I just recently purchased my first Kabuki brush. I have been using a beauty blender to put on my foundation up until now and really have no idea what a kabuki brush is for. To be perfectly honest I am quite a newbie to makeup...I typically use liquid foundation or BB creams because I live somewhere that is hot and humid all the time. Can a kabuki brush be used for liquids or is it only used for powder/mineral makeup? P.s.- this is the one I purchased.
So, I've been using the Devacurl line and I love it. Except, every time I wash my hair with the no-poo, my scalp becomes itchy, irritated and dandruffy. But this doesn't happen all the time and I have no idea what I'm doing differently. I got the Ojon line's deluxe sample, and using that makes my dandruff even worse.
I have a problem. I work in a smoky environment part time on the weekend, so my skin gets a little sensitive from the pollution which causes some damage. Usually when I don't work there, my skin is normal, with no problems. I am 40 years old, I have some wrinkles and combination skin, and after a long day get shiny.
Right now I use different products, ranging from cheap to expensive and they are clearly not working well. So I am looking for a day face cream to protect my skin from all that environmental damage and also an anti-aging serum. Somebody told me I should use Dior One Essential serum because it will detox my skin, and the Vichy Aqua thermal moisturizer. I don t know if these are the right products for me.
Also, I need a night serum, anti-aging night cream, and eye cream. I really don't mind getting two different serums, or moisturizers. I would just like to find something that will give me that beautiful skin we all dream of...
Would greatly appreciated any suggestions on brands and products that are best for my skin.
Im wondering what are the best cheapest makup brushes and like a starter makeup kit. What will I need? Also I am a redhead with very porcalin skin do you have products fyor that, I also have problems with a little acne and dry skin , Help me please, Sincerely, AmberLocks
My hair is naturally very fine, but I have a lot of it so I keep it about medium length with layers. After several years of color experimentation, it's almost completely back to it's normal color, but not quite the same on the texture. Not sure I'll ever get that back... It used to be very wavy to curly, but now it's mostly just kind of this awkward frizzy wave. I'm looking for a repair product that won't weigh it down because it gets so greasy so fast. I'm not entirely sure this exists, but I would love something that would give me the same softness, volume, and bounce that you get after a blowout. I've tried doing my own blowouts to no avail. I've been debating between Argan Oil and Altera's Cavier Cream, but I'm open to any products that may help.
Hello! For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had issues when applying false lashes on my right eye only. Just when I think my lashes are intact, within a few minutes I can feel my right eye starting to get a little watery and the inner corner of the lashes start to come off and even when I reapply with glue, it still comes off. When I’m applying eyeshadow, on my right eye, I always make sure to use eye primer and within a few minutes of applying the eyeshadow …I can feel my eyelid getting watery, and the eyeshadow starts to crease and clump and I’m constantly having to fill it in with more eyeshadow and I end up making it look worse. I've had my makeup done professionally a few times and have had my friends do my makeup as well …and makeup stays on fine with no issues… but when I do it myself, this happens. I just can’t seem to fix the issue. It’s so frustrating =( Any advice you have for me? I look forward to hearing from you!
My skin is quite sensitive and acne prone. I don't have many breakouts because I avoid products that contain oil. I also have mild rosacea on my cheeks. I recently purchased and used origins night a mins oil free moisturizer and my skin reacted to it very badly. It looks like I have a rash all over my cheeks and my skin got very itchy when I used it. I really need to find nighttime products that have benefits like anti aging and skin tone correcting in them but am having a very hard time. It seems I react to natural products but I don't want to use anything too full of chemicals. I am close to 30 and my skin hasn't been as bad as it is now since I was in high school. Please help me!
I use Trish McEvoy eyeliner (long wearing gel liner) on my top lids..in the middle of my lashes. For some reason, an hour later I have black circles under my eyes and have to carry Q-Tips around with me. I have tried a NARS pencil liner as well and it does the same thing. Could it be the oil content of my skin? It doesn't seem to make sense :-/
Hello, Im trying to find a new foundation and have narrowed it down to a few and need help making the final decision. Stella perfect and correct Dior forever Smashbox studio skin Urban decay naked I have combo skin and was wanting medium to full coverage.
I match perfectly with BareMineral Bareskin #3 Linen and Cover FX 30 but when i looked for a pick for baremineral original foundation powder it was Medium Beige here. When I went to the bare mineral site it was Fairly Light. I know my skin is neutral more then yellow from all the past foundations I've tried. I was just wondering if I should purchase the Medium Beige this site picked for me or the Fairly Light picked by BareMinerals site?
Ok, so I have seen people comment in various threads about items they would like to see coming out for the Holidays. That gave me an idea, and after trying a couple of searches and coming up with nothing, I decided to pose these questions to everyone on Beauty Talk: If you could create your own Sephora Favorites set, what would it be? Or, if you were asked to create the next amazing palette, what brand(s) would you use and what would be in it? These are just starting points, but lets all get creative! If it were up to us, the consumers, what awesome things could be created to get everyone excited? I will start things off! If I could create a palette for Hourglass, it would be a large palette (but not TOO large) that has all of the Ambient powders and all of the Ambient blushes. They would be smaller in size, but a great way to try them all and play around! Or could make 2, each with all the Ambient powders then add blushes for warm skin tones in one palette with blushes for cool skin tones in the other. What are your ideas?
