The number one thing I recommend is Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturizer! It gives your skin a healthy glow and still adds coverage! I also believe it has SPF in it :smileyhappy: it is a simple way to freshen your face for the beach!

I think it depends on how much you're in the water.  I actually wore Stilla's BB cream one day last week when I was diving, but I wouldn't want to have something non-waterproof on if I'm going to be in the water.  And after being in salt water, anything that isn't thin is just too thick and sticky for me. (Putting regular waterproof sunscreen on later since it was all I had on me was not fun.  I so wished I'd had time to wash my face, but it wasn't in my schedule. :smileyhappy: )

I asked a similar question here:  http://community.sephora.com/t5/Ask-The-Experts/What-is-your-favorite-waterproof-FACIAL-sunscreen/td...

I needed something for my face (I've got a huge body of Supergoop for my face) and wanted something light.

Laura recommended Lancôme BIENFAIT UV SPF 50+ Super Fluid Facial Sunscreen

I picked it up yesterday.  I love that it's water-resistant for 80 minutes and it feels really light.  Some things just feel too greasy to me but I think this will feel nice, and I can put it on even if I'm wearing a BB cream or something (or put it under foundation).

If you plan on going in the water, just use a waterproof sunblock. Don't wear makeup. Just don't. Trust me.

If you're not going in the water, you have options. You can find a great sunblock (SPF level is up to you, oil-free is best) and wear lots of powder over it. Loose powder works best but compact powder can be used if very skillfully applied.

Or you can find a foundation with your level of SPF in it already (difficult to find anything above 30 though).

Or you can mix your regular foundation with sunblock. This works for face & body.

Regardless of what products you snag up, proper application and reapplication is key for sun protection. If you're going to be in and out of water quite frequently, you need to reapply sunscreen every 40 minutes to a hour, if you're not so much in and out of the water but more so just sun bathing and laying out, reapply every 90 minutes to 2 hours.

If you purchase a sunscreen spray, try to dry skin off or at least pat it down so you're not spraying directly into damp skin and be sure to rub in the product regardless.

I'm a personal fan of La Roche Posay's sunscreens (they make sprays, fluids, creams, and formulas for face and body) because they're light weight, don't feel sticky or leave a film, and also include antioxidants in their formulas.

Hi Alkapassi-

I suggest an oil free spf moisturizer like the Murad
Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 PA++. It feels light weight and looks great underneath foundation. It also helps control oil as well.

I also suggest a water resistant formula for the body.

I also recommend the MAKE UP FOR EVER
Face & Body Liquid Makeup. It's a waterbased formula that gives just the right amount of coverage.

Hi Alkapassi If you burn easily I wouldn't recommend relying on a makeup with sunscreen for protection at the beach.  It is best to use a separate sunscreen.  I love Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion+ Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ For Face/Body. It's lightweight so it will work with your skin type.
