I was extremely fortunate to be born with a rare genetic anomaly which keeps me looking younger after menopause. I at 69 look 45. In the hospital for a month I was surrounded w dermatologists taking blood samples. Two of my aunts were similarly gifted - one lived to be 99 the other 107 & my father to 99 - none had the normal signs of aging. I don't want to hide my age - actually I am proud of it and my accomplishments. What is your advice for make-up. I use a very little bit of parure by Guerlain & am ordering their lighter make-up for day. I use a 30 sunblock & have been w Dr. Perricone for years. His neck cream & my genes has kept my neck firm. I also use Perricone night recovery & face lift as well as other products (not piled on top of each other). Believe it or not I at times switch to the Olay regenerist line where I do see results, especially filling. But I will not say good-bye to restyln(sp?) as it can give me a lower eye fill where my skin is thin & and fill out the lower face. I am fair & have always stayed out of the sun but ride horses & then use 50 sunblock ever hour & half. Diet is not as good but I am a vegetarian who prefers to eat solids with soy, cheese, and nut protein. i also do curry, Vegetarian Chile. Occasionaly I get a craving & have a premium steak - I'm guilty but can't help it. It usually doesn't agree w me so I don't have it often.. Anyway I am normal, not dry or oily. Any make up recs would be appreciated.
I bought the Nars concealer in ginger and it was my first concealer and I liked it I guess, I don't think I really understood if I liked it or not at the time. So a year later I bought it again and then after looking at myself in the light one day it had dried orange and it happened every time I wore it. So i bought a new concealer (urban decay one) and it was fine. But what I was wondering if buying the nars concealer a shade lighter would solve it? Or should I just give up on it and buy a different concealer? I really want to like this concealer because so many of my friends swear by it.

I'm looking for the best brush to apply liquid foundation without it being streaky. I have tried both a traditional flat foundation brush, and a shorter bristles rounded brush from Sephora and both leave the finish looking streaky. I use a few different foundations, but the MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Coverage is my go-to.
I've looked around at previous topics but I'm not finding any great answers, so I'm hoping all of you great folks might have some suggestions. Lately when I put on moisturizer my skin just feels really sticky. It actually starts feeling that way after applying serum. I don't know if it's due to weather changes or if I'm missing something from my routine, but it's not fun. A finishing powder does help, but I don't know if that's my only solution. For background, I'm 49 1/2, my skin is fair. It can often be dry, and certainly a bit tight after washing, but does get oilier in the T-zone, especially now. I have been told that I have very good skin (especially if someone is doing my makeup). I have a bit of hyperpigmentation (mostly on the neck now, the face is definitely better and I think the Vital Light has helped that) that drives me nuts. Other than forehead furrows wrinkles and fine lines are not too big a problem, though I'm sure that they are on their way. Right now in the morning I wash with Philosophy's Microdelivery exfoliating wash, use Clarins' Vital Light Serum, and I've been trying various moisturizers. I have Philosophy's Hope in a Jar and Lancome's Bienfait Lotion SPF 30. (And I was just trying a Bare Minerals sample over the holiday weekend.) Or sometimes I just apply my Dr Jart BB cream. In the evening I wash with Philosophy Purity Made Simple, apply Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough serum, then night cream. (Hope in a Jar Night right now, although I was using an Algenist sample over the weekend and used that before the Hope in a Jar before it ran out.) Once a week I also use Philosophy's triple acid peel between washing and applying the serum, giving each some time to soak in (and not washing that peel off). I used it last night and every thing just felt sticky, sticky, sticky. (I do find the When Hope Is Not Enough often feels sticky, which is part of why I use it at night. I am never sticky in the morning.) So, am I using too much? Not the right thing? Missing something that would help things absorb better? I seem to have accumulated a number of samples so I could certainly try out other things for a while. A couple of years ago I had a great set of Guerlain Super Aqua samples and my skin never felt so smooth and so soft, but that is quite an expensive investment! Any thoughts/suggestions are greatfully appreciated!
So I am having a hard time finding a right foundation. I don't like super heavy coverage. My problem is no matter what I use, after I exfoliate, moisturize and use a primer, my foundation "melts" by my nose, between my eyes and around my eyebrows and looks blotchy and gross. I use a good face powder (I don't think my setting is the issue anyway). Can someone recommend something or what the heck is going on I hate it :'( I look so bad after a few hours and have to wipe it all off.
I have used hydrocortisone cream for years on my eyes to treat eczema, since I was a little kid. Now that Im getting older I have realized the side effects of hydrocortisone used for a prolonged time and want to prevent thinning and repair my skin. I am basically looking for a hydrating eye cream that will assist with this if it even exists lol, not sure if thats asking too much but I have no idea where do even begin there are so many eye creams! Thanks
hello! 21 year old male, work outside everyday in construction so I use Jack Black skincare line from Sephora to prevent aging. I have great skin and no under eye wrinkles or circles, but I want to start using an eye cream to simply prevent aging, any reccomendations? Thanks!
Hello! I'm really interested in trying the new Sephora Collection matte perfection powder foundation but am not sure what color to purchase. I currently wear Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation in light-medium neutral. Thanks!
Help!!!! I'm in search for a makeup routine that lasts from 8-5 with oily skin (I'm use a matifying lotion from my dermatologist & neutrogena water gel @ night). I'm currently using nivea men after shave for a primer & Lancome tiente foundation. It's alright but definitely makes me look shiny by noon. this doesn't cover my acne scars that I cover up with coverfx green color correcter either. I've tried applying my foundation with both a brush from Sephora & a beauty blender and neither seem to do wonders. After my foundation I set everything with Laura Mercier Translucent setting powder then use MUF setting spray. I've discovered that I hate any thick consistency foundation such as Tarte Amazonian Clay and the Make Up Forever "dupe" for that foundation. It cakes up around my nostrils & looks absolutely horrible & disgusting. Too faced foundation didn't wow me either and neither did estee lauder double wear or the marc jacobs remarcable foundation. The mattifying primers however kind of don't work with my lancome foundation, the primer sticks to different areas of my face like glue and then cake the foundation there (to apply the primer I do warm it up in my hands and pat it onto my face like I was told to at Sephora). The pore minimizer primer from smashbox doesn't work wonders on me either and neither did the becca mattifying primer. I just went to sephora and got samples of the smashbox 15 hr wear foundation & the new urban decay one. She recommended the smashbox primer water (a little unsure with that tho). Oh and I have acne prone skin that I have to apply creams for day and night. Someone please help me because whenever I go into sephora and they try to help me and put maekup on, it looks flawless but I have to wear it throughout the day to see if it works wonders.
I am looking for a new foundation that I CANT LIVE WITHOUT. I have great skin but have an oily tzone. I would say for that reason I have combo skin. With that being said, I would love to look fresh and natural- so either sheer build-able or medium coverage would suffice. Any recommendations?
I'm looking for a great full coverage, oil-free concealer that won't break me out. I have very sensitive, combination/oily, acne prone skin that is easily irritated. Any recommendations are appreciated!
So I went in to get concealer, corrector, and foundation. I just want to know if the shades are correct together because my concealer seems darker than my foundation. So, the Foundation = NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Cadiz Sheer Glow Concealer = Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Dark - Warm Color Correcting Fluid = Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid
