If You Love Lipstick As Much As We Do...Help us Name These Shades

Hi BeauyTalkers,

It’s that time again...at Wander Beauty we have a fanatical addiction to innovating when it comes to product development. With each product idea comes a survey of our team with a barrage of questions: Would you use it or not? What does it replace in your makeup bag? Is it a multitasker? Is it an essential? And more... There are many rounds of formula revisions, ingredients sourced from around the globe and countless component designs.

There is a network of Wander Beauties who test and try the formulas and comment on the shades. So, after many brainstorming sessions (read LOTS of Starbucks lattes and Magnolia cupcakes consumed), we finally start the most fun part of the process….naming the shades! So, BeautyTalkers, we were so grateful for your help naming our Exquisite Eye Liquid Shadows, that we are hoping to tap into your expertise again. Next Fall (2017) we will be launching a new lip duo that will hopefully WOW you.

In the meantime, we need your help on naming these two new members to the Wander Beauty family. The ideal name is travel inspired and also describes the color of the shade. Sound off in the comments!

1) Desert Sunset

2) Wine-Dark Sea

#2 is from the Oddysey, describing the Aegean Sea off the coast of Greece, and has always been one of my favorite phrases.

Below is a picture from CNN of Marrakech.  It has both colors!

So I would call the set Marrakech Sunset.  Then the first I'd call Sumac (spice) and the second Tyrian Purple (a Moroccan dye).  Or, you could call them more travel things like Red Eye for the first, and First Class for the second.

I knew I forgot something in the VIB sale. I wanted to finally try this brand. 

If I remember next year, I will grab this duo. They're pretty, but I will make no attempt to name them. Otherwise, you'd end up with names like red wine and purple wine. I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as purple wine, but most red wines and grapes look purple to me.

1. Marooned (like being marooned on a beautiful island       but also plays on the color)

2. Bon Violet ( a play on bon voyage!!)

How about something inspired by the wine-making regions in France? They're on my travel list for next year 😉 

1. Bordeaux or Beaujolais. Beaujolais Nouveau is a wine released on the third Thursday of November along with festivals/celebrations, so I think that one is particularly nice for a Fall 2017 release.  I also like Burgundy for this one, but I'm afraid the French wine region theme will be lost to a simplistic interpretation of the color burgundy.  

2. Rhône Valley or Rhône Valley Syrah. This color reminds me of a full-bodied wine, like syrah, which has a long history in the Rhône region.

PS - I'm fully available to research and test as many wines as needed to find the perfect pairing for these lipsticks 😉
