i'm looking to buy a foundation that won't settle into laugh lines or look too cakey. i think i have combination skin…. it's initially somewhat dry in the beginning of the day and gets super oily as the day goes on in addition to being acne prone. i'm torn between kat von d lock it foundation and Makeup forever matte velvet
I have been seriously trying to get into the contour world. I have been told before to use the NXY and I did not like it. So I've gave in and decided to either get the tarte contour pallet or the Kat Von D one. I need some pros and cons of each? (fair skin tone, combo skin type)
I have textured, uneven skin due to past acne. Its not too bad and dents aren't too deep but it is so annoying. My pores seem large too. What could I use to resurface my skin and get rid of this scarring?
I have just purchased the Fresh Seaberry face oil and the Fresh Lotus cream. I love them both!!! I would like to purchase a new cleanser, face scrub, moisturizer, face treatments, I just don't know where to begin. I have oily skin and sometimes have some dry spots. Any advice/Help would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you so much!!!
Just turned 30 and I know you should use a peel pad daily, and I've been told to use an exfoliator, should I alternate them? Or use the peel pad everyday and the exfoliator twice a week? I have flaky skin everyday, It's pretty smooth on most of my face but it's dry, flaky and acne/blackhead prone on my nose and chin. I'm also hoping to save some money because my regime is expensive and I think too complicated. Cleanse with Skyn Iceland Glacial Facewash Tone with Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Mist Peel with Skyn Iceland peel pads (sometimes daily, sometimes every couple of days) Treat with Ren Overnight Facial (usually on days I'm not using the peel pads as this helps replenish moisture) Serum with Murad (can't remember what it's called but it's supposed to help with hormonal breakouts) Moisturize with Ren Global Day Cream Indie Lee Blemish Treatment (it's the same as the Kate Somerville Eradikate). Things I don't want to change: my moisturizer (it's heavy but it's the only one that reduces the sensitivity of my skin and actually provides enough moisture, everything else I've tried from oil-free, to light moisturizers, to other heavy moisturizers and oils have not worked. My blemish treatment , which is a spot treatment I use at night and clears up my acne without drying up the rest of my face, and it works when nothing else has. My cleanser, it's a good buy, effective but not to drying, natural and is helping to balance my skin. Things I like but don't need or would like a cheaper alternative: the serum , I want something with Retinol that won't break the bank where a little goes a long way. The Ren Overnight resurfacing treatment , I love this but it's expensive and probably I don't need it, but it's nice to use once in a while when my skin is crazy dry. Things I need some tips on: the peel pads , these are a must-have but I don't know if I should switch to just an exfoliator when I haven't found them to be effective and I would like a cheaper alternative. Also, I would like good advice on a nice exfoliator with lactic/glycolic/aha acid or an enzyme exfoliator. I would like to simplify my routine if possible but have been struggling to find a way to do it, save some money but keep up with my skin feeling amazing (for the most part).
I am looking for a new skincare routine and would like to use the whole line. Im debating between FAB and Caudalie as I have sensitive skin. What do you guys recommend? I don't have any skin concerns besides pores that should be controlled with exfoliating I would appreciate suggestions!
I have super dry skin and have been looking for the perfect foundation that give light/medium coverage without clinging to dry patches and looking cakey? I prefer a natural finish and not too look *too*dewy. Thanks!
I have prom coming up in a week. My dress is navy blue. It has white, silver, a rustic gold, and turquoise beading on it. I'm not sure on what colors to choose for my eyeshadow or lipstick?? I have brown hair and brown eyes with a light to medium skin color. Help!
I will be going to Thailand soon, and the weather there is HOT. Better yet, I'm going during the humid rainy season! I would rather not have something that has a full, heavy coverage in that heat! My acne has gotten better so I'm not as concerned with getting full coverage as I used to be, but I'm still not sure which bb/cc cream or even tinted moisturizer is good enough to last in the heat! I've tried benefit's bb cream but the somewhat powdery finish made my dry spots look splotched an uneven, as any powder foundation does. I have fair, sensitive skin that is dry combination. Thanks for any suggestions!
Hi! Now that summer is here (even though I'm in LA so it's sunny all the time), I am especially concerned with getting enough sun protection! My makeup contains SPF 30 and I apply it each morning. To be specific, I generally use Tarte Tinted Primer with SPF 30. Is this enough to get through the day? I always go on a 30 minutes walk in the sunshine during lunch, 6 hours after application. I'm inside the rest of the day. Is this enough? Do I need to be reapplying? I also have very oily skin so can't be putting on lotion throughout the day. What do I do?????
I've been wanting to try some new foundations and concealers since i'm almost running out of both. I know that you can get samples of both concealers and foundations but I don't know if you're only able to get a certain amount of each.
I am 51 years old and have as long as I can remember taken care of my skin, washing morning and night. Lately I have noticed, any foundation I try does not cover up the redness on my cheeks. My skin has never been one to break out, a pimple here and there, but not full blown break out. It does itch and it used to flake, until I started using Cetaphil, recommended by my dermatologist. What can I do to cover up the redness? What is the redness?
