Concealer Help

(0) Hearts

For reference I use Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in Light-Medium and use the concealer Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Medium.

I'm a bit confused on how to make my undereye match the rest of my face.  My concealer is either too light or too dark and to me looks like I'm wearing concealer.  I don't want to use too much product because I have some fine lines that I don't want to accentuate.  I've put a dab of foundation on top of my concealer but it irritates my undereye area enough for me to take it off.  If I don't wear my foundation the concealer looks right but with my foundation on it looks wrong, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I need a different color.  Help please!

Hi Sammiebaby,

It sounds like your foundation is the wrong color!  I find that the Amazonian Clay Foundation is a bit heavy & I usually wont use a separate concealer with it.  I love that it is buildable, so I can add a bit more under my eyes & skip additional products.

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in the Medium shade might work a bit better with the medium Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer.   You might want to visit your local Sephora to have them re-match your color to ensure you have the correct undertones in the foundation & concealer.

Hope that helps :smileyhappy:

Hi!  I would say that based on the Sephora swatches of your foundation and concealer shades, your concealer is either too dark, or maybe your foundation has the wrong undertone.  I would try to get a sample of a different foundation with a very good match to your skin to test out, and see if that makes a difference (using the same concealer).  A recommendation for a lighter concealer to possibly get a sample of is the MUFE lift concealer in the shade Neutral Beige 3.

If you're set on your foundation though, you could try setting your foundation and concealer with a setting powder that has a little color to it, so it makes everything the same shade.  I hope this is helpful!
