Sheer Tint Moisturizer, Smashbox vs. Tarte?
I just wanted to see if anyone has any insight or preference toward Smashbox TM or Tarte Smooth Operator. I usually use either primer, concealer with Smashbox BB with a dot of Nars Cocacabana (for luminosity), or primer, concealer and Dr. Jart+ if it's a "natural day." I'm waiting for the new Dr Jart Black Detox BB to become available, however, if it's similar in consistency as the premium, I would still like to have a good, lightweight, oil free tinted moisturizer. I haven't tried any Tarte products but something about the properties of Amazon Clay for my oily skin seems intriguing.

Hi canseethruu,

I like both of these tinted moisturizers but think that you may like the Tarte one best since it is formulated from the Amazonian Clay base that helps to really absorb and treat oil skin without being full of additives that can be harder on the skin.

Smashbox Sheer Focus is very lightweight and sheer while hydrating the skin, absorbing oil, and protecting the skin with a light spf 15.

The Tarte Smooth Operator has an SPF 20, is oil free, chock full of healthy smoothing and brightening vitamins, and has a light to medium coverage that you can build up for the perfect finish.

Well, let's just say that you were right dianabt! I came home with the Tarte Smooth Operator, and the Smooth Operator Finishing Powder, and the small trial sized 3 Primers too! Oh, and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Ready (?) Mascara too! I could've left with a ton of Tarte! It's new to me, and I love what I have tried thus far!
Thank you for your help :-)

Diana,

I was wondering the same thing about Tarte's BB Cream. I've never used one before. I have oily skin and typically need a fuller coverage to cover blemishes and red spots, but I love Tarte's concealer, so I wanted to pair the 2. How would you recommend applying BB cream? Same as foundation? I use a BBlender now and LOVE it; would that work w/ a BB cream, as well? Thanks!
