I recently switched from using philosophy Purity and a Clarisonic with a "delicate" brush head to Ole Henriksen's Pure Truth 3-in-1 Melting cleanser (Gelee). While I was in-store the Gelee was recommended to me on the discovery that I was probably stripping my face (it stung really badly when I put moisturizer on).
I love the way that the Gelee makes my face feel and the fact that my face is not red and super sensitive for over an hour after cleaning it. The only downside it that I have yet to find an exfoliator and a gentle morning cleanser.
I have used philosophy's Micro-delivery exfoliating wash and several drugstore brands but they have all stripped my face to varying degrees and the Micro-delivery wash left my face red and hot to the touch for about 45 minutes.
I am looking for something that is gentle enough to smooth and refine my face, but not so harsh that it leaves my face red and stinging.
I normally use the MAC veluxe brow liner in brunette, and I love it, but I want to try something new. I want to test out the Anastasia Brow Whiz, but have no idea what colour I should be using! I have natural darkish brown hair and very pale/fair skin. What would be the best Anastasia colour for me?
I have been using Dr. Brandt's Blemishes No More line for a long time and it seems like that line has been discontinued as it is not in stores or online at all. I have found a replacement cleanser (GlamGlow) and replacement toner (Simple), but I cannot find a moisturizer that works for me. I am allergic to benzene, benzyl, and basically anything in the benzly related family.I was recently trying boscia's revitalizing black hydration gel but it's making me break out. Do you have any suggestions for good moisturizers for combination skin that is acne prone? I would greatly appreciate any advice! Thank you!
I am pregnant and do not want to put my baby at risk by using makeup with toxins. I am used to using full coverage Kat Von D makeup and contouring. Most of my pre-pregnancy makeup had at least one of the ingredients to avoid. I am looking at different brands but the ingredient lists are so long and sometimes not listed. Its very time consuming. I wanted to know if anyone knew of any brands that were safe to use?? This is a list of ingredients they recommend you not use while pregnant: Aluminum chloride hexahydrate: Found in antiperspirant; check for aluminum chloride hexahydrate and aluminium chlorohydrate. Beta hydroxy acids: Salicylic acid, 3-hydroxypropionic acid, trethocanic acid and tropic acid. Chemical sunscreens: Avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene, oxybenzone, oxtinoxate, menthyl anthranilate and oxtocrylene. Diethanolamine (DEA): Found in hair and body products; stay clear of diethanolamine, oleamide DEA, lauramide DEA and cocamide DEA. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA): Found in spray self-tanners; could be harmful if inhaled. Formaldehyde: Found in hair straightening treatments, nail polishes and eyelash glue; look for formaldehyde, quaternium-15, dimethyl-dimethyl (DMDM), hydantoin, imidazolidinyl urea, diazolidinyl urea, sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, and 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol (bromopol). Hydroquinone: A lightening agent; abstain from hydroquinone, idrochinone and quinol/1-4 dihydroxy benzene/1-4 hydroxy benzene. Parabens: Keep away from propyl, butyl, isopropyl, isobutyl and methyl parabens. Phthalates: Found in products with synthetic fragrances and nail polishes; avoid diethyl and dibutyl especially. Retinol: Vitamin A, retinoic acid, retinyl palmitate, retinaldehyde, adapalene, tretinoin, tazarotene and isotretinoin. (Here are some retinol alternatives .) Thioglycolic acid: Found in chemical hair removers; can also be labeled acetyl mercaptan, mercaptoacetate, mercaptoacetic acid and thiovanic acid. Toluene: Found in nail polishes; skip methylbenzene, toluol and antisal 1a. Thanks so much for your help!!! I am going crazy not having makeup on, especially now that my hormones are going wild and my skin is breaking out like a teenager. Thanks again!!
I have been trying several high end eye creams that are supposed to help diminish dark circles but nothing has helped so far. The ones I have tried are: Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Treatment I have sensitive oily skin and fragrances tend to break me out. My dark circles are so awful they look like I have two black eyes. I believe they are hereditary and I'm beginning to lose hope in ever getting them to go away. I'm only 23 years old and I don't want to go through the rest of my life looking like a zombie! Please help a frustrated girl out!
I am looking for a product that can either cover up stretch marks on your legs or just rapidly reduce the appearance of them. I do not have "pregnancy stretch marks". I am a teenager and have the "your body is changing stretch marks" . I hope in the future this will go away but for now I just want to hide them
I'm 20 but my eyes look like they belong to someone twice my age. My skin is soft, clear, and very elastic everywhere except my eyes. The skin around my eyes is red, puffy, dark, surrounded by bags and fine lines, and at least 3x thinner and drier than the rest of my face. Eye Creams I have tried helped with the dryness and redness but had little to no impact on the darkness or lines. I would love some suggestions. What I've tried previously (for at least a month) Benefit - It's Potent! Eye Cream Radical Skincare - Eye Revive Creme Vichy - Proeven Eyes Fresh - Black Tea Age Delay Eye Concentrate Kate Somerville - Line Release Under Eye Repair
Do you offer color matching online like Nordstrom? I would like to purchase the Bobbi Brown "Face Touch Up Palette" but don't know which one to purchase. I am "Warm Ivory" in Hourglass Illusion, NW20 in MAC, Beige 20 in Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and #7 in Kevyn Aucoin. Thanks, I know they can do color matching with info on the Nordstrom site but I didn't see that option anywhere on Sephora so I didn't know where to ask. Again, thanks so much
Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me find the right shade? I currently use MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in NC20 I also use MAC MatchMaster 2.0 with their Mineralize/loose Foundation in light.
