Factory Skin

(0) Hearts

Im 39 yrs old with combination skin, oily on nose but dry every else. I have always taken good care of my skin and it is in good shape for my age but I think I need more now than just cleansing and moisturizing. I work in a factory so my skin is exposed to many things. My cheeks seem to be pink and blotchy and im noticing the pores more but they feel smooth. I would love to find something i can put on my face and neck that would protect my skin from the harsh environment that surrounds me. Some kind of barrier so the dirt and oils don't get in my pores. Also, don't know what kind of cleanser to use.  Please help...im so confused while reading all these products. Thank You

Do you wear makeup to work? Wearing a foundation can actually help to prevent some of the oil and dirt from  getting into your pores.

Agreed.  Something like Origins CC Cream would be great.  It contains antioxidants to combat the pollutants assaulting your skin at work.

Hi Angelica, I totally agree with Dannyc.  Adding an antioxidant serum to your routine will definitely help and the Truth Serum is a great choice.  If the redness is caused by sensitivity to your environment, you can try using a moisturizer like FIRST AID BEAUTY Ultra Repair Cream which will help soothe your skin and reduce redness caused by sensitivity.  What kind of cleanser are you currently using and how does your skin feel afterwards?

I'm a fan of OH Truth serum. You can also look into serum/moisturizer that shelters you from environmental stress such as Origins Perfect World and Murad Essential C.

I would suggest applying a serum in the morning (after cleansing, before moisturizing) that has Vitamin C in it, like the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. Vitamin C helps fight off free radicals.

Also make sure you are washing your face well at night & use an exfoliating scrub/treatment a few times a week.
