I need a skincare regimen that will work for me but I don't know where to start!
I'm 22 years old. I've had acne since I was 13. FINALLY, I haven't been seeing a lot of actual pimples popping up, which is awesome for me! BUT I have dark spots, uneven skintone, little bumps and somewhat large pores and I am oily. Right now, I am just washing my face with normal soap and water, day and night, and have been using rubbing alcohol to clear up some bumps. I KNOW, I know it's probably super bad for my skin but it has actually been keeping things at bay until I can splurge on some products that will help me get where I want to be... *OH!* also, I want something that will help prevent wrinkles. I already have some on my forehead, they aren't horrible but I don't want them! especially this young! and also wrinkles around my mouth and sometimes I have bags under my eyes. YUCK!
So I need some suggestions on a *New and Improved* skincare regimen. My main concerns are:
Acne (since my skin is probably still acne prone)
Wrinkles - forehead, around mouth, and undereyes.
I would like suggestions on:
and anything else you think may help me out
so as I stated, I'm currently using just soap and water and some alcohol, ugh... but the foundation I'm using is make up forever (but it's too light) and Bare minerals powder matte finish. No primer just some neutrogena oil free moisterizer that is almost out...
I NEED HELP! I'm ready to splurge to acheive that sense of perfection. I now know, beautiful skin is worth the money! Lol
All I want is to be able to go somewhere some times without wearing makeup!!!!!!!! and when I do wear make up I want it to look FLAWLESS!!! Please help!!!
For a cleanser i would recommend Ole Henriksen's African Red Tea Cleanser because it effictively removes all traces of makeup. Oily skin tends to love a foam. a little bit goes a long way!
De-Spot by Peter Thomas Roth is a great treatment to use after cleansing your face. While applying this treatment you want to press the product into the skin with your finger tips because treatments such as these are made to penetrate deeper into your skin than a moisturizer does. This speaks to all types of discoloration and you can see results so quickly! you are going to fall in love with this product!
To prevent fine lines and speak to dark circles i would go with Philosophy's Eye Hope. While many eye creams speak to a specific eye concern, this eye cream is a multi-tasker. It's a super power product! You are still so young, and aren't dealing with severe wrinkles or bags so this is a great starter eye cream for you.
Since you have acne prone skin, but don't seem to be dealing with multiple active breakouts Philosophy's clear days ahead acne spot treatment is great to use if you have an occasional break out.
For a daily mositurizer Murad Oil-Control Mattifier is great because it is going to control oil throughout the day while giving you the sun protection you need to prevent skin damage.
Boscia Bright White Mask is a fantastic add on to your skin care regimen to use once or twice a week because it will speak to many of your biggest skin concerns. It is going to correct your skin by brightening dark spots and evening any discoloration you may have. It also has many anti-aging benefits that will speak to fine lines and wrinkles.
I believe that a primer is essential to achieve the most flawless look with your foundation and is going to help your makeup stay on all day and prevent it from looking cakey. This primer is going to help your pores to appear smaller and is going to control oil throughout the day
Since you are currently using a foundation with a matte finish Nars Matte Sheer Glow is going to achieve a great finish for your oily skin. This foundation offers a medium/full coverage
i really hope i spoke to your biggest concerns and introduced you to some great products that hopefully change your life. These are all fantastic brands that all continuously loved by Sephora's clientele.
Hi AlwaysGab With a well rounded routine and a few treatments, you should notice a big difference in your skin. I would start with a gentle cleanser for acne prone skin like Kate Somerville Detox Daily Cleanser. After cleansing I recommend using Murad Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel. It will help keep away breakouts and will also help even out your skin tone. Even though you have oily skin, using the right moisturizer daily is very important. You may also notice a reduction in the lines you are currently seeing as dehydrated skin will magnify any slight surface lines. Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion - Blemish Prone/Oily Skin is made specifically for oily/acne prone skin. In addition to hydrating, it will also help control oil, minimize pores and help balance the texture and tone of your skin. For eye cream, I would recommend trying Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment. It is an anti-aging lightweight cream that will also help with the puffiness. I think these products will be a good start for your daily regimen.
The Murad serum I recommend gives exfoliation, but sometimes you may feel like you want to use a treatment a few times a week as well. If you have active acne, you want to stay away from scrubs. Using something like Philosophy Clear Days Ahead™ Overnight Repair Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Pads will bump up the exfoliation and treatment benefits without exacerbating it.
For foundation, how much coverage do you prefer? Do you like a matte finish?
