top and bottom, also smudged on the outer corners of lids

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

Gotta love those Laura Mercier Creme colors! So glad you recommended that lipstick awhile ago to one of my posts. It was hard choosing between LM or YSL for my lipstick, but went with YSL because it already had a gloss incorporated in the stain.

lylysa

Re: Can you complete your look in 10 steps or less?

:smileyvery-happy: My pleasure! I love the formula on the LM creme colors! So rich, I can even skip lip balm before if I absolutely have to!

I've been curious about the glossy stains...I'll be popping into a Sephora today so time to check it out!
