best skin care for acne/ oil skin .

Hi i'm looking for a set to use for face. it's very oil , especially on the nose. My acne is also very bad. I tried Boscia, Burt's Bees , and am currently using Philosophy Clear. I hope you could recommend me a good set to use for my face. I want to purchase Murad because there was a lot of good reviews . However, i want to know the expert opinion . Thank you.

Hi,

Yes finding the perfect skincare routine is key and going the kit route is definitely a nice way to try products. I would suggest Murad as a great starter kit, but I would also suggest trying each product in sections versus all at once in case something isn't working.

I would also recommend that you use the skincare till you see some difference (usually takes about 4-6 weeks) and then slowly incorporate others if you find your skin balances. Primarily with the Cleanser from Murad as it can be drying through time.

Nonetheless I really think Murad is a great starter kit and I would suggest going with the large kit. This will give you the best results.

What I found for my combination/oily skin with acne is to build your own routine. I've tried everything from drugstore brands to expensive department store brands and nothing worked for me. However, there is usually a few products that stood out from a few kits. Most brands sell these products individually, so buy your favorite cleanser, spot treatment, etc and build your own. The boxes from these kits says not to mix brands, but it's completely fine and won't irritate your skin if you pick the right products for you. You know your skin the best, not some big brand who claims they know how to make your skin "flawless". I hope this works for you!!!

I liked the Murad clarifying mask, altho the general consensus is that the line is a bit drying. Since you have oily skin, I think it would be good for you to try. They have a travel size set for $19 you can test out before splurging for the full sizes:

I would recommend it since you have oily skin, it's a good deal, and the mask works for my acne. If the mask is too drying, you can use it as overnight spot treatment (which is what I do).