My skin is my biggest concern for a while now, but after trying a lot of different products by myself I've decided to seek help from an expert. I live in a small middle of nowhere town so I'm not close to any dermatologist. I hope to get help online though. I'm 15 years old, but I already have wrinkles on my forehead and slightly visible lines around my eyes. Any anti wrinkle product that's effective? If the ones I have won't disappear I would just like to know if there are any products that would prevent new wrinkles. Next concern is that I have dark circles under my eyes, concealing is not helping just making it worse, is there any product/ I've heard that oils help/ that would make them a bit less dark? Then, I'm oily in the T zone and I always have at least one pimple on my face in that area and blackheads. The rest of my face is normal, not dry but not oily. Should I care differently for one area than the other? I have no idea how to choose a proper skin care. Discoloration is another thing. I no longer pick my pimples, but I did and they left marks, discoloration or scars that are like these little holes. Is there any way I could deal with that? I've thought about getting laser treatment for it after I'm no longer a teenager, but is there any product? I also have marks on my back from acne on my back, so it would be great if I could use it for that too. Then I have broken vessels or what to call it around my mouth and the lower part of my cheeks. I noticed them a few years back but it's possible I had them before that, I don't know what caused them and when they appeared. Again, will only laser help or is there anything else? I haven't been using anything on my face, washing it with water sometimes and putting olive oil on it which left the normal part of my face nicely moisturized and healthy, but didn't help the rest. Is it normal to have so many things wrong with my skin? Is there any hope for me? What should I use/ do? Thank you!!
I have oily, acne-prone skin so I like to use long-lasting, fuller coverage foundations. But, with my oily skin, the foundation will not stick. I apply a primer (Tarte Poreless primer) and let it dry or set. I then proceed to use my foundation (whether it be Estee Lauder Double Wear, Makeup Forever Matte Velvet +, or Urban Decay Naked Skin). Sometimes it will stick but if I touch it again if I am applying a concealer on top or even powder, it will totally lift off the skin and I have to start all over. It is so frustrating. I live a few hours away from any sephora so I can't physically go and talk to somebody so I need help here. I use Clean & Clear Dual Action moisturizer (oil free) if you are wondering. Is there any primer that could work with these kinds of foundations? Or is there anything else that you would recommend?
I'm going to lose my mind the more and more I read, hear and learn about bronzer! I just bought Chanel Les Beiges and am NOT looking to use it for contouring, but rather to give a little bit of warmth to my light, neutral-if-not-ever-so-slightly-cool undertoned face. I got it in shade 30, which is very similar to my natural skin color, but warmer and a couple very minor shades darker. It doesn't help that I tend to get pink/burn in the sun, so that is the color that I'm accustomed to seeing on the top of my nose, temples, etc. that I am now hoping to replace with bronzer. The last piece of advice I received from an SA I trust at Sephora said to go out into the sun, and wherever you feel the sun hit your face would be where bronzer should be applied. But that also seems like where I already apply blush and/or highlighter. Which has led me to create this thread, trying to figure out how to use them together. Would love some insight or direction to a good diagram on how to use blush/bronzer (not as a contour)/highlighter together. Because what the SA said makes total sense to me, but there isn't enough room on my face for everything!
My upper lashes are plenty long, but they want to curl upward and point inward, instead of outward, at the outer edge of my lid. I'm searching for tips to get them pointing the right way. I can "tease" them out with the pointed end of the mascara wand, but then the mascara's too clumpy. I think I should get them pointed the right direction first, and THEN deal with the mascara, but how? I've tried a spoolie (wet and dry) but they don't stay pointed out. Thanks.
Can we somehow change a review? We used to be able to write more than one but now that doesn't seem to work anymore (so we could average them). 4 is too low…but I just decided at the last moment that 5 was too high and went with 4.
I just bought the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Highlighter and I'm in love with the texture and the fact that it's not glitter explosion! But: I don't have a brush that will apply it right. All the brushes I own don't pick up the product or apply the product the way a highlighter should. So tell me what brush I should use! And I am open to all brands not just sephora brand! Thanks so much in advance
I did the color IQ in stores but it's a little off I'm looking for my shades in MUFE mat velvet + and tarte Amazonian clay foundation I am a mac nc20 in studio fix fluid and I also use the buxom show some skin in dim the light.
Hi girls! I was looking for the best foundation ever at Sephora and the girl who helped me out recommended the Armani Maestro Foundation in 5.25. I guess I have a light to medium skin with yellow undertones, but still haven't figured out how this really works I usually wear during winter MUFE in 127/140 and 160 during summer (also Teint Jolie by YSL in Foncè). I'm afraid the 5.25 shade would be too dark for me during winter and, being its price quite expensive I wanted to be completely sure about it. I totally trust you experts, can't wait to have your suggestions about the perfect foundation for me!
Hi there - I'm a huge consumer of mascara and eyeliner. I used to have a great face wash that could handle the chore of removing my eye makeup as well as clean my face, but it was discontinued. I want one product - a face wash - that can do the trick. I don't want to use eye makeup remover after I wash my face. Any thoughts?
