So up until recently, about a month and a half ago, I had extremely dry skin, so dry it would crack if I missed a part of my skincare regimen. I finally had it nearly under control and now my skin has done a complete 180. I'm so oily my makeup slides down my face in about an hour! The only thing I really changed was my foundation, I started using bare minerals bareskin. The weather is also changing but it's about the time where my dry skin just gets drier. I have no idea where to even start with the oily slop that is my face right now. What new regimen can I start to control this? What makeup with work with this? What products (skincare and makeup) will help this? Pretty soon I'll be drowning in my own face grease!
I am new to Hourglass. I have read different reviews and am also looking at the 3 shade set. I don't know what would work! I am in my mid 40s, live in the Upper Midwest (so tan fades as the daylight does). I have brown eyes, short auburn hair, fair skinned and have redness from rosacea on the apples of my cheeks. I also have oily skin/combination skin. Would the set's three colors work? Or am I better off trying a more universally flattering shade. I want something natural for everyday professional office use. Many thanks!
i am relatively new in the makeup world, but i really do enjoy it and i find that, for the most part, the makeup brushes i have once used and loved have grown weary and just aren't up to par anymore. if you guys could recommend your favorite brushes for eyeshadow and face brushes it would be very appreciated!! also i think i need a new eye primer as well. it seems my urban decay sample just isn't working quite right anymore.
I am currently wearing Dr. Jart's Premium BB cream, but it is starting to get a little to dark for me with winter approaching. I usually switch to MUFE HD foundation in shade 115, but I'm looking for something that is a little less foundationy (if that makes sense). I would like something thats light feeling on the skin, but still somewhat full coverage and has multiple shades. I have combo-dry skin and I am fair. What are your recommendations?
What is the correct way to apply a face mask? Is it a matter of preference? I've always applied masks with my fingers. Boscia has a sample set that comes with a brush. The included brush got me wondering. Thanks!
I'm looking for a cream (or other method) that will get rid of my laugh lines. I'm only 23, so I don't want anything too advanced. My face is pretty skinny, which I'm guessing is part of the reason why my laugh lines are more visible than most. I'd like more than just a filler. I'd like something with a more permanent fix. Any suggestions?
Hello! I'm trying to take better care of my skin by using an eye cream. I have some dark circles and slight puffiness because I don't sleep well. I'm a full time grad student and who has time for that?? My problem is that every eye cream I've used makes me wake up with watery itchy eyes. I think I must rub my eyes in my sleep and get the product in there. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, just my eyes because I wear contact lenses and touch them all the time. I'm looking for something gentle and I'd love any recommendations. I'm only 22 so I don't need anything heavily anti aging (or expensive....), just hydrating and will help with puffiness. I've tried the following products (all sample jars from sephora or in those Clinique gift sets). Clinique All About Eyes FRESH Hydrating Rose Gel Cream (which really helped with puffiness so I may just keep using it anyway) FRESH Black Tea Eye Concentrate Clinique repairwear laser focus and AMOREPACIFIC Future response Age Defense Creme Every single one makes me an itchy water beast. The only thing that doesn't is my Nivea Soft creme. It has jojoba oil and vitamin E, is that good enough instead of an eye cream? Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!
What is the best eyeshadow for really sensitive skin? My eyelids have been very sensitive lately, I think an allergic reaction to some old makeup I used, so I'm hesitant to use anything too harsh on them.
I'm fourteen and I'm in need of- - Light weight, long lasting coverage (either foundation or BB cream ) - Bronzer that isn't orange . I've used Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess which is extremely orange..ick. - Lengthening mascara . I have very short lashes sooo! Thanks so much! By the way, the price doesn't matter. This is my first time posting here, and I am in desperate need of some advice. I have tried several different concealers (both drugstore and high-end from Sephora) and have yet to find a product that really matches my skin-tone. I have quite pale skin (some would say very pale) with pink undertones, which are not deep at all. For reference, the shade 001 (Light) in Dior's Diorskin Nude BB Crème matches my skin flawlessly. Essentially, my problem is that all of the concealers I've tried have an orange or yellow base, and I need one with more of a pink base, but I've been unable to find one. I'm currently contemplating trying the Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer in Fair, but from looking at the swatch online here, it also looks like it has more of a yellow/orange base and I'm leery of spending the money if I'm just going to have to return it. I've been unable to find any youtube video reviews of that shade, and my closest Sephora store doesn't carry them. So, I am taking to this board in the hopes that one of you wonderful readers will be able to help me with my dilemma. Also for reference, I've tried Bobbi Brown's Face Touch-up Stick in Warm Ivory (the shade that was recommended to me) and it too is too orange. I've also tried Tarte's Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fair, but it was too light. I'm currently using the Nars Creamy Concealer in Vanilla, but it too has a more orange base, and it doesn't work well for me when I have to use it to cover acne blemishes; I wind up with patches on my face that are darker than the rest of my skin because of the concealer's base tone. I've also tried Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage in SC 2, thinking I could blend a custom color, but it was too cake-y in texture and also had the same issue with the orange base tones. I realize I've rambled a lot here, but it's a frustrating situation. I would greatly appreciate any advice or opinions on which product might work for me. The other alternative is to drive to my nearest Sephora store and get in-store help; and that store is 80 miles away. Thank you very much in advance for your advice/help!
