Hi there, I just purchased Smashbox CC Cream (Dark Spot Correcting). I was looking for a day cream which had SPF as well as dark spot correcting (I don't care for coverage). I'm a minimalist so I was really just looking a single, do it all. I applied the CC Cream this morning and noticed it's rather difficult to apply all over my face and neck. I am used to creams which a small amount goes a long way and for the size and price of this bottle, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Should I be mixing this with another cream? Will I still get the same benefits in terms of SPF and dark spot correcting? Does anyone else have a better suggestion for a day cream? Thanks!
Hey! I am looking for a moisturizer to complete my skin care routine.. Preferably one to be used at night (so I can bathe in it). I am partial to oils, but creams are fine. I am using a combo. of Josie Maran Cleansing Oil, for post makeup good cleaning, sometimes incorporating the JM Exfoliating Powder Cleanser... Ceramic slip and Good Genes (slip for morning, good genes every other night) Dr Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta chemical peels maybe 3-4 times a week, in the morning Boscia No Pores No Shine pre-makeup Does that sound like overkill? I dont have sensitive skin.. and my skin has been looking great with this system.. however I know I have to be smart and use a nourishing moisturizer that will really complement these cleansers and peels I'm applying. So! I have been using the Tarte Maracuja Oil.. No problems.. I bought it because it is supposed to help with elasticity; I had anti-ageing in mind when I bought it. However now I just feel weird using a cosmetic brand for skin care...I thought about switching to the Josie Maran Oils (I do have a sample) because it checks off every box I have for "concerns and skin tye" Any other product suggestions? Im considering things in the Sunday Riley Line Like Juno, Artemis and Flora.. but Im not sure which one is write for me.. My Skin: Combination (T zone oily, cheeks are a bit dry) Pores: enlarged!!, sebaceous filaments on my nose are my nemesis, clogged pores around my jaw (which will get the attention of a Derm. no products can treat these deep face demons) Not sensitive Could use some evening of skin color ***? Does anyone have experience using one or more of the sunday riley oils? Any product recommendations considering all sephora.com-available brands?
I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good cream facial cleanser? I used to use the Body Shop's Camomile Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover all over my face (because it was gentle enough) before it got discontinued as a cream and revamped to a makeup remover balm. I find the balm to be a bit too greasy and makes me break out. I also have used Biotherms Biosource Cleansing Micellar Water which is fine, but I find it can leave my skin a little dry. I find the cream is a good "in between". I have VERY sensitive skin and lately has been prone to breakouts. I've also noticed my skin is starting to get a bit oily, but has dry spots as I have eczema around my mouth. If anyone could recommend something that wont cause me to break out or irritate my eczema that is preferably a cream cleanser (one that I don't necessarily need to rinse off afterwards nor is exceptionally pricey) I would REALLY appreciate it!! Thanks!!!
Does anyone know of a hairdryer that has a cool or cold air option? Not just a "cool shot" button. I have long hair that takes a while to dry. I will use warm air for part of my drying and styling time, but I want to be able to blow cool air constantly until I get to the styling stage. I've bought several really nice dryers with tourmaline/ionic technology, but they are so HOT. And a little button to hold down for a "shot" of air cramps my fingers after a few minutes.
My T-zone area : Normal to dry skin Cheeks: Dry skin I have extremely dry skin and small circles (I don't know how to explain?) under my eyes and cheeks area. Besides that, I have flaky and open pores too. When I use my current hada labo moisturizer, it makes my skin oily. Should I change my skincare routine? I need suggestions on how to take care of my skin. I hope anyone can help me with this problems. Thanks!
I've been eyeing the nars concealer for awhile anyone know what colour I should get? I'm a light 44 in KVD foundation and 1C1 in Estée Lauder double wear foundation and a 1 in the naked weightless foundation , thanks !

I exfoliate, moisturize, prime, set... And my makeup still looks like crap.. Within 2 hours. The oil starts to separate the makeup , while ithe makeup is still clinging to the flakes? It looks terrible. I have tried brushes , besuty blender etc.. Anyone else have the same skin type as me? It's so frustrating! What are the best products for it ? Also any good products or tips for dry thick hair ? Please help!! Thanks primers ive used : smashbox , benefit, urban decay, makeup forever skin care I'm currently using : gentle cleanser by neutoragena, alcohol free gentle toner by neutoragena, and clean and clear oil free moisturizer . And garnier black head scrub exfoliater current foundation: Mac Pro long wear , and SEPHORA brand setting powder
Hi! I'm stuck home after back surgery so can't get out to my Sephora. I'm looking for a new foundation to cover/fill in acne scars. I have a great primer but need foundation. Here's my info: I'm naturally very fair with cool pink undertones but use self-tanner so not sure if that would effect the undertone of the foundation I pick. I want my face to match my neck with self-tanner on it. I think if I get a foundation with pink undertones it won't match the yellow in the tanner. I have combo skin, oily t-zone. I'm 53 and I take good care of my skin so wrinkles aren't an issue. To recap: need foundation to cover acne scars (some deep); what color/undertone should I get to work with the tone self-tanner makes my skin? I'm looking at Estée Lauder Extreme Wear (I think that's what it's called) or Kat Von D but I'm open to ANY suggestions. Phew! Ty so much for helping me! Being stuck at home sucks...especially when you wanna makeup shop!