Whenever I wear foundation, it just looks like my face is dirty. It looks flaky and like I put it on with a dish sponge. MEANWHILE.... I have used my MIA 2 clairsonic to exfoliate moisturized used primer put the makeup on with a blending sponge have also tried with a few different shapes of brush NOTHING WORKS The color of the foundation seems all right? I am fair-skinned so I always just buy the lightest color, but it never seems to look as good as when the make-up artist does it at the store. HALP ME.
I bought my clarisonic mia 2 during black friday and I been using it.. it didn't really help my skin but instead it breaks me out instead. I been using it for a month and I thought the break out moment will go away soon since i read it will break out when you first use it, but NO it didn't went away it kind of gave me more break out. So I'm thinking for returning it.. Can I still return the clarisonic since its been a month since I purchased? & is it okay if i used and return it? Thank you so much!
i wear MUFE 127 HD foundation and i would like to try something new. I've heard great things about the MUFE mat velvet + matifying foundation, what number would be best recommended for my medium with yellow undertone skin?
I just bought the Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil after being able to test it in store and was wondering if I apply it before or after my Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration? So far my morning routine is as follows: Boscia detoxifying black cleanser Boscia oil free daily hydration Boscia BB Cream Hourglass hyaluronic skin tint My nighttime routine: Claudile polyphenol c15 anti-wrinkle eye and lip cream Korres Greek yoghurt advanced nourishing sleeping facial Any advice on how to incorporate the oil into my skincare routine would be greatly appreciated.
Hi All, I have ruddy skin and while I can go ahead and use my own redness for blush... I do not want to do that! I use Fusion Ink -- awesome -- which rids me of most of the my ruddiness. I was wondering what color blush and brand would be a fun try for someone who has brown eyes, normally wears dark eyeshadow and liner. I have pinks.. but seriously for the most part...pretty BORING.
Hi everyone! I've been getting really into wearing more colorful liquid eyeliners lately, but I've had one problem: on Sephora.com, the top-rated ones are usually black, brown, or grey! I really would prefer to use a liquid, or a gel if I really have to. So, my question to you is: what is the best liquid eyeliner that comes in colors such as gold, silver, blue, etc.?
Okay so I have fairly normal skin for the most part. The only problem is that I have sensitive skin and I mean HIGHLY sensitive. I'm allergic to all tree nut oils and I will break out in hives if I come in contact with any tree nut oils. I wash my face every night but I realize I feel like it's not doing a great job. I don't have cystic acne, but I feel as if there is always multiple breakouts on my face. The majority is near my forehead and nose area. Every once and a while I will get one near my chin or upper lip. I rarely break out on my cheeks. However I want a skincare system that will for the most part clear up all my acne. Any suggestions?
Hey everyone! I'm going to be island hopping in Greece throughout the month of June, and need suggestions for what to take on the plane (will be on there for 24 hours!) and how to pack lightly in terms of makeup, hair and skin care routine. I have brown hair, blue eyes that can look green-sh, and light skin (think Estee Lauder BB SPF 35 in 1.0 intensity, or MUFE HD Foundation in 115. I also have combination/sensitive skin. Most Caudalie products and Korres products work well with my skin, but it can be a struggle. The hair is pretty manageable, but can be on the frizzy side. Am bringing a curling iron, but would be nice to find something that I can leave in my hair and air dry and have it still look like. Need to find a good waterproof mascara for sensitive eyes and waterproof sunscreen for the face for sensitive skin as well. I know this post is long and asking for a lot, but any advice on any of these subject would be so much appreciated, Thank You!!!
I have really bad under eye circles, and since forever I also have these tiny bumps that gather around the inner corner of my eye and along my dark circles. I have done research and they say they are milia, except they do not look like large bumps, they are just small tiny ones that dont feel bumpy or anything! All of the concealers that I have tried have gone into these fine tiny bump creases, and I have not found something that looks somewhat decent. I have also been using an under eye cream by fresh hoping that would help, but it has not. Any help would be extremely great! Thanks!
I am in my 50s and I have seriously dry skin - I currently use L'occitane body butter for a moisturizer and jojoba oil too on my face and body - I am looking for a shower gel/body wash with oil or other ingredients that would ease my dry skin so it doesn't dry out as soon as I towel off. Also, any recommendation for moisturizer would help and am willing to try new brands. Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Hi, I'm currently looking for a powder foundation/foundation for my troublesome skin. I have really oily skin but dry patches on my cheeks, so combination skin. I would really like if the ingredients in the foundation to not have any chemicals or anything that will cause acne/clog my pores since I have acne prone skin.
No matter what I use my eye makeup ends up smudging by afternoon! I literally tried using everything.... right now I usually use the Urban Decay primer potion, Naked palette, Bobbi Brown eyeshadows, and Bobbi Brown gel liner. Any ideas anyone?
