Under eye primer?

I'm looking for an under eye primer for concealer that is good but budget friendly. My concealer covers well, but tends to cake and wear off quickly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks :smileyhappy:

i don;t know about a primer, but I use erase paste and set it with a ood transulcent pwder and this really helps to prevent ckaing and wearing off!

Thanks for the ideas. I was just wondering - has anyone tried the Too Faced Read.Set.Prime or Shadow Insurance? Would either of those be good for under eye concealer?

The Shadow Insurance (also in the kit, which has the original and a sheer, shimmery champagne tint) could be an option to play with. I've never used it for under the eyes, but I have used it on brows prior to adding brow powder and pencil as a way to keep brow products on longer. It's also a great mixing medium for loose pigments to cream cream shadows and liners!

I would opt for using the original Shadow Insurance, the Candlelight has shimmer which wouldn't wear too well under the eyes and under concealer.

Re: Under eye primer?

I 2nd Smashbox under eye primer. I have fine lines so it fills it a little and keeps my concealer in place. before i used to set it and it still would move or fade, now it doesn't/ Not sure if its budget friendly but i will say that it lasts a reallllyyy long time. i got a sample from Sephora back in Nov/Dec and it lasted me like 3 mons, she filled up like 3/4 of the sample jar. I bought mine end of March so 3 months in and ive barely used 1/4 of the tube. it will probably last a year or more, you use a pea size for both eyes.

Hi lovebaking,

I really like Benefit's Erase Paste which literally erases dark circles where ever the product is applied.

Hi Lovebaking123-

I agree, the stay don't stray is the way to go! You almost might not need a concealer since it does a great job of covering as well. I had the old packaging and the sponge tip is a lot better. It allows you to dab on the product more easily!

Re: Under eye primer?

Smashbox makes a colorless one that also helps to hydrate to ensure concealer and make up doesn't settle or cake on the under eye area:

If you're looking for one with a tint to help neutralize and help block off dark circles or discoloration on the delicate area, try a tinted shadow primer like ones from Smashbox, Benefit (available in two shades), or Urban Decay (Eden, which has a nude tint with yellow undertones, perfect for dark circles).

Re: Under eye primer?

I've never tried this personally but I know that Benefit's Stay Don't stray primer is made for use on the lid and under eyes.

The repackage on this makes it sooo much better to not waste or get an excess of product. The nude tint helps act as an emergency concealer too if it happens to match your skin tone.

It had a pump before, right? I think pumps are just so inconvenient for products that you only need a little bit of!