Hi, everyone! I've read a bunch of older threads regarding glasses and makeup, but I have a specific question for those of you who wear glasses and makeup. I need to wear my glasses at work because I work on a computer, and I just can't look at screens anymore without them. I don't need them for the rest of the day, until it gets dark, and I need them again. Basically, I'm going to spend a considerable portion of my day wearing them, and a considerable portion not wearing them. Every day when I take them off, though, my foundation is smudged on the sides of my nose and the bridge of my nose, where they rest on my face. The question, then, is what will actually survive through 8 hours or so of glasses? My usual routine is toner and moisturizer in the morning, then primer (either Smashbox or the Porefessional, whichever I grab first), foundation (Clinique Even Better Makeup), and a little bit of powder to set it (typically ELF, unless I have a sample of something else laying around). Is there an unbeatable foundation I should try? Different powder? Or do I just need to start carrying a kit to fix my face after work? (Ugh)
i want to buy a good anti aging night cream and eye cream for my boyfriend who is 31years old. however with all the options its really tough to choose from. please suggest me a good oil-free anti aging cream and eye cream for men!
Hi everyone, I'm a total newbie. I have oily, damaged, long hair. I'm getting it cut to a medium length and want to start taking better care of my hair and my skin. My skin is moderately oily in my T zones. I'm looking for good entry-level (read inexpensive) favorites from everyone. Can you recommend me a good hair styling cream, heater styler, and a good face moisturizer and eye cream? What are some other products I should be adding? Thank you in advance.
I have good skin and I rarely break out. I don't like to wear foundation/tinted moisturizer/bb cream because it feels too heavy on my skin, but I need something to control the oil and shine. Is it okay to wear powder alone? If so does it matter if I wear setting/finishing, loose/pressed?
I bought the tarte Amazonian clay foundation in May like may 15th, its still full since I haven't used it a lot but I would like to know the shelf life if anyone knows it also, I bought Urban Decay Naked 2 like a year ago, can I still use it? The eyeshadow pigmentation still looks good to me. I've other people use their makeup products after the exp date but I wanted to make sure
Help! I've used the last of my Benefit YouRebel. I stocked up when I heard they were discontinuing it and I've finally run out I'm looking for a good replacement, I want something with a VERY sheer coverage that also makes me look tan and dewy the way that YouRebel did. I have very light freckles and I LOVE them so I do not want to cover them up. I'm also horrible at picking out shades and I live 4 hours from the nearest Sephora so I have to order online and can't get my skin matched, so suggestions on a shade that is as close as possible would be really helpful. I HATE the look/feel of foundation on my skin, I just want something bronzy, dewy and sheer what would you suggest? Thanks in advance!
Hello! I was hoping if anyone could give advice and tips on how to deal with a nose which is prone to getting red and shiny. I generally have dry, sensitive skin (and some days will even have dry patches on my nose) but by the time evening comes around, my nose looks like it's been dumped in oil (even on days when I set my makeup with Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting powder). If I try to get rid of the shine with blotting paper, for example, my nose turns bright red and stays like that for a couple of hours (a red that my concealers can't cover). So I'm kind of stuck, I either have to deal with the shine or opt for a red nose. I'm hoping that I won't have to purchase anymore powders as my Nars one was quite expensive (and still full) but any help would be greatly appreciated!
Recently I've begun to use the Smashbox BB Cream(which I am absolutely in love with — you haven idea what miracles it works for me) but only by itself. The only product I use it with is a simple moisturizer beforehand. The question I have is this: I s it worth going the extra mile to buy a primer and/or powder? I'm trying to adhere strictly to my budget, so perhaps is one more efficient than the other at keeping makeup on for longer periods of time? Thank you so much!
Ive included a photo in natural light so you ladies or gentleman can help me out. Im kinda thinking I could get shade 40 but Im also thinking itl be too light. LMK your suggestions as to which shade would fit me best!!
So, I've been looking back at this picture for quite a while now. My question is: How you do make your eyes look that expressive with just eyeshadows?! I'd love to know how to achieve this, technique wise. And, since I know the eyeshadows' color play a big role in the look too, I'd appreciate some product recommendations too.