I have a chronic illness, and use to have a perfect olive skin tone. However, as my disease has progressed my skin is very pale. I have tried so many foundations, and nothing seems to work. I love wearing full coverage light, and flawless. Concealers are a problem, to. My dark circles are very difficult to cover. I wish my skin tone could have at least a warm glow. Any advice?
So im HORRIBLE at putting on eyeliner. I just want a simple look but whenever I try I end up looking like a panda. My sis says its because my eyes are too round but I dont know. I have just been trying to put eyeliner as close as possible to my top lashes and my waterline but it never works...any tips???
Hello, I visited my local Sephora store yesterday and tried cream eye shadow for the first time and they seemed very easy to blend . I have never used cream eyeshadow so I would appreciate advice on the following before I make the switch: What are the pros and cons of cream eyeshadows as compared to powder eyeshadows? Do you need to apply an eye shadow primer when using cream eyeshadow? Can cream and powder eyeshadow blend together? Which brand carries MATTE cream eyeshadows that are also waterproof and smudge resistant? The brands I saw were Tarte, MUFE, and Buxom but all of them were very shimmery and I am looking for daily wear colors. Any specific brand/color recommendations for medium fair skin with yellow undertones (brown hair/brown eyes)? Thanks!
I'm looking to purchase a curling wand and I can't decide between the "Nume Titan 3" or the "Bellami 6 in 1 set". I'm looking for the least damaging tool as well as the one with most staying power, please help!
I have some what of an uneven skin tone because of my acne. I have been using the Derma Doctor DD cream because I love that it doesn't make me oily like my skin usually is. However, I'm looking for a foundation that can give me a little more coverage when I need it. I have tried a few other foundations like makeup forever and all they do it make my skin super oily!
I have have ance prone skin and I use two different prescription lotions (one in the morning, one at night) I also have combination skin. Very dry but before I know it, my t-zone is super oily. I've been using bare minerals for as long as I can remember and I love it...However it is not enough coverage at all. I would like to use a liquid foundation and maybe finish with a powder? I am nervous that it will break me out. I have read reviews on all products but am always getting a mixed review. Thanks for the help!!!
So, I'm really sensitive about what comes near my eyes because my allergies cause bumps all along underneath my eyelids. I want to try wearing eyeliner but I really don't feel comfortable doing my waterline due to the fact that my eyes are typically irritated on that area as is. Is it absolutely required that I do it or will I look like a complete momo?
I am 14 years old and I am looking for a good foundation, bb cream, etc. that is around $35 or it could be under and that I could wear everyday that doesn't make me look cakey. I have normal to dry skin.
Okay so I've been having some problems blending out my shadow. They just aren't a dream to blend. I'm also lacking a few good basics. I'm looking for a great palette that has awesome basics, blends easily, and as good transational colors that work well with almost any color. Nothing to cool or warm. I don't mind if it had a couple.non neutral colors. Any suggestions please??? Thanks for your help!
If I have breakouts & have tried all types of acne skin care and nothing seems to keeps face clear am I using the wrong like of skin care? Should I go with hydrating or regular? I realize when you break out it doesn't mean you have acne, but I'm not familiar with anything else because it's really all I've tried. Maybe I'm drying and irritating my face too much where it gets the opposite effect? I have no idea but PLEASE HELP!!
Hello, I am wondering how the Buxom Lash mascara and Urban Decay Lush Lash mascara would compare. They have very similar hourglass brushes. I have been using Buxom Lash, and really like it. Should I stick with Buxom Lash or try the Urban Decay one?
