I'm new at face makeup so I went to my local Sephora and asked for a recommendation for a good primer and foundation for combination skin. They recommended me to Benefit's The Porefessional and the Smashbox Healthy FX foundation w/ SPF 15. However, when I tried the products at home I knew that they were definitely not for me. The Porefessional made areas of my face dry and flaky! The Smashbox foundation was way too orange for me and that is strange because I have yellow undertones. It also does not set even when I apply setting powder. I heard the Victoria Secret's VS Pro Airbush FX Perfecting Primer w/ SPF 20 is great and is a good dupe for the famous Smashbox primers. Any opinions? My forehead tends to get oily over a couple of hours because I have bangs. My cheeks tend to be drier. Is there a good primer and foundation for me?
Hi, I just finally started using makeup (at age 19 lol) and I'm trying to figure out what will go good with my type of skin since I have eczema. I started using bare minerals in warm dark. What would look well I suppose. I am a big eyeliner person anything edgy and colorful I like. Any suggestions or tips for a beginner?
I was wondering if any one else had this problem. I have recently changed all of my makeup. I never used primer before but started using the Bare Minerals primer. I love how it keeps my make up on so I am afarid not to use it when I go out. BUT I have been noticing in pictures that my make up isn't standing out. I wear foundation, powder, bronzer and blush. I don't look anything like I do in person (at least I think so) Does anyone else have this problem? Is it the primer or something else? Please help. Suggestions?
I am pregnant and cannot (and don't want to) use tanning beds this summer...I know I will get sun though, and even with sunscreen I will end up getting a tan line. (halter top) I want a quick tan that will last a couple days for each of the weddings, especially the one in late August when I know I will have tan lines. (The other one is next Saturday.) Which of these products do you think I should get? I know it depends on my preference; to be honest, I haven't used self-tanner since high school 10+ years ago so I don't know my preference. http://www.sephora.com/self-tan-bronzing-lotion-P2 61321 http://www.sephora.com/self-tan-bronzing-mousse-P2 61322 http://www.sephora.com/self-tan-bronzing-spray-P26 1323
Hello! I have tried MANY mascaras - Dior Blackout, Benefit they're real, Bare minerals voluminousness mascara, Lancome Hypnoses Star, MAC plush lash... ETC. I am looking for a mascara that will NOT smudge, I often get black lines on my eyes just below my brows from my mascara, it is awful. Can you recommend a few mascaras for no smudges and doll like, plush lashes? thanks!
Hi! I have fine, color-treated hair, which breaks slightly at the temples. Is there any shampoo out there that will give volume, anti-breakage without stripping my color? Also, are BB creams good for fine hair? For the face do CC creams so anything for wrinkles. Thanks much@
Hello & Thanks for the HELP! I just bought the Sephora Moonshadow baked palette "In The Dark". I love it! But I need help finding another palette (affordable, please!) that I can use for everyday eye shadow looks. INFO: I have light, sensitive, skin with random freckles and moderate acne. My natural hair color is VERY dark, but it is dyed golden blond. I have medium blue eyes. This picture is from my wedding 3 years ago; I am usually not this tan-even in the summer months! My avatar is most accurate. I am open to any suggestions on fun colors-Summer ROCKS! I would like a palette, but whatever anyone can suggest for me helps. THANKS SO MUCH! Alicia
Hi Ladies, I bought GHD classic 1 inch today but as it doesnot have adjustable temp control so I am afraid that it wont damage my hairs or make them dry.Should I keep it or change it with T3 single pass styling iron or any other. Please suggest BTW I have long ,slighty waivy hairs
I have been using Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser which I really like because 1. It is a very natural cleanser and 2. it has a soothing and not overpowering smell and 3. it doesn't make me break out like some other natural cleansers have (for example boscia botanical blast) . The one real issue that I have with my Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser is that it does not have enough cleansing power to remove my make up/ the day completely. This time around I ordered the balancing cleanser but yikes! people were not exagggerating in reviews about the smell. I don't think that am going to be able to use it with how intense it smells. Does any one have any suggestions for another cleanser along the lines of the Jurlique Gentle Foaming Cleanser but with a little more oomph to it and or another product that I could use in conjunction with the cleanser in order to make it more effective? Thanks!!
I'm 28, but I'm just now starting to think abiut using an eye cream. What prompted this is that I've noticed my left eyelid has a little more laxity to it than my right one. It's probably been like that for quite some time, but I'm applying eye make-up more carefully now than I used to. I've started researching eye creams that could help tighten my upper eyelid, but many instructions state to apply the cream on the eye contour or the C-shape. I don't want to put something on my eyelid that shouldn't go there! I did come across Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Serum, Dermadoctor photo dynamic liquid dymanic eye lift lotion, and algenist firming and lifting eye gel. Of the three, The Dennis Gross was the only one that specifically said that eyelid was OK, so I'm leaning toward that one. Is there another product that would be better? Does it make sense for me to use an eye cream just because the skin on my left eyelid has more "give" to it than the one on the right? I don't really have other skin concerns around my eyes. Under eyes are dark (genetic, so nothing can be done about that) but not puffy. Only very fine lines under my eyes. No crows' feet. I think that's everything. Sorry for the novel.
