Moisturizer and Cleanser

Hello!

I am looking for a new moisturizer, I am currently using Philosophy's Take a Deep Breath, while I like this moisturizer I feel like my moisturizer can do better. I noticed that my skin is beginning to flake which is not good for my make up. I am looking for a moisturizer that can hydrate my skin more I guess.

Also I need a new cleanser. I am currently using Skin Food Food Therapy Parsley & Mandarin Mild Foam with my Clarisonic.

My skin is oily and flakey. There is also redness on my cheeks, I have blackheads on my nose (but using the Clarisonic takes care of that) and I have huge pores.

Any suggestions would be much apperciated!

Hi bunnyloaf,

How often are you using your Clarisonic? It sounds like you may need a more hydrating moisturizer (one also with an SPF to protect from UVA and UVB damage) but that will keep your skin less dry and flakey.

Using a Clarisonic will help to remove buildup and flaky skin but you may need to use it more often to help treat the flaking-it sounds like you have more combination skin so a more appropriate cleanser will probably help you too.

For truly dehydrated skin look at the Korres Yogurt Cream which is good for all skin types (including oily!) and will hydrate from within without leaving your skin too greasy feeling:

For a cleanser, a more hydrating cream could be beneficial. I like the Origins Checks & Balances which helps to even out the skin in oily spots and using it in combination with your Clarisonic will help with the buildup and exfoliation. The added clay base to this cleanser will help with oiliness too!

I also recommend the Nars Purifying Foaming Cleanser which will help reduce oil and leave your skin feeling soft and balanced. This cleanser is ideal for combination to oily skin types and is free of oils, alcohols, parabens and added fragrances:

Hi dianabt,

I just bought my Clarisonic about a week ago, I used it twice a day for the first three days and then I started to use it once a day, I'll dial it back up to twice a day again.

These are wonderful suggestions and I cant wait to check them out!

Thank you so much!
xoxo
