Helppppp!!!! I am 49 years young and in need of help. I have not bought any foundation, eye makeup, blush or any other thing most women buy regularly in over four years! I have been battling Leukemia for 3 years and then this year was also diagnosed as having breast cancer on top of leukemia. I have been through the ringer in treatments and need some help. My skin is so horrible, as you can imagine, and I want to feel beautiful again. I never have been one to wear alot of makeup so light coverage is my thing natural. I have fair, pale, age spotted sensitive skin and not sure where to start. My hubby is my grade school sweetheart and loves me without anything on, he makes me feel beautiful but I want to wow and surprise him. help me if you can if not it's ok. xoxo thyou and god bless you all.
I got online this morning to buy more of my favorite foundation in the whole world, the Make Up Forever HD Foundation, and I cannot find it anywhere. Have they stopped making it? My heart is broken.. I guess now I am looking for a comparable product you might be able to suggest.
I am looking for a shade match in Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation. I currently wear a 7.5 in Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation, which is a perfect match for my skin. In the Double Wear I have tried 3W2 Cashew (which was a tad too light) and 4W1 Honey Bronze (just a tad too dark and orange). What Double Wear shade would be most similar to 7.5 in Luminous Silk? I am looking at 3N2 Wheat and and possibly 4N1 Shell Beige. Thanks!
I have always had really oily skin. Now that I am in my mid 40's my skin feels oily on the surface, but dry and tight underneath. I read that this is because my skin is dehydrated. Can anyone suggest a good cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that will not cause oiliness, but still moisturize/hydrate my skin? I have started increasing my water intake so hopefully that will help. Thanks for any suggestions!!
I have combination oily, dry and sensitive skin. My forehead is always oily not matter what I do, and my cheeks are more dry. I cleanse, tone, use an essence that I absolutely love, use oil and moisturize. I keep my skin hydrated, but for some reason my skin isn't balanced. I can't use anything with Argan Oil or rosemary oil in it because those irritate my skin. I use the Boscia Black Cleanser, Tsubaki Oil and occasionally the black mask. I use aloe toner, essence and aloe moisturizer from the Body shop and I love those. Is there a way to balance my skin without changing too many of my products?
My skin is fair/light with both pink and yellow tones. I'm usually matched with foundations mainly for yellow undertones, probably because I'm Hispanic and have very dark hair and eyes. While I do have yellow undertones, the foundations I've tried make my skin look too yellow (Bare Minerals, MUFE, Urban Decay). I've noticed that the lighter a foundation shade, the more pink undertones which doesn't look good on my. Should I be looking at a foundation base to cancel out the pink & yellow in my skin? Or should I be looking for foundations that are for neutral undertones to cancel out both the pink and yellow in my skin? Would appreciate your recommendations. I am looking for Medium coverage for dry/mature skin (lines), that offers a natural finish, NOT dewy.
I've been having the hardest time trying to find a foundation shade that matches my skintone almost perfectly. I believe whole-heartedly that I am a true neutral, and I wear Estee Lauder's Double Wear in Ecru (1N2) which should be neutral, but I think it's actually almost a cool tone. I've noticed that in some light it looks like a perfect match. However, under some lights it makes me look kinda washed out and ashen, and in others (like natural sunlight) it looks super pink comepared to my neck. I considered maybe trying one of their warm undertones (even though I'm definitely not a warm) but I heard they are quite yellow. I've been matched at the Estee Lauder counter many times, but I think the ladies at the counter are only matching me with what looks good under the fluorescent lights and not with what would look good in natural light. I love the Double Wear foundation so I'm not really looking for any alternate foundation brand suggestions, but I would really love some suggestions on how I can make the foundation I have now match my skintone better. Help!
Has anyone tried Biologique Recherché products, specifically P50 and Masque Vivant? The mask seems like a HG product for many but it seems to be more geared towards oily skin. I always associated aging skin with being dry like mine is. I know I need to use retinol at night and sunscreen during the day but at 48 I'm looking to getting into serious skin care and would really appreciate any guidance.
Any recs for a GREAT angled brush for filling in brows w/ powder? I have tried benefit, MUFE, too faced, sephora, UD (not full size -- the ones that come in the brow box -- not good), and MAC (can't remember what number, I got rid of it) and I am sick of wasting money on these things. Any recs much appreciated!! TIA
Hi all, For the past couple of days, something weird has been happening to my skin and I wasnted to post here to see if any of you have any experiences/thoughts on this. At night, I always cleanse my skin with either Clinique Take the Day Off Balm or Ole Henriksen Cleansing Gelee. I rub it into my dry face and then use a wet washcloth to take it off. This typicaly feels wonderful and refreshing. However, for the past couple of nights, my skin starts burning after I use the washcloth and take it off. It's so strange! The burning subsides after a while. There is no other irritation throughout the day - just when this is done. It also continues to burn if I use my toner (which does not have alcohol in it) after the cleanse. The only changes to my routine have been that I have been applying sunscreen more heavily (as in, in the right amount since I think I wasn't using the correct amount earlier), and have been applying it twice daily. On one of the days, I trialed a new sunscreen Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 and on the other day, I used the Supergoop City Susncreen Serum SPF 30 that I usually use. I have no idea what's happening - is my skin suddenly not liking chemical sunscreens? I have pared down my night routine to just applying a face cream at night - no serums or anything. This just scared me a bit since this doesn't usually happen to me and I have no way of figuring out what is going wrong. Please help!!
hi, I was wondering if there was a light pink lipstick shade (that isn't any kind of coral) that would work with tan skin that has yellow undertones (I'm pretty sure they're yellow)? I'm half alaska native, half white if that helps? Thanks!
Hello! Back at the Rouge Beauty before brunch event I bought Marc Jacob's Genius gel foundation and really liked it in the beginning. But lately my skin is not looking great (pimples a bit and it just looking dull) and my foundation seems to be 'sitting' on my face. I know I need to address my skincare but I'm wondering if anyone has had success w/this foundation and have any advice. I thought maybe a primer would be better but I feel like that makes foundation "sit" on the face even more so. I have half a bottle left so I don't want to throw it away. Thanks all!
Hello Everyone, I am looking for a new make up palette and I have narrowed it down to four but I can get only one of them. Which one would be the best. Please note I already have Lorac Pro and Tarte Showstopper palatte. Thank you for your help. 1. LM Artist Palette 2. Urban Decay Naked 3 3. Tartelette 4. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes I am open to any other suggestion by you guys.
I have been attempting to learn how to apply a full face of makeup. Since I have started using makeup in high school, I usually just stick to a cat eye eyeliner and mascara. Then, I graduated to using foundation and concealer but I don't feel that I am doing fully properly. I want to go out and buy everything that I would need to be able to actually do a full face of makeup, but I don't even know where to start. What tools should I get? What products should I be getting from foundation or powders? Or even where can I go to get more info to know where to start? Thanks for taking the time to answer!
What's a good moisturizer that has SPF and also controls oil/acne prone skin? I use the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15-PA++ but I no longer see it on the website. Have they discontinued this product? I've tried the Clinique City Block moisturizer with spf 25 but it leaves streaks on my face. Any suggestions what to use?