Now that I've heard all the hype about Kat Von D's foundation, I want to try it but i'm unsure of the colors... I use Nars tinted moisturizer in Seychelles and powder foundation in Sedona and Syracuse. Those have a yellowish-brown undertone and the Kat undertones don't really seem to match up. Can you suggest something that might work well?

I am olive complected, and although I get very pale in the winter, I tan super easily and get quite dark. I have been using and loving Dr. Jart's Premium+ Beauty Balm, but after just a few sunny days, it has quickly become far too light. I'm willing to switch brands if need be, although I would also be happy to stick with Dr. Jart's. Also, I have tried and do not like Dr. Brandt's. I have dark auburn hair and green eyes, if that matters. What brand or brands might work for me for summer?
Hey guys..I NEED HELP!! I have pretty dark circles and super oily skin underneath and above my eyes. I can't seem to find a concealer that works for my skin. I NEED SUGGESTIONS!! I'm half asian so I do have the oily asian skin. I've tried Bobbi Brown concealer and it just cakes and eventually wears off. I can't wear bare minerals products because it makes me breakout... I've tried benefit's erase paste and fake up and they both crease so badly that I literally have to blend it every 5 minutes or less and wear off very fast as a result of my oily skin. I've also tried the new NARS creamy concealer but it's even worse and I can't find a tone to match my skin.. I also had a hard time matching tones to the lancome, smashbox and tarte concealers. I'm very saaaaad and don't like looking like a panda. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I've always found sunscreen worth splurging on. It's essential to your health, appearance, and aging process. Drugstore brands just don't cut it. They all turn white on my dark skin. Does anyone know of a sunscreen that won't turn white on my skin? If possible, a primer or serum would be great.
I already asked this on the product page I think, anyways I was wondering if anyone knows/has advice on what shade for the Givenchy Photo'Perfexion Fluid Foundation SPF 20 PA+++ would match a MAC NC40 in Pro Longwear Foundation (NC35 Pro Longwear Concealer).
I thought I'd post this here to get some feedback to hopefully help me! To give you all background, my skin is super sensitive and dry. I have tried a ton of different things, but what's truly working is First Aid Beauty or Nude on my skin. I gently exfoliate twice a week and am still dry at times. When I put on my foundation it's still dry on the crease of my mouth and my chin. This is what I'm using: Nude Perfect Cleansing Oil Nude Pro treatment serum Nude Cellular Renewal Moisturizer Nude Perfect Polish First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation Makeup forever HD invisible cover concealer Makeup forever HD Microfinish powder Tarte 16 hr wear bronzer Any thoughts you have would really help me out! I can't stand these dry patches anymore! It looks like my skin/makeup is flaking off.
Ok, I have dark circles around my eyes. Mostly underneath and along the side of the bridge of my nose. I am medium skin tone (or am I tan... no clue lol) so I don't know if the circles are "blue-ish" I do know that the circles have gotten darker with age, and no matter how much rest I get, they are always there. The circles are fairly easy to cover with concealer, but I don't wear much makeup... any suggestions on an eye cream? Thanks!!!
I have been using the Clarisonic Mia for about three months now and at first it worked wonders! My skin does look better but I find that there are tiny blackheads forming all over my face that I never had before using the Mia.I rarely get actual pimples or whiteheads now which is great...but the blackheads could be a bigger issue! I'm wondering if it's bringing them all to the surface and will eventually get rid of them or if I should just discontinue use of the product and see what happens!
Hi, I've been having issues with the skin around my eyes, and the actual eye lid. They can get very dry and crepey (while the rest of my face can be more combo with no lines). Wearing shadows has recently become a nightmare, especially when my eyelids get super dry. A lot of eye creams tend to just sit on my skin and don't absorb, making shadows crease even more (I've tried difference application methods, but the result are the same). I just tossed my UD primer potion (it was getting old). I'm looking for really good eyeshadow primers that are geared more towards dry and older skin (even though I'm 25 ) . Or at least one that wont further dry out my skin. Bonus feature that would be helpful but not necessary include: long tern skin care benefits, hydrating, good for sensitive eyes, can be used also under the eye before concealer. And if there are any eye creams that really standout and that you feel would be helpful, suggestions would be great. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks, Olivyah
What eyecream would you recommend for very sensitive, dry fair skin? I'm allergic to retinol, alcohols and anything harsh. I'm using L'Occitane Shea butter cream, but it's not working like I would prefer.