Hi all. I'm attempting to revamp my current skin care process. I'm 26, with oily skin and LARGE pores. I do get acne but mostly I just have massive pores for days which can pack in anything. I use a Dr. Dennis Gross Moisturizer and Fresh Eye Cream in the morning, but I don't have a routine for at night. Should I be using an anti aging products at night or am I to young for that? And if so what products should I be using?? Do I need a serum? Or an oil? Do people with oil skin use oils are does it make it worse? I definitely need to start using something because I don't want my skin to be falling apart in ten years. ANY and ALL advice is welcome! XOXO
No matter what I do to clean my brushes all the bristles never get cleaned. This is for foundation brushes expecially I don't know if I should be trying the sigma glove or if that is just an overpriced gadgets or what I should be doing this is for foundation brushes especially if anyone has any input that would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, with my Foundation brushes all the white bristles never get cleaned thoroughly. Thank you very much for any input or suggestions
This will be long, but please bear with me. I have struggled with bad skin pretty much my entire life. The only times I was somewhat clear and happy with my skin was whenever I was taking Accutane. Obviously, I could not be on Accutane forever and a few months after taking it, my acne would return. Then, I began working at Clinique and began using their 3-step Acne Solutions. I used the Acne Solutions Cleansing foam, Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion, and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (because I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide and could not use the third step in the kit, which was the moisturizer with benzoyl peroxide). My skin began to quickly clear up. Granted, I had a lot of hyperpigmentation but my skin was smooth and breakouts were controlled for the most part. With make up, my skin looked pretty good and I was content. Then, I started feeling like the Clinique Acne Solutions effects on my skin were wearing off, and so I began experimenting with other skincare from Sephora. My skin began breaking out and I frantically returned to my Clinique stuff. Unfortunately, it no longer works for my skin no matter how many times I try or how badly I want it to work like before. I'm not sure what happened or what changed. In the last 2 years, I have tried going back to it at least 5-6 times and have tried giving it a fair shot. My skin either never improved or just got worse and kept breaking out, and on top was starting to become dry and irritated. Sometimes I think I am going crazy but I really feel like something changed in clinique's acne line, it feels different than before! Then, I experimented with keeping things gentle, no fancy toners or acne treatments or anything. Tried expensive organic skincare, drugstore, stuff from lush, tea tree castile soaps, bar soaps. I never found a combo that worked for me, either drugstore or high end. All I wanted was to find one cleanser and one moisturizer I can use and notice a difference in my skin and acne, and it just never happened. I even tried using things with tea tree oil and didn't notice any huge improvement. Going to the dermatologist is pointless as I want to have a baby soon, and so I cannot use any topical prescriptions or oral medication for acne as they are all mostly a risk during pregnancy, besides I have tried many things with no lasting results. My forehead, inner cheeks and nose tends to stay pretty clear. I mostly break out where a man would grow a beard on his face and have also began breaking out a little on my neck, chest, back, and shoulders. Because of this I think it is hormonal, but I have no idea what this means or how to fix this expecially since I am looking to have a baby soon. I don't care very much for the body acne as it is mild compared to my face. Recently, I purchased the Exfolikate Daily Foaming Wash and was really loving it at first, but I have been breaking out as well and got disheartened. I also recently bought the Sunday Riley Tidal Cream but I don't believe my skin reacted positively to that either, as my skin is sensitive and does not like strong fragrances. I know this is long, but someone please provide me some help/insight on what I can do? Sometimes I feel like I have the world's most persistent, stubborn acne prone skin. I read reviews all the time of things that cleared other people up and I wish some day it could be me. This has been very consuming and frustrating to me! I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance
Although I am over age 50, I still have very oily skin. I currently use MakeUp Forever oil free matte but still have a lot of shine through. What color would I need for Marc Jacobs remarkable full coverage foundation if I have been using colors 30 mixed with a little 35 Makeup Forever matte?
I am having trouble finding the right products that I'll suite me the best. I have oily and dry skin, it goes back and fourth and I am having trouble finding a foundation that can suite it best with good coverage. Would I also need a powder too? I also need a skincare product that can help it as well. I like to stay tan so that's always an issue. I like to contour but it doesn't seem like the count our likes to stay well on my face, or isn't very noticeable. HELP PLEASE.

I am in a pickle and I could use some assistance! I am doing make up this weekend for a wedding I just found out that the bride has pink eye in both eyes. I know that I cannot have a brush touch her eye then my palette or tool touch her eyes then my makeup. What am I to do? I am afraid to use anything I own and buying something just to have to throw it out seems like a waste of money. Any tips tricks or assistance can help! Please I am really conflicted on what to do.
I went to Sephora a couple of weeks ago to swatch one before I dropped $45, and on my super fair skin, it looked like bronzer, which was not what I thought it was going to look like ( I swatched Dim Light btw ). I am talking about the regular Ambient powders, not the highlighters or bronzers or blush. So what are these supposed to do? How and where on your face are you supposed to apply them? Are they supposed to give you a blurred, soft focus look? Thanks!
Hi, I'm looking for a body wash, an exfoliant and body lotion for really sensitive skin but something that still feels fresh on the skin. My skin gets irritated and red really easily. P.S. : I love natural products. Can you help me ?
